Nearly £14,000 in cash and designer goods were seized from his address.

Timlick claimed he had ongoing issues with motorbikes riding past his garden and intended only to smash the bike. Gavin Hough, an IT employee at Gateley law firm, was arrested in 2024 after police linked his internet address to downloads of child sexual abuse images and bestiality content. A search of his mobile phone and PC tower uncovered over 3,000 images and videos, with 180 classified as Category A (the most serious). He pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of indecent images of children, one of prohibited images, and one of possession of extreme pornography. The material depicted children as young as six. He made determined and sophisticated efforts to obtain the images by contacting others online. His defence claimed he turned to the material after experiencing reduced intimacy with his wife, who subsequently left him. Judge Steven Coupland sentenced him to 14 months imprisonment at Nottingham Crown Court, noting a medium-to-high risk of reoffending.

Frederick Roy Salmon, 69, formerly of Foxhill Road, East Carlton, indecently assaulted two girls and a boy over three decades, with offences taking place in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. The victims reported the abuse to Nottinghamshire Police over the last two years. After an eight-day trial at Nottingham Crown Court, he was found guilty of 13 counts of sexual assault and witness intimidation.

In August 2025, then 19-year-old Evie Robinson drove her Audi A1 across a car park in Mansfield while two friends, including the 18-year-old victim, were sitting in the boot. When Robinson accelerated, both fell out; the victim hit her head on the ground and suffered a 5mm deep brain bleed, requiring a week in an induced coma and six weeks in hospital. She was left with seizures, speech difficulties, mood changes, and her education and future were severely affected. Robinson later pleaded guilty to causing serious injury through dangerous driving.

She managed to escape after the assault and reported it to friends. His DNA was recovered from a condom at the scene, and his fingerprints were on the packet.

The victim suffered serious facial injuries including an orbital fracture, broken cheek bone, fractured nose and extensive bruising, and required hospital treatment. Langford was convicted of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.

Harley Ashurst committed five burglaries in October 2019. The first occurred on Lowdham Road, Gedling, between the evening of 9 October and early hours of 10 October. He entered homes, rummaged through fridges and kitchen cupboards, and drank from a vodka bottle at one property. Stolen items included bank cards, ID documents, and a victim's wedding ring. Arrested after police found property from each burglary at his home. Caught on CCTV using stolen bank cards in a fraud offence. DNA on the vodka bottle matched him.
Pleaded guilty to five counts of burglary and one of fraud. Stole bank cards, used them on CCTV. DNA match from vodka bottle. Prolific offender. Items including a wedding ring were recovered and returned.

Jacob Harper followed a 91-year-old widow as she walked to the Post Office on April 3, dragged her to the ground, and stole her handbag in a jitty off Milton Avenue. She suffered an egg-sized lump on her head and was left shaken and traumatised. Harper was waiting outside his mother's address, deliberately targeted the victim because she was frail, and ran off with the handbag. His mother later provided CCTV of him outside her home moments before the robbery, helping secure his conviction. At the time of the attack, he was on licence from a previous bag snatch robbery on an 85-year-old woman in 2022.
Pleaded guilty to robbery. On licence from a previous 2 year 11 month sentence for a similar robbery on an 85-year-old woman in 2022. Victim was a 91-year-old widow who suffered an egg-sized lump on her head and was left traumatised. Judge commented on the victim's vulnerability and the defendant's mother providing CCTV evidence.

The collision caused severe life-changing injuries including brain bleed, amputation of right arm and leg; victim requires 24-hour care, constant pain, unable to work. CCTV shown in court; described as reckless driving. Searson pleaded with medics to save the victim.

Jake Shaw, 19, of Lotus Close, St Ann’s, entered a house in Third Avenue, Gedling in the early hours of Sunday, November 25, while the occupant was sleeping, and stole two hard drives, a purse and a debit card. On January 5, 2019 at around 1am, he entered a house in Marshall Road, Mapperley, while the occupants were sleeping, and took two sets of car keys, house keys, a purse, bank cards, two handbags, a wallet, cash and two cars. The cars were found abandoned in the early hours of the following morning.
Burglaries occurred while occupants were sleeping. Stolen cars were found abandoned.

