Lewis Barovbe and Stephen Gillard repeatedly attacked a vulnerable victim at his home near the Tideway in Rochester on 4 July 2022 and 7 July 2022. They were using the property to store supplies of Class A drugs. After the victim panicked and flushed a large quantity of crack cocaine down the toilet, they demanded £1,000. Barovbe kicked the man several times and stabbed the side of his head with scissors. Three days later, Barovbe assaulted the victim again, smashed a mirror over his head, and stabbed him several times with a shard of broken glass. Gillard dragged the victim back inside when he tried to seek help. The victim was forced to clean up blood with bleach and dispose of the broken mirror.

On 23 July 2021, Stephen McCreadie entered a house on the Isle of Sheppey uninvited where a woman he knew was living. He repeatedly punched her in an unprovoked attack in front of her young children. The woman fled and he pursued her, striking her face multiple times while threatening to kill her. She suffered three broken ribs, bruising and scratches, requiring hospital treatment for eleven days. Following the incident, he sent abusive text messages threatening further violence to her and her family.
Pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm and harassment. Received a 10-year restraining order.

Sonny Coster repeatedly beat the victim around the head with empty half-pint glasses during an unprovoked attack at the Station House Pub in Barden Road on 3 December 2022. The victim was playing pool with a friend when Coster, who was unknown to him, rushed inside from the pub garden, armed himself with a glass in each hand, attacked from behind with a large overhead swing, knocked the victim to the ground, and continued beating his head, face and neck. The victim required urgent hospital treatment for multiple bleeds to the brain, broken teeth and ribs.
Pleaded guilty. Told he will have to serve two thirds of the sentence before he can apply for parole.

Maughan was arrested on 10 November 2020 after leaving the Longfield victim's address.

Soufyan Yahyaoui, aged 41 and of no fixed address, attended an elderly woman’s home in Tunbridge Wells on the evening of 12 May 2020. After ringing the doorbell and claiming to check on her welfare, he forced his way inside, assaulted her leaving her unconscious with injuries including a bleed to the brain and carpet burns from being dragged along the floor. Attempts were made to sexually assault her. Nearby residents challenged him after hearing a disturbance; he fled on foot but was pointed out to police and arrested soon after.
Pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm, breaching a sexual harm prevention order and criminal damage. Convicted following a trial on other charges. Must serve at least eight years before parole eligibility, extended licence period of one year, added to sex offenders register indefinitely.

Stefan Crocker, 30, of Maybourne Place, Staplehurst, met the victim through a dating website. They exchanged messages and agreed to meet on 29 September 2017, with the victim accompanied by a friend. Crocker collected them in his car and they spent the evening visiting bars in Tunbridge Wells. By 2am the next morning, the victim felt ill from alcohol and Crocker drove them to her house, where he sexually assaulted her by penetration. He then left and she contacted police. He was arrested on 2 October 2017 and charged.
Pleaded not guilty and was convicted after a three-day trial on 2 February 2022.
Shpendi Hakili

Shpendi Hakili, 38, from Glasgow, caused the death of Sazan Bako, 35, from Maidstone, who was known to him, in Cuxton Road, Strood, at around 8.45pm on Sunday 20 November 2022. They became involved in an argument which resulted in Hakili assaulting Bako. The force of the assault caused Bako to fall backwards and hit his head on the pavement. He died in hospital three weeks later.
Found guilty of manslaughter following an earlier trial. Denied causing the death. Arrested in France in March 2023.

Zubair Butt and Shyanne Porter ambushed a lone woman known to them from behind a wall in Luton Road, Chatham, at around 8.20am on 26 February 2019. The victim suffered numerous head injuries treated at a London hospital.

