On May 22, 2025, Steven Kiley, a learner driver, was driving a black Smart car uninsured and without a licence when he crashed head-on into a blue people carrier on Brielle Way, Sheerness. He was on the wrong side of the road, straddling both lanes. The collision seriously injured Tony Price, a passenger in the other vehicle, causing fractures to his eye socket, lower spine, and a foot injury that required realignment, leaving him unable to work as a builder. All four men in the other car were injured. Kiley admitted to having been drinking at the scene, though he was not tested. He pleaded guilty in April 2026.

On March 14, Thomas Hilditch, 35, deliberately rammed his silver Volkswagen Passat into the back of a motorcycle on Upper Barn Hill, Maidstone. CCTV footage captured the incident. Hilditch was more than twice the legal alcohol limit with 87 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath. He fled the scene but was later traced by police using the vehicle registration. He had cocaine in his pocket. The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries, described as a 'sore bottom'. Hilditch was charged with drink-driving, failing to stop after an accident, driving without insurance, driving without a licence, and possession of cocaine.
Pleaded guilty to all charges. Had a previous drink-driving conviction in 2008. Turned to drink and drugs after relationship breakdown. The court heard the motorcyclist had a 'sore bottom' at least.

Michelle Sutcliffe entered the parking area below Carton House in New Road, Chatham, just after midnight on December 13, 2025, and deliberately set a pile of rubbish alight between two parked cars. The fire spread, engulfing a Jaguar and other parked cars, causing extensive damage to the vehicles and light fixtures in the parking area. Residents feared an explosion and raised the alarm. She was identified via CCTV and arrested on December 19, 2025.
Pleaded guilty to arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.

On February 19, 2023, during a West Kent Sunday League match between Insulators FC and Dormansland Rockets at Maidstone Road, Paddock Wood, Daniel Marks, a 50-year-old spectator and registered player for Insulators FC, assaulted referee Peter Williams after receiving a red card for verbal abuse. Marks approached Williams from behind, grabbed him by the shoulders with force, causing him to fall and sustain a cut lip and neck swelling. The court determined it was an intentional assault without warning, though not a punch or rendering the victim unconscious. Williams suffered physical injuries requiring hospital treatment and ongoing mental trauma including PTSD, leading him to stop refereeing adult matches.
Ordered to pay £1,100 in compensation to the victim. Banned from contacting the referee for two years and must leave any venue where the referee is officiating for the same period. Pleaded guilty to assault by beating on the basis that he tripped over water bottles, but the court found he intentionally grabbed the victim from behind causing him to fall.

On July 19, 2025, Thomas Egan, who was living at his sister's house in Maidstone to support his addictions, returned home intoxicated. After she confronted him about the mess, he punched her repeatedly on the arm and forehead, causing a large painful lump and bruising. When her elderly German Shepherd dog, Steve, barked to protect her, Egan punched the dog multiple times on the head until it cowered and yelped. His sister locked the dogs in the garden and called the police, leading to his arrest.
Pleaded guilty to ABH and causing unnecessary suffering to an animal. Ordered to pay £500 compensation to sister, £114 victim surcharge, and £85 court costs. Five-year restraining order against contacting sister. History of six convictions including assaults on police and family members.

John Waller, 39, of Highland Road, Shepway, Maidstone, was driving a blue Ford Zetec in Queen Elizabeth Square, Park Wood, Maidstone, on May 27, 2025, when pulled over by police due to the vehicle's condition. A roadside test was positive for cocaine and cannabis. Blood tests at Medway police station confirmed he was over the limit for cannabis and benzoylecgonine (cocaine by-product). He was arrested, charged, failed to appear in court on October 13 and November 5, 2025, but admitted all offences on November 12, 2025.
Admitted two counts of drug driving and two counts of failing to surrender to custody. Placed on interim driving ban from November last year. Ordered to pay £114 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Cares for mother-in-law; failures to appear were due to her needs. On Universal Credit and carer's allowance.
