Jordan McCourt-Knight was part of an international organised crime group importing drugs from Portugal and supplying class A (cocaine, MDMA) and class B (ketamine, cannabis) drugs across the South West, Shropshire and Herefordshire. The investigation began in November 2019 when he left a bag containing a large amount of ketamine (street value £19,940 to £39,880) on a train at Newport station. He was arrested with class A and C drugs, £1,910 cash, drug paraphernalia and mobile phones including an Encro device used on the Encro-Chat app to coordinate drug sourcing and supply.

Elyse Hibbs, a 25-year-old prison nurse from Manchester, engaged in flirtatious calls and text messages with an unnamed inmate while working at HMP Parc in Bridgend, South Wales, since September 2018. She met the inmate during medical treatment. After he was moved to HMP Manchester in May 2021, he tracked her down via Instagram in June 2021 using his mother and a friend. They exchanged numerous texts and calls, including three-way calls and recorded prison calls, where they expressed love and discussed prison matters. The inmate had an illegal mobile phone and manipulated her. Hibbs asked him not to contact her at times but continued. She signed off sick in early June 2021 and resigned on July 6, 2021. Arrested on July 13, 2021, after her number was found on his approved calls list. She has been struck off by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and claimed she felt exploited and threatened.
Admitted misconduct in public office. Court heard she was manipulated by the inmate and got too deep. Expressed remorse. Defence argued she was young, impressionable, emotionally vulnerable, and did not gain financially or assist in crime. Judge noted she was in a position of responsibility and the offence was too serious for suspension.

Hassan Hassan, 20, of Adamsdown, was identified as the sole holder of the 'SPICE' drug line which supplied Class A drugs, including crack cocaine and heroin, to customers. He was arrested by Metropolitan Police officers in London on July 17, 2024, while attempting to hand over the mobile phone central to the police investigation. A forensic examination of his phone by South Wales Police linked him directly to the drug line, showing he sent bulk text messages offering crack cocaine and heroin to hundreds of people at a time. He was one of 25 people arrested in July 2024 by the Cardiff and Vale Organised Crime Team during a month-long crackdown that seized a quarter of a kilogram of crack cocaine and £17,000 in cash, and shut down 21 drug lines.

On August 1, 2024, Zackary Williams was reported for driving while intoxicated in Bridgend. He was spotted by police on Cowbridge Road and initiated a dangerous pursuit, reaching speeds of 70mph in a 40mph zone, ignoring red lights, overtaking into oncoming traffic, and attempting to reverse-ram a police car. He struck one vehicle and tried to force another onto the pavement and into a wall. The vehicle had false number plates, and he was subsequently arrested.

Various papers with step-by-step instructions for the preparation and production of amphetamine and receipts for the purchase of a hydraulic press were also recovered. A property in Derbyshire linked to David Allsopp was searched, yielding a further 22KGs of amphetamine, along with smaller quantities of Ketamine and Class A MDMA. A lockup in Blackpool linked to Allsopp contained 100 litres of acid, an industrial sized cooking vat, and paraphernalia for producing industrial quantities of amphetamine. In total, 50KGs of amphetamine were seized, with a street value estimated between £250,000 and £500,000. The chemical lab was dismantled.

He was part of the network that operated in Cardiff, Swansea, Port Talbot, and included a cannabis farm in Lampeter valued at over £500,000.

On 27 December 2023, Liam David Stimpson, 24, from Llanrumney in Cardiff, followed a vulnerable female living on the streets into a railway bridge underpass in Cardiff, where he assaulted her with a metal object, repeatedly punched her, and subjected her to a prolonged and violent sexual assault which he filmed using his mobile phone. The victim escaped naked and distressed to the Great Western Public House on St Mary Street, but Stimpson chased her, knocked her down in the city centre, and continued the assault, causing serious injuries including a fractured nose and significant eye damage. CCTV footage led to his arrest.
Found guilty of rape following an eight-day trial. Pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm. Put on the sex offenders register.

Liam Stimpson, from Llanrumney, Cardiff, raped and violently assaulted a woman in Cardiff city centre during the early hours of Wednesday, December 27, 2023, while celebrating his 24th birthday. The attack occurred underneath the railway bridge bordering Callaghan Square and St Mary Street. CCTV and mobile phone footage captured the incident. The assault continued even as the victim ran away shouting for help. Two witnesses, a bar cleaner and a delivery driver, intervened, and police were called. Stimpson was arrested within half an hour in Caroline Street and has been in custody since.
Denied four offences including rape and grievous bodily harm but was found guilty by a jury. Described as a dangerous individual and an absolute danger to women by Detective Inspector Katherine Barry.

Between June 2023 and May 2024, while director of Banwell Buses Ltd (trading as Beeline Taxis), Peter Roland Banwell falsified 26 LOLER safety certificates for wheelchair-accessible vehicles with lifting equipment, which were required for 14 contracts with Caerphilly County Borough Council to transport children to schools. The fraudulent certificates, including nine sent on 24 May 2024 dated for future 15 December 2024, enabled the company to receive £253,550 while operating nine defective and uncertified vehicles, two of which were unsafe. Upon discovery, the vehicles were suspended, Banwell admitted forging the certificates, and resigned as director.
Pleaded guilty. Judge acknowledged previous good character but admonished for stupidity and dishonesty, noting loss of good character and potential financial loss due to Proceeds of Crime proceedings.

Noreen O’Driscoll, 29, from Ely, assisted an offender following the murder of Colin Richards during a violent disturbance in the Heol-Y-Berllan area of Caerau, Cardiff, on April 7, 2024. She had sent threatening and insulting messages to Christian Morgan, a friend of the victim, which contributed to the escalation of events leading to the violence.