Shaquille Campbell, formerly of Ilford, Essex, committed a burglary on 14 November 2022 at an address in Breething Road, Dunton Green, stealing jewellery, cash and designer clothing. He also committed burglaries between 21 September and 5 November 2022 in Cheam, Surrey; Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire and Twickenham, London, where he robbed the occupants. On the following day, 15 November 2022, he drove a BMW dangerously in Wested Lane, Crockenhill, failing to stop for police, driving at excessive speed on the wrong side of the road and colliding with another car. Officers seized trainers he wore that were stolen from Dunton Green. Some property from Rickmansworth was recovered from a pawn shop in Shepherd’s Bush.
Pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary, one count of robbery, a theft and dangerous driving. Disqualified from driving for 18 months on release until passing re-test. Described as a prolific criminal who stole high value cars and designer clothing during burglaries, turning violent when disturbed.

On 26 January 2018, Shaun Barton and Billy Beck targeted a man in his 20s in a supermarket car park in Sutton Road, Maidstone, who had agreed to buy gold from Beck for £700. They got into the rear of the victim's car, instructed him to drive to a nearby housing estate, then attacked him with knives. Beck grabbed the victim around the neck and tried to stab him while demanding cash. Barton tried to stab the victim through the open driver's door, stole £1,520 from his pocket, and threatened the victim's friend. The victim suffered a cut to his jaw and facial grazes.
Pleaded not guilty and convicted after a three-day trial. Sentence included a separate charge of GBH in Chatham on 4 November 2018.

Sergejs Mikulovs

Sergejs Mikulovs, a 42-year-old lorry driver from Strood, lost control of his articulated lorry whilst attempting to negotiate a bend near the junction with Willow Wents on Seven Mile Lane, heading towards a depot in Paddock Wood. The incident occurred at around 6.40pm on 12 July 2021. The lorry had reached almost 60mph on a stretch of road with a 50mph limit, crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a Vauxhall Corsa, causing the car to catch fire and forcing it onto a grass verge. A woman and her adult daughter inside the Corsa suffered serious, life-changing injuries and were taken to a London hospital.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Disqualified from driving for almost three years and must take an extended test.
Sergjo Rica
Conspiracy to supply cocaine *

Sergjo Rica was part of an organised criminal gang which arranged delivery of cocaine into Tunbridge Wells through dedicated ‘customer’ phone lines. Between May 2019 and June 2020, he was responsible for directing multiple drug runners to users’ homes. He was arrested on 22 May 2019 while driving a VW Passat in Mountfield Gardens, Tunbridge Wells, containing cocaine. On 3 June 2020, he was arrested in Leicestershire where police seized 12 bags of cocaine from a car and more than £1,500 in cash from the vehicle and his clothing. Forensic tests matched his fingerprints to the deal bags. Two mobile phones linked to him contained evidence of hundreds of completed deals.
Pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine, as well as two counts of possessing cannabis with intent to supply. Aged 25, formerly from Mitcham.
Shane Baker

Between 15 October and 1 November 2021, Shane Baker targeted three vehicles in Sittingbourne and Maidstone, stealing cash and power tools. He also broke into a domestic garage in Hollingbourne, stealing further tools and other property. Arrested on 1 November in possession of 13.6 grams of amphetamine following CCTV evidence.
Pleaded guilty to all indictments including burglary, attempted theft of a car, theft from a vehicle, attempted theft, possession of class B drugs, two thefts from cars and nine counts of vehicle interference.

They scaled the port’s fencing, climbed a maintenance gantry, and attempted to remove the hatch on a refrigerated shipping container from Costa Rica containing 10 kilos of cocaine worth up to £1m on the street. Fled but was detained by Border Force.

Aaron Leacock, Warren Roache and Sean Lee conspired to commit fraud by false representation, targeting 47 elderly victims (aged 70 or over) across Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire, Hampshire, south London and Northamptonshire. Victims were phoned from burner phones by someone pretending to be from their bank, asked security questions, and told a courier would collect their card due to an issue. Cards were collected and used by Roache and Lee to withdraw cash or buy goods near victims' homes. Leacock made the calls from an office in Purley High Street, South Croydon. Total stolen: £60,000.
Responsible for 10 offences in the conspiracy. Pleaded guilty.

