Williams, a 55-year-old racehorse trainer, repeatedly struck Dandridge with a hockey stick, fracturing his arm and causing significant injuries. The incident stemmed from a misunderstanding where Williams' family mistook Dandridge, who was walking his dog in a dark paddock near a holiday cottage with torches attached to himself and the dog, for a 'lamper' poaching animals. This occurred against a background of prior issues with fly-grazing, hare coursing, and poaching on the land, including a frightening incident six weeks earlier where Williams was threatened with a shotgun by poachers.

He was naked except for black sliders on his feet, crossed the road towards her while shouting 'Come here! Come here!', and held his erect penis in one hand and his boxer shorts in the other. The woman told him to go away, phoned her father for help, and a passing motorist intervened. Warrington was arrested and claimed he did not think walking naked was illegal and that it helped relieve his depression. The victim reported ongoing fear, impact on her work, social life, and mental health, feeling wary of her surroundings and unsure of his intentions.

Kenneth Crane, 43, from Harvey Street in Barry, subjected his ex-partner Helen Carson to years of physical and sexual abuse starting after they moved in together around 2019. The abuse escalated from verbal belittlement and unfounded jealousy to physical violence, including hitting her over using the toilet first, grabbing a kitchen knife and threatening to gut her, strangling her against a doorframe until she couldn't breathe, locking her in the house overnight, and raping her after seeing a platonic message on her phone. He also threatened to share intimate photos online and controlled her social media. The relationship began in 2018 but deteriorated, leaving Helen psychologically scarred. Crane was arrested after Helen reported the abuse.
Pleaded guilty to sharing intimate images but not guilty to other offences; found guilty on all remaining charges following trial. Prior behaviour included verbal abuse and control.
Curtis Green

Curtis Green violently raped a woman by repeatedly hitting her in the face during sexual intercourse, ignoring her pleas to stop, and dragging her back to the bed when she tried to escape. The incident occurred when Green initially sought consent for sex, which the victim granted after his persistence. However, as the encounter progressed, Green became aggressive, punching her in the face and continuing the violence even as she begged him to stop and cried. He told her to 'shut up' and mocked her, saying 'Rhondda and Valley girls like sex like that.' When the victim attempted to flee, Green grabbed her wrists and dragged her back to the bed, hitting her multiple times more. The assault ended when the victim's screams startled Green, prompting him to flee in his underwear and socks. The victim photographed her injuries, which were presented to the jury during Green's trial.
Denied the charge of rape; found guilty by jury. Judge Eugene Egan described Green as 'sexually turned on by the use of violence,' noting his powerful, fit, and athletic build and how he 'brutalised the victim.'

On Sunday, August 10, 2024, at around 8pm, Mark McCarthy, 33, from Taffs Well, threatened another man with a large knife in the middle of Brook Street in the Riverside area of Cardiff during a street disturbance. Firearms officers were called following a 999 report. McCarthy fled but was traced and arrested within 30 minutes.
Pleaded guilty to threatening with a bladed article. Detective Constable Eleri Phillips hoped the sentence sends a message about accountability for using weapons.
Daffron Williams
Publishing material likely to stir up racial hatred *

Daffron Williams, a 40-year-old former soldier from Tonypandy, south Wales, who served in Afghanistan and Iraq between 2004 and 2011, made public Facebook posts inciting racial hatred between July 19 and August 11, 2024. The posts, visible to anyone worldwide due to his open profile, included racist comments before and after the fatal stabbing of three girls at a dance class in Southport on July 29, 2024. Specific posts referenced 'civil war' and 'bullets' the day after the incident, praised Tommy Robinson as a 'f***ing hero' after attending his rally on July 27, 2024, and urged action with statements like 'Let’s just do something FFS' and 'Come on guys, it is time to stand up.' He also posted AI-generated images and admitted to being 'racist as f***' towards those he felt disrespected British culture. Williams was arrested on August 11, 2024, after complaints to South Wales Police on July 31, 2024, and has been in custody since. He apologised and expressed regret to police.
Pleaded guilty to publishing material likely to stir up racial hatred. PTSD from military service considered mitigating, but posts were intentional and encouraged others to act. Has served community through charity events.
Billy Dyer

On November 20, 2023, Billy Dyer, 37, of Miskin Road, Trealaw, Tonypandy, attacked his employee Connor Clarke by punching him multiple times in the face after complaining about noise at a B&B in Tonypandy following a night out at pubs. The assault split the victim's lip, requiring stitches, and caused pain to his elbow and lower back. Subsequently, on February 2, 2024, Dyer attempted to pervert the course of justice by offering an acquaintance £2,000 to threaten and scare Clarke by warning of breaking his arms and legs if he testified, to avoid jail.
Pleaded guilty to wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm and attempting to pervert the course of justice. Has three previous convictions for battery. Judge Jeremy Jenkins noted he was 'far too fast to resort to violence when in drink'.
Casey Warren

On December 17, 2023, Casey Warren, 41, a children's football coach at Fairwater FC, strangled his wife of 20 years during a drunken argument at their home in Windrush Place, Fairwater, Cardiff, after she confronted him about messaging other women. He pushed her to the floor and continued strangling her despite their son's intervention. Warren then attacked his son with a smashed wine glass, wounding his forearm, while shouting aggressively and smashing items. The family fled, and police arrested Warren, who resisted. The incident caused significant emotional trauma to the victim, including depression.
Pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and intentional strangulation. One prior conviction for drink driving and driving without insurance. Judge noted offence too serious for non-custodial but considered family home impact.

Brandon Hayden, 19, of Penyrheol, Caerphilly, became the owner of the 100lb American Bully or XL Bully dog called Beast on November 3, 2021, after answering a Facebook advert offering it free to a good home, knowing it had issues with other dogs. He asked Amy Salter to look after the dog for a short period. Between November 4 and 7, 2023, the dog was aggressive, lunging at people including children outside the village shop Top Stores on Heol Aneurin, biting at least two people (Michael Ball and Sian Sullivan, who was injured on November 7), and attacking a neighbour's dog on November 5. On November 8, 2023, the unrestrained dog mauled 10-year-old Jack Lis to death while he was playing at a friend's house in Pentwyn, Penyrheol, Caerphilly, after school. Hayden arrived at the scene but failed to open the door and left as police arrived. The dog was later shot dead by armed police.
Pleaded guilty to being the owner of the dog that killed Jack Lis, and admitted a further five offences of owning a dog dangerously out of control between November 4 and 7, 2023. Banned indefinitely from owning a dog. Judge Michael Fitton QC noted the impact of his actions, irresponsibility, and thoughtlessness.

Harley Hall

Harley Hall was identified through messages on Jordan McCourt-Knight's Encro device as a key member of the drugs enterprise. He and McCourt-Knight sourced higher grade cocaine from international suppliers but fell out after customers complained about the quality due to cutting agents. A search of Hall's home found thousands of pounds in cash and over 1kg of cannabis.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to supply a class A drug (cocaine and MDMA), three counts of conspiracy to supply a class B drug (2 x ketamine and 1 x cannabis) and one count of possession with intent to supply cannabis.
