Paul Debenham, a serial burglar, broke into homes in the Orpington area, often targeting the elderly. On 31 October 2023, he entered a house on Spur Road while brandishing a handgun, pushed a 76-year-old woman to the floor, threatened a 78-year-old man, and stole their car before fleeing. On 2 November 2023, he broke into a 96-year-old woman's home on Blenheim Road by smashing a back door glass panel with a brick, threatened her with a hammer, demanded car keys and jewellery, and was captured on internal CCTV rummaging through the property. He was identified through fingerprints on a discarded box of alcohol and extensive CCTV enquiries, and was linked to a total of 15 offences.
Targeted elderly victims, threatened them with a handgun and hammer, showed no remorse, and was charged with four commercial burglaries, seven residential burglaries, theft of a motor vehicle, and vehicle interference. PC Rob Melton noted that Debenham committed crimes to fund his lifestyle and that the arrest resulted from combined police efforts.
Danny Butler
Possession of firearms with intent to endanger life *

Danny Butler, 45, from Tulse Hill, concealed a total of six weapons, including three handguns (one loaded) in a children’s clothes drawer, another handgun and a pump-action sawn-off shotgun in a wardrobe, and a second sawn-off shotgun in the coat cupboard, along with ammunition and Class A and Class B drugs in the house in Lambeth. The drugs were found in areas easily accessible to children, such as the living room floor, TV unit, and coat cupboard. This was uncovered during a police raid based on intelligence about firearms being stored at the address.
Sentenced for possession of six firearms with intent to endanger life, possession of ammunition, and possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply. The investigation targeted gang violence in south London. Detective Inspector Nikki Owen commented on the devastating impact of violent crime and the removal of dangerous weapons from the streets.

From 2015, he paid thousands of pounds to a woman in the Philippines for live-streamed sexual attacks on a child via webcam. He used Skype to contact known Filipino child sex abuse facilitators and planned to assault a child during a visit to the Philippines in 2016. Whiddett, of Portsmouth, left the armed forces in 1997 and was made an MBE in 1988 for his service.
Pleaded guilty to one count of intent to cause a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, one count of causing or inciting a child under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity, one count of arranging or facilitating a sexual offence against a child and three counts of possessing indecent images of children. Judge Nicholas Ainley noted the defendant's interest in dating Asian women changed into a need for sexual relationships with children, involving two different children.