Samantha Hart and Charlie Olding acted together to persuade the victim into meeting them at a private address in Chatham in the early hours of 10 September 2020. Hart assaulted the victim as she approached the property. The victim was forced into a cellar by a third offender, threatened, subjected to a prolonged and violent assault, raped and forced to engage in sexual activity while watched by Hart. She escaped later that day.
Found guilty of rape and causing the victim to engage in sexual activity following a trial. Also admitted assault causing actual bodily harm. Must serve two-thirds before applying for parole. Aged 32, from Chatham.
Rocco Mustafa

In the early hours of 19 August 2022, Rocco Mustafa and Reece Willis approached 20-year-old Thomas Waugh and his two friends in Tonbridge Racecourse Park, threatening them with a large knife and demanding mobile phones. After Thomas ran and returned with a stick to distract them, allowing his friends to escape, Mustafa pursued and fatally stabbed Thomas in the torso in a car park on Avebury Avenue.
Pleaded guilty to murder whilst acting together, two robberies and attempted robbery on 27 January 2023.
Rodney Geisha

Rodney Geisha carried out a knife assault following an argument with two men in Maidstone town centre. The incident took place in Week Street during the afternoon of 3 February 2021. Geisha pulled a knife from his waistband, causing a cut to the face of one victim. When others intervened, he moved behind the second victim and inflicted serious neck injuries requiring surgery. He fled the scene before emergency services arrived. Officers arrested him at his home address where he had cuts to his left hand and an injured thumb.
Pleaded not guilty and was convicted after a 20-day trial. Additionally charged with conspiring to pervert the course of justice and witness intimidation.
Robert Shearmur

Between 26 March and 6 June 2020, Robert Shearmur ran a criminal business with Harry Darke using an encrypted mobile phone under pseudonyms ‘Basilowl’ and ‘Lizardfoot’. They purchased multiple kilos of cocaine and ketamine which they sold to other dealers, trading around 20 kilos of cocaine and four kilos of ketamine over a 52-day period for considerable profit. Messages suggested plans to use gains for property development. Data from infiltrated secure communication passed to National Crime Agency.
Pleaded guilty. Aged 34. Arrested on 9 November 2021; compressed block of ketamine seized from van, Taser, pepper spray and machete recovered from house. Joint bank account with Harry Darke containing £140,000 in 2021.
Roy Basson

Roy Basson, 39, of Stonehouse Road, Sevenoaks, received a laundry style bag from Paul Worthington during a drug deal in Maidenhead on Thursday 20 May 2021. He attempted to hide 20 blocks of cocaine, worth between £1m and £2m, in a specially built compartment in the back of his Citroen Berlingo van as officers approached. Arrested along with Worthington; police seized two mobile phones and a notepad with postcodes.
Admitted conspiracy to supply cocaine. Also charged with acquiring criminal property, ordered to lie on file. Forfeiture and destruction order for drugs, cash and van.
Rohan Daniels

In the early hours of Wednesday 21 December 2022, David Perry was violently assaulted by Rohan Daniels after the pair had argued over missing tobacco at the family home in Medway Close, Sittingbourne. Daniels, who was 18 at the time, used a machete inflicting multiple stab wounds on Perry, aged 40, who was confirmed deceased at the scene. Daniels fled the property but was arrested the following day.
Pleaded not guilty but convicted of manslaughter following a trial. Investigating officer noted the argument escalated over missing tobacco and Daniels claimed the machete was for bushcraft.

Russell Tillson, a former secondary school teacher at Tonbridge School, committed offences of indecent assault on two pupils under his care. The abuse began in the 1980s and spanned almost 20 years, occurring both in the classroom and in a private residence he held at the school. In his senior role, he exploited his influence over pupils' future educational aspirations, including offering one boy an enhanced university reference achievable by 'unconventional methods.' Allegations were first made to Kent Police in 2018, leading to his arrest in October 2020.
Convicted on four counts of indecent assault after trial at which he denied all allegations. Also given a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Roy Sinclair

Roy Sinclair entered Lloyds Bank on High Street, Dartford, at around 3pm on Friday 4 February 2022. He walked behind the counter, pulled out a knife, held it close to a cashier's body, demanded money saying 'no alarms or I’ll kill you', and stole discontinued £20 bank notes from the till before leaving on foot. He handed himself in to Kent Police two days later, confessed, and was arrested. Matching clothing was found at his home.
Pleaded guilty to robbery and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. Two-year extended licence upon release. Aged 43, of Otterden Street, Sydenham.

