Offences discovered during Shared Regulatory Service (SRS) visits starting May 26, 2021, included rodent droppings, raw meat contacting cooked food, raw chicken juice dripping onto naan bread area, incorrect refrigeration temperatures, lack of food safety management, unclean and disrepaired premises, glue traps for mice, improper hand washing, a mouse running under a drinks machine, staff preparing raw meat without apron, outdated documentation, no staff training, and food kept at wrong temperatures such as rice at room temperature. Despite some improvements and voluntary closure, further offences were found in subsequent visits through December 2021. The premises had a history of similar issues over ten years prior, leading to an E. coli outbreak hospitalising nine people. No evidence of harm from the recent offences. The business has since closed permanently.

On March 28, 2023, at 12.49pm, Christopher El Gifari stole a delivery van from Laytonia Avenue in Cardiff. Delivery driver Mark Lang stood in front of the van to stop him but was driven over and dragged at least 743 metres along North Road in Cathays at 47mph, as recorded by speed cameras. The van stopped at the junction with New Zealand Road, and El Gifari fled the scene. Mark Lang, aged 54, sustained critical injuries, received help from members of the public and emergency services, but never regained consciousness and died 18 days later from his injuries.
Found guilty following a trial. Also sentenced to 10 years for robbery, to be served concurrently.

Police responded to the report, found Turner at the hotel, and arrested him on the scene. He was caught red-handed.
Caused almost £49,000 of damage to a hotel room. PC Gatt commented on the disregard for the hotel owners' livelihood amid the cost of living crisis.

Paul McGrath, 67, from Riverside, sexually assaulted an intoxicated and vulnerable woman at a bus stop outside the Admiral Napier Pub on Cowbridge Road East in Canton, Cardiff, at around 1am on April 14, 2023. The 22-minute ordeal left the victim unconscious and caused her extreme psychological harm. The incident was captured on CCTV. McGrath was arrested at the scene, intervened by members of the public including young men from Splott. He had been in custody since arrest.

Between 2013 and 2015, he hired a pool at Heronsbridge School in Bridgend to run a lifesaving club, where he assaulted two more girls around 2015. An investigation launched in 2018 after one victim came forward identified four other victims, leading to 28 charges including rape.

On May 6, 2019, he smashed her phone in a jealous rage after seeing a message from a boy, slapped her full force, threatened her and her family with a knife, and threatened to throw ammonia in her face to 'ruin her life'. He fled to Barcelona without permission, worked as a waiter, and returned in February 2021 after seeing a police appeal, where he was arrested at Heathrow Airport.
Pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order and criminal damage. Prior convictions for possessing a bladed article, harassment, and drugs matters. Made subject to a restraining order preventing contact with the victim until further order.

David Braddon carried out a merciless, sustained, and brutal attack on 18-year-old Conner Marshall at Trecco Bay caravan park in Porthcawl on March 8, 2015. Braddon, who was on probation for drugs offences and assaulting a police officer at the time and had previous convictions for domestic abuse, hit Conner with a pole, kicked him in the face and ribs, stripped him naked to humiliate him, delivered an uppercut that caused him to strike his head on concrete, and left him to die under a caravan. Conner, who had been enjoying an evening with friends and went for a walk along the beach to take pictures, was discovered the next morning with severe head injuries, taken to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff in a coma suffering from hypothermia, brain swelling, eye haemorrhage, and a forehead cut, and died four days later on March 12, 2015.
Sentenced in 2015 for the murder of Conner Marshall. Pleaded guilty to prior charges of entering into/being concerned in the acquisition/retention/use or control of criminal property and possessing a mobile phone in prison, but sentencing adjourned pending trial of co-defendants.