On 28 April 2018, at about 10.40pm, police were called to a stabbing at Millbank Place, Bestwood Village. Marian Caliman stabbed his wife, Faye Caliman, 30, a mother of three children, during a domestic argument. She died at the scene despite treatment by paramedics. Caliman admitted murder in a police interview and subsequently pleaded guilty at Nottingham Crown Court.

Mark Martin strangled 25-year-old Ellen Frith to death on 24 January 2005 in a derelict flat in Marple Road, Nottingham, then stuck a syringe in her leg and set fire to the property. He also strangled 18-year-old Katie Baxter and 26-year-old Zoe Pennick between 30 December 2004 and 6 January 2005 near his tent. Bodies of Pennick and Baxter were found under rubble next to his tent in February 2005.

Reap was arrested in January 2019 but continued to deny the offences until pleading guilty at the start of his trial on August 2.
Pleaded guilty to seven separate offences at the start of his trial: five counts of rape and two of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Described as a 'manipulative' sex offender by the judge. Added to the Sex Offender Register for life and made subject of a sexual harm prevention order.

This breached a two-year suspended sentence from February 2025 for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and a five-year restraining order.

On 19 February 2017, Malgorzata Kobialka stabbed her partner at their home in Sherwood, Nottingham, causing serious, life-threatening injuries. She denied the stabbing from the outset of the investigation, alleging that an unknown man had attacked her partner on the doorstep. Instead of seeking immediate medical help, she delayed calling an ambulance for three hours, using the time to phone friends and family and to change her clothes in an effort to evade justice.

Marc Stephenson held a knife to a woman's throat and threatened to kill her during an incident in Ravenshead at 1:55am on March 23, 2019. When police arrived he was in the back garden, made swiping motions toward them, and threatened to stab them. Officers used CS spray and knocked the knife out of his hands with a baton before detaining him. Stephenson was charged with affray and threats to kill and later admitted the offences.

Nottingham City Council Trading Standards made test purchases and searched their homes, finding cash, false service stamps, and paperwork for over 70 vehicles. Laptops and iPads seized contained the fake documents.

On the evening of 24 November 2014, Lukasz Kielb drove his friend Kacper Wojciechowski to a house in Rosetta Road, New Basford, Nottingham. He dragged him into the cellar, where with Mark Duffus he tied him up, scalded him with boiling water, beat him with a knuckleduster and a metal pole, and slashed his arms and legs with knives. Wojciechowski escaped the next morning and suffered a broken nose, broken cheekbone, and multiple cuts requiring stitches. Kielb was sentenced for false imprisonment and causing grievous bodily harm.

In November 2015, Luke Harlow initiated online grooming of 15-year-old Kayleigh Haywood by contacting her on Facebook. Over two weeks they exchanged more than 2,600 text messages, and Harlow posed as her boyfriend. On 13 November 2015, Kayleigh was dropped off at Ibstock Community College and went to Harlow's flat. From the evening of 14 November to the early hours of 15 November, Harlow and his neighbour Stephen Beadman kept her prisoner. Harlow sexually touched Kayleigh and falsely imprisoned her, enabling Beadman to chase, rape, and murder her in nearby woods. Her body was found on 18 November 2015.

Over an 18-month period between 2013 and 2015, Marcin Kaminski and Meti Zielinski tampered with 17 vehicles, cutting the mileage on 13 of them by around half and reducing the total by 1,159,743 miles. They created fake MOT certificates, service histories, and false documents to sell the cars to victims across the country. Nottingham City Council Trading Standards made test purchases and searched their homes, finding cash, false service stamps, and paperwork for over 70 vehicles. Laptops and iPads seized contained the fake documents.

He was later caught on CCTV walking along the road carrying a distinctive laptop bag taken in the burglary. Stolen items were recovered from an address where he was staying. The offenders then stole the iPhone and fled.