Milan Kosoric and Pero Mitrovic were caught red-handed by police with almost £750,000 in cash stored in supermarket ‘bags for life’ wrapped in plastic bundles in a bedroom of a flat in Redcliffe Street, Kensington, on 2 March 2021. More than 100 wraps of cocaine were also seized from the property and a nearby parked car. They had been staying at the address and were arrested as part of a proactive operation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate. The cash totalled £745,087, which was successfully forfeited under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
Pleaded guilty to money laundering offences. Aged 35 at time of arrest.

When she fetched her purse, he violently pushed her with a clenched fist to her chest, causing her to fall, grabbed the purse and fled. CCTV showed him holding the purse, putting items in his pockets and discarding others, which were recovered and identified as the victim's. He was arrested the next day in Gillingham High Street.

Paul Freeman targeted victims overnight in Rochester, Chatham and Gillingham over a fortnight. On 30 December 2022, he entered a porch in City Way, Rochester, but fled when disturbed. On 8 January 2023, he stole a backpack containing a wallet and bank cards from a porch in Great Lines, Gillingham, attempted to use the cards to buy alcohol, but was confronted. On 12 January 2023, he attempted to burgle cars and a house in Scott Terrace, Chatham, fleeing on a bicycle. Identified via CCTV and doorbell cameras, arrested on 19 January 2023 in Ordnance Terrace, Chatham.
Pleaded guilty to two burglaries, an attempted burglary and fraud. 39-year-old of no fixed address.

Nigel Goodall and his son Ben Goodall used a glass and a dining fork to attack a customer at a restaurant on Lower Stone Street, Maidstone, on 18 March 2020 at around 8.30pm. The assault was unprovoked after the victim had asked them to moderate their offensive language. Ben punched the victim’s face multiple times, then Nigel stabbed the victim’s head repeatedly with a fork and smashed a glass into his face. The victim suffered deep cuts to his head and required hospital treatment.

Nikki Fewsdale was part of a criminal gang responsible for importing and distributing at least 1.4 tonnes of cocaine from Central America concealed in bananas between March and December 2021. Drugs were smuggled into Kent via shipping containers at the Port of Sheerness, including over a tonne from Costa Rica, extracted and distributed from a yard in Longfield.

Oliver Pinney, 26, of Tupman Close, Rochester, took a woman known to him back to his home after a night out in Rochester on 30 January 2021. During a dispute inside the property, he pinned her to the floor and strangled her with such force that it caused bruising to her neck. She broke free, ran to a nearby home for help, and Pinney was detained within 15 minutes. Separately, in August 2019 in Strood, Pinney hit a man in the head with a pitchfork during a disturbance, causing serious facial injury.
Admitted assault by beating. Concurrent two-year sentence for grievous bodily harm committed in Strood in August 2019. Held on remand since arrest.
Oluwaseun Oseni

On 21 August 2021, in the early hours, Oluwaseun Oseni approached a teenage girl waiting for a taxi in Pudding Lane, Maidstone, grabbed her around the waist, took hold of her throat, pushed her against shutters, punched a woman who intervened causing her glasses to break, and dragged the victim to a car park at the rear of the building where he began to sexually assault her. He was interrupted by the woman and a security guard, who pulled him away and secured the victim. Oseni banged on the window before leaving, and was arrested nearby.
Pleaded guilty to sexual assault and two counts of actual bodily harm.
Omar Minsende
Being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis *

