Worthing Magistrates' Court Sentencing Results

On January 9, 2026, at around 3.20pm, Paul Hollywood was observed driving his Land Rover Defender at speeds up to 96mph on the M25 in heavy damp traffic, tailgating vehicles at distances of less than five metres and accelerating aggressively to bully cars out of the fast lane. He reached peaks of around 105mph on the M26. He explained his urgency was due to transporting his unwell cat to the vet.

Patrycja Perzynska was arrested in Ash Close, Littlehampton, on Sunday 7 December and charged with driving with 61 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath and driving while uninsured.

Clive Attrell was arrested in High Street, Angmering, on Tuesday 9 December and charged with driving with 78 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath.

Vasile Duca was arrested in Rectory Road, Worthing, on Monday 8 December while driving a yellow Ford Transit. He provided a breath sample containing 120 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35 micrograms.

Richard Cove persistently called Sussex Police's 101 non-emergency number between June 2023 and September 2024, posing as an elderly woman and using false names. He made more than 30 calls, on one day making 60 calls from his mobile device with his number withheld. He asked call handlers personal questions including the size of their feet and attempted to manipulate them into saying phrases such as 'cheesy feet' or 'smelly feet'. His calls amounted to more than three hours of wasted police time and targeted specific departments and officers, including those dealing with serious sexual offences and online child abuse.

Samir Muncey admitted possessing 5.529g of crack cocaine, a class A drug, in Bognor Regis on December 7, 2022. He was fined £40. No separate penalty was imposed for possessing 5.76g of diamorphine, also a class A drug.

Samuel Gibson admitted failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis when required at Worthing Custody Centre on 14 February 2026. He was fined £211 and his driving record was endorsed with ten points.

Exceeded a 30mph limit in contravention of a Local Traffic Order.

On November 6, 2025, Taylor Pragnell drove without insurance in Broad Piece, Littlehampton.

David Stewart was found guilty of failing to identify a driver when required by Sussex Police at Shoreham on May 25, 2025, and admitted speeding on the A27 Upper Brighton Road, Hillbarn, on January 29, 2025. He was fined £792 and a further £176, ordered to pay £650 costs and a £387 victim surcharge, and disqualified from driving for six months.

On March 28, 2026, George Cain admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place in Stoney Lane, Shoreham. He received a nine-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £85 costs.

Harry Smith admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent, causing harassment, alarm or distress, which was racially aggravated, and racially aggravated criminal damage by destroying fencing in Eastergate on January 26, 2025. He received a community order with 60 hours' unpaid work and was ordered to pay £300 compensation.

Hayley Reed made a threat to kill another person to a police constable in Worthing on 30 September 2024. She admitted the offence.

Used a passenger vehicle with tyres with insufficient tread and a tyre with ply or cord exposed.

Kevin Flynn was found guilty of drink-driving in Priory Avenue, Taunton, on 5 April 2025, with 58mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

Kyle Green admitted breaching a community order made by Worthing Magistrates Court on April 21, 2026, by failing to attend appointments on May 14 and May 21, 2026.

Clark admitted drink-driving with 44mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath in High Street, West Green, Crawley, on April 25, 2026.

On October 9 2025 on the A259 Brighton Road, Lancing, Lewis Humphrey exceeded the 30mph speed limit. He admitted speeding and was fined £40, with three penalty points endorsed on his driving record.

Mark Harrison admitted drink-driving with 85mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath at the Clover Leaf Roundabout, Steyning Road, Shoreham, on 9 November 2025. He was fined £300, ordered to pay costs and a victim surcharge, and disqualified from driving for 18 months.

Kept a vehicle without a valid vehicle licence.

Exceeded a 30mph limit in contravention of a Local Traffic Order.

Fletcher Johnstone admitted speeding by driving over the 30mph limit in Brighton on October 8, 2025. He was fined £76 and his driving record was endorsed with three points.

Jade McLean failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver or rider of a vehicle when required in Shoreham on July 28, 2025. She pleaded guilty.

Jocelyn Makin admitted stalking without fear, alarm or distress, causing repeated distress through persistent, unwanted contact in Goring on August 30, 2025. She was given a community order with a Building Choices programme requirement, a rehabilitation activity requirement, and 100 hours' unpaid work, and was given a restraining order.

Joseph Carman admitted possessing a hunting knife with a 17cm blade in a public place in Storrington on 27 May 2025. The court accepted he was genuinely fearful for his life and noted he took the initiative to call police.

Used a vehicle without third party insurance and drove otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

Liam Pettett drove dangerously on Western Road, Lancing, on 19 January 2026. He failed to stop when directed by a police constable and was found in possession of cannabis. He received a suspended prison sentence with unpaid work and a driving disqualification.

Lily Lotherington was found guilty of failing to identify a driver when required by Sussex Police in Shoreham on 13 August 2024.

Makinde Folorunso admitted failing to identify a driver when required by Sussex Police at Shoreham on July 31, 2025. He was fined £530 and disqualified from driving for 14 days.

Szymankiewicz breached a criminal behaviour order by being in Station Square, Bognor Regis, on April 24, July 31 and August 5, 2026.

Melissa Bandtock used a hand-held mobile phone while driving on the A259 at Southwick on 24 July 2025.

Paul Cockerill admitted speeding by exceeding the 40mph limit on the A27 Upper Brighton Road, Hillbarn, on November 1, 2025. He was fined £69 and his driving record was endorsed with three points.

Priscilla Winnan drove in Brighton Road, Worthing, on 6 March 2026 with 81mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. She failed to stop after an accident which caused damage to another vehicle and a whiplash injury. She was given a community order with unpaid work and disqualified from driving for 20 months.

Terry Kerbey drove on the A27 at Lancing on 18 August 2025 while disqualified from driving.

Kept a vehicle which did not meet insurance requirements.

Exceeded a variable speed limit.

Tobias Boyt drove dangerously in Shripney Road, Bognor Regis, on 17 September 2025 and possessed cannabis on the same date. He later admitted possessing half an ounce of cannabis in Grimsby on 29 November 2025.
