The incident occurred in front of shocked diners, resulting in the victim requiring stitches to his forehead and ear. Casey was motivated by jealousy related to a woman who is no longer with the complainant.

The offences were committed prior to his arrest, leading to a four-day trial in May 2025.

Robert Edwards, 67, of Lexington Drive, west Hull, was arrested in October 2015 for possessing indecent images of children as young as five years old. He fled to Belgium to evade justice and was rearrested in February 2025 upon his return to the UK, where police found additional indecent images on his laptop. The offences included 41 videos from 2015 and 53 Category A videos along with 43 videos from 2025. He had 49 previous convictions, none of a sexual nature.
Pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children. Absconded abroad, which aggravated the offending. Judge commented that it is not a victimless crime, as it exploits children and creates demand for abuse.

Ram Kusadia, a 69-year-old shop worker, sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl by smacking her bottom multiple times while she was shopping for chocolates in a store in Calvert Lane, west Hull, in October 2022. The girl was with a friend, and the incidents occurred as they discussed prices. She reported the assault immediately, leading to a police investigation and recovery of CCTV footage. Kusadia denied the charges but was convicted by a jury on January 31, 2025.
Convicted after a trial; judge branded him a 'dirty old man'; no further requirements on the sentence; has previous good character, and his age and health were considered.

Between January 29 and 31, 2024, and in March 2024, Christopher Dowse sent obscene, derogatory, and chilling messages to his former partner, threatening to throw her off the Humber Bridge, erase her from history, and take her body in the boot of a car. He also strangled her for two to three seconds after she accused him of taking drugs, causing her difficulty in breathing and leaving her feeling worthless and broken.
Admitted to stalking and was found guilty of strangulation. Had three previous convictions for seven offences, including common assault. Judge described him as a nasty bully towards women and viewed his remorse as superficial. A restraining order was imposed for three years.

Police Dog Frisco was deployed to assist in detaining him, but Watkinson assaulted the dog and its handler, causing injuries.