During January 2021, investigators identified a mobile phone used to supply heroin and cocaine. Omar Minsende held the phone and was dealing from his flat in Queen Anne Road. On 9 February 2021, he was arrested. Search seized herbal cannabis (£1,500 street value), £2,500 cash, eight grams of crack cocaine, fifteen grams of heroin (£2,300 value), electronic scales hidden under crockery in a sink, and the phone used to offer drugs.
Pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis; convicted following trial on being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.
Omerfaraz Rahman

Omerfaraz Rahman, 43, of no fixed address, was involved in the illegal transfer of money obtained through criminal activities such as drug dealing. He was arrested after a surveillance operation on 17 September 2018 in Nottingham, where he was carrying a carrier bag full of banknotes which he placed into the boot of an Audi. The Audi was stopped in Medway on Maidstone Road, Wigmore, revealing £61,155 cash and a phone with images of large amounts of money. A search of his home found a cash counting machine and evidence of illegal money movement.
Pleaded guilty to money laundering offences.
Nuhi Duraku
Being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis *

Part of an organised crime group using a specific phone number to target drug users in Maidstone with cocaine and cannabis. On 30 March 2022, arrested during a search at an address in Enfield where 33 wraps and 222 grams of cocaine (total street value with cannabis £34,380), 1.8 kg cannabis bud, cutting agent, scales, phones, £9,495 cash and two Mercedes vehicles were seized.
Aged 32, from Enfield. Pleaded guilty to both counts.

During 2022, whilst in a relationship with the victim from Sittingbourne, Nuno Rodrigues subjected her to constant assaults including pinning her to the ground whilst placing hands around her neck causing bruising and preventing breathing, multiple assaults whilst on holiday in Madeira causing permanent loss of sensitivity on one side of her mouth, threats with a knife, threats to disclose personal images, striking her face multiple times, and on 5 December 2022 taking hold of her throat, threatening to kill her if she called police, and preventing her from leaving.
Pleaded guilty to engaging in coercive and controlling behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Subject to an indefinite restraining order on release.
Nyron Scott

On 6 May 2023, Nyron Scott was involved in an altercation outside a venue in Rose Yard, Maidstone. He was in possession of a knife and stabbed the victim four times, causing cuts to his face and arm. Bystanders gave first-aid, and the victim was taken to hospital. Police recovered CCTV image from security staff, located Scott in Pudding Lane, and retrieved the knife from Earl Street.
Pleaded guilty to wounding. From Reading, Berkshire. 24-year-old.
Oakley Ellis

On 5 October 2019, Oakley Ellis went to a store in Church Street, Cliffe, selected food items, punched a member of staff and ran without paying. Identified via CCTV. Investigation revealed involvement in supply of Class A drugs to Gillingham. Arrested on 18 November at Southend Close, Eltham, Greater London; 20.72 grams crack cocaine and 6.85 grams cocaine found in nearby car, phone with supply messages.
Pleaded guilty to robbery, being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and being concerned in the supply of heroin. Additional two years and six months’ imprisonment for possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of ketamine with intent to supply and possessing criminal property in Hull.
Richard Riley
Rape of a child under 16 *

Richard Riley, 66, of Kimberley Road in Stockwell, London, committed multiple child sex offences in the Chatham and London areas between 1982 and 1985. He was arrested on November 27, 2017, and later charged.
Pleaded guilty to four counts of rape of a child under 16 years of age and one count of indecent assault of a child under 16. Placed on the sex offenders register for an indefinite period.
Richard Winfield
Indecency with a child and indecent assault *

Richard Winfield carried out indecent assaults on two children in the late 1970s and early 1980s in the Ashford area. The offences against the first victim took place in the late 1970s, when the victim was under 10-years-old. The offences against the second victim took place in the early 1980s, when the victim was in their teens. Arrested in 2018 after victims contacted police. Charges brought in April 2020 after witnesses corroborated evidence. Of White Horse Lane, Canterbury.
Convicted of multiple counts of indecency with a child and indecent assault following a trial. Refused to admit guilt. Aged 90 at sentencing.
