He overpowered her, removed her underpants, and pressed his erect penis against her vagina, coming close to penetration. The victim escaped and immediately reported the attack. Koranteng was arrested at the club and later pleaded guilty to attempted rape.

Rasheed Jama, 20, carried out a series of violent and racially abusive acts across Cardiff. On 20 June 2025, after being detained by police and taken to University Hospital Wales, he became aggressive, spat at, kicked, and bit officers while shouting an antisemitic slur. He later stated he wished he had assaulted officers more. On 29 August 2025, he threatened to stab security staff at a shopping centre and threatened to rape a female police officer during his arrest. On 11 September 2025, at Penarth Labour Club, he struck a stranger on the back of the head with a hammer without provocation, causing a bleeding wound. Jama admitted 11 charges and had five previous convictions for 14 relevant offences.

On the night of 9 August 2025, Rhys Mew of Willow Road, Gurnos, Merthyr, fired a 9mm handgun during a chase of rival drug dealer Craig Harris on the Gurnos housing estate as part of an ongoing drugs feud. CCTV and video doorbell footage showed him with brother Jack Mew and Garyn Marshall-Palmer pursuing Harris down an alley in Magnolia Close. A spent cartridge was recovered; live ammunition found at family home; gun residue and cocaine deals in his bag. Facebook messages threatened Harris for robbing sales. Extensive phone evidence of supplying cocaine and crack cocaine, including £58,000 worth in deals. On bail at time for prior drug offences; arrested at Bristol Airport on 5 August 2024 returning from Turkey.

Thomas Harvey, 31, of no fixed address, engaged in multiple dangerous pursuits in Caerphilly: on June 8, 2025, drove a Vauxhall Insignia at over 50mph in a 20mph zone, swerving into oncoming traffic and running red lights; on February 16, 2026, drove a white Ford Transit van, ramming a police car causing injury to an officer; later took his mother’s Audi A3 without consent despite her refusal, rammed police van, drove on pavement, through stingers with deflated tyres, and was tracked by helicopter before being Tasered.
Admitted dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and without insurance, and taking his mother’s vehicle without consent. Had 36 previous offences including dangerous driving, violence and drugs. Judge condemned his behaviour as an 'absolute menace on the road' and his treatment of his mother.

Timothy Farrington, 55, from Cwmbran, South Wales, engaged in graphic online sexual communications with undercover police officers posing as 12- and 13-year-old girls between 3 July and 15 August 2023. Using the false name 'James', he requested naked pictures, asked one decoy if she was a virgin and wanted to 'lose it', suggested meeting at Cardiff railway station, and instructed them to delete messages. He suffered a heart attack during his arrest at his home.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child and two counts of attempted sexual communication with a child. Judge Lucy Crowther described the communications as 'graphic, vile and shocking'. Must register as a sex offender for 10 years. Suffered heart attack during arrest.

In January 2024, Steven Williams responded to an undercover police officer posing as a father on the Fetlife website seeking someone to 'join dad-daughter exploitation'. Over 46 days, Williams exchanged messages via Fetlife, Kik and Wire expressing a desire to have sex with the officer's supposed 14-year-old daughter, describing her as a 'teen rape toy' and wanting to be her 'perv uncle'. He also spoke of seeking a teenager for 'breeding' and claimed girls around 14 were 'easily trainable'.
Convicted following a trial. No previous convictions. Described as a dangerous offender with unmanageable sexual preference for pre-pubescent females. Will serve half in custody before release on licence. Subject to indefinite sexual harm prevention order and lifetime sex offender registration.

CCTV showed McGinn remounting and riding off, leaving Stone with fatal head injuries. She died in hospital four days later. McGinn later admitted wanton and furious driving.

Found guilty of 16 counts of rape, four counts of indecency with a child and four counts of indecent assault. Denied all offences. Prior: two-year supervision order aged 13 for inciting a child to commit an act of gross indecency; caution in 2006 for battery. Judge Neil Bidder QC noted high risk of serious harm to children, described offender as determined, dishonest, cunning, showing no remorse; significant effect on victim including poor school attendance, drinking and self-harm.

Urszula Glowacka, 42, of Abertillery, was part of an organised crime group involved in a large-scale drug supply network stretching across south Wales and the south-west of England. The operation involved cocaine, crack cocaine, MDMA, methamphetamine, and ketamine with a street value of more than £3.5m. She received instructions from an upstream supplier and her role involved collecting and distributing large quantities of drugs across the UK.
All five pleaded guilty at their sentencing hearing on Monday. Glowacka admitted conspiracy to supply cocaine, MDMA, methamphetamine, and ketamine.

Tyrell Eason, of George Street, Cwmcarn, Caerphilly, was pulled over by police on Boxing Day 2024 while driving a Volkswagen Golf smelling of cannabis. He handed over his iPhone, which began receiving drug-related notifications in front of officers. Phone examination revealed messages about orders for cocaine ('sniff and flake'), bulk advertising, stock levels and deliveries. A financial investigation showed thousands of pounds from customers. Eason admitted offering to sell cocaine and cannabis between November and December 2024. The operation was described as unsophisticated and small-scale with no lavish lifestyle. He had learning difficulties and no prior convictions. An 18-month delay occurred due to the investigating officer changing departments.

Yossa Maunders, also known as Andrew Yorath, sexually abused a young boy under 10 in the late 1980s, in a systematic campaign involving grooming, bribery with gifts such as a football, and threats to ensure silence. The abuse included buggery and oral sex. The victim suppressed the trauma until a nervous breakdown in 2019, after which he reported it to police. Maunders also abused a second boy around the same time in the grounds of a Cardiff hospital. The first victim described feeling guilty and ashamed, turning to drink and drugs; the second became reserved, struggled at school, and found trust difficult. Maunders was convicted at trial of 10 counts of indecent assault and buggery. He had a criminal record of 35 previous offences, many for dishonesty and sexual matters, including a 2006 extended sentence for abusing a five-year-old boy. Psychiatric reports noted borderline emotionally unstable personality disorder and a high risk of further sexual offending.

Zulfkar Ahmed, of Corporation Road, Grangetown, Cardiff, targeted a waitress at a cafe in Pontcanna over two and a half years, sending her thousands of text messages, buying gifts for her, and turning up at locations across Cardiff where she was present. Despite being told to stop, he continued and breached a stalking protection order by sending a further thousand messages. He also stalked a second woman working at a homeware shop in Cardiff, referring to her as 'the pretty blonde girl', leading to a warning from her employers.
Convicted at trial of two counts of stalking and one count of breaching a stalking prevention order. Judge noted paranoid personality rather than psychiatric disorder, no insight into offending and no remorse. Prior convictions for assault occasioning actual bodily harm (1992) and obstructing an enforcement officer (2012). Subject to 15-year restraining orders for both victims.
