Who We Are
Court Sentences UK is a trading name of Search Ventures Ltd (Company No. 10588553), a registered company in England and Wales. Our team specialises in legal data aggregation and public records research, bringing together expertise in data journalism, legal reporting, and information technology.
Our team manually reviews and verifies sentencing records gathered from media outlets, direct court attendance, and community submissions. Every entry is checked for accuracy before being published on the platform.
Our Data & Methodology
We source sentencing information from three primary channels: media reports from local and national news outlets, direct court attendance providing first-hand reporting, and community submissions from legal professionals and informed members of the public.
Each record is processed through our editorial workflow: we cross-reference details across multiple sources where possible, standardise court and offence names for consistency, and clearly attribute the original source for every entry. We do not publish information that is subject to reporting restrictions.
Our database covers both Crown Courts and Magistrates' Courts across England and Wales. We update our records regularly to reflect the latest available sentencing outcomes.
Content Removal
We take data accuracy and individual rights seriously. If you believe any information on our site is inaccurate, relates to a successful appeal, or is subject to reporting restrictions, you can submit a removal request directly from the relevant court page. Our team reviews every request and aims to respond within 5 working days.
