Michael Lawrence was the skipper of a high-speed rigid inflatable boat operating a thrill ride in Southampton Water on 22 August 2020. He failed to maintain a proper lookout and failed to proceed at a safe speed, and the boat collided with a navigation buoy, causing fatal injuries to a teenage passenger and serious injuries to others. The coroner later highlighted that the skipper lost positional awareness and was operating alone without a lookout.

Naheed Ejaz, former mayor and mother of Diwan Khan, was convicted and sentenced for crimes described as vile and disgusting. She claimed evidence against her son had been planted.

Oliver Wareham, 29, crashed his Volkswagen Bora into a pony and trap on Portsmouth Road on 26 March. The victim, 33, who was in the trap, suffered fatal injuries and died at Southampton General Hospital. Wareham initially stopped but fled before police arrived, leaving his car. He called the police the next day to confess. Investigation showed he was speeding at 57mph in a 40mph zone and was over the drink-drive limit, proven by pub CCTV and till receipts.

Oscar Thompson, 61, of The Green, Elstead, Surrey, was caught travelling at 83mph on the A331 at the Blackwater Valley relief road, which had a 70mph limit, on 19 August 2019. He intercepted a letter sent to the vehicle's elderly female owner and replied pretending to be her, claiming she had been driving but was in the Royal Surrey County Hospital 'dying of cancer' and did not drive on dual carriageways or motorways. He produced two pieces of doctored dash-cam footage claiming the vehicle was at the hospital, but roadworks in the footage proved it was false. He also forged a hospital appointment letter and a car parking ticket for the same date in Guildford.

Paul Allen, aged 37, of Hinton Road in Newport, Isle of Wight, was arrested on 27 September 2021 for arranging to meet who he believed was a child at Newport Recreation Ground (undercover officer). He pleaded guilty to arranging the commission of a child sex offence and possession of cannabis at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court. Further investigation revealed he abused a 14-year-old boy met via Grindr in March 2021, including serious sexual assault in June 2021 in Carisbrooke woodland. Phone data showed messages to other children, indecent images, prior abuse of another teenage boy (2014-2016), and cannabis dealing.

Elliot Ayres, 18, of Merryman Drive in Crowthorne, and Paul John Stevens were in a stolen black Fiat 500 on Reading Road, Yateley, on 16 March 2021 when they saw the victim’s black Mercedes. The driver of the Fiat pulled in front of the Mercedes, blocking it, and aimed a shotgun at the driver. Stevens fired a single shot into the side of the Mercedes, causing significant damage. No one was injured. The victims were two 24-year-old men from Surrey, targeted due to mistaken identity. The Fiat was later found burnt out, and the sawn-off double-barrelled shotgun was recovered.

Philip Pidgley, director of FDS Waste Services Limited, received a sentence following the company's convictions for corporate manslaughter and other breaches of health and safety legislation after a trial in December 2022.

Officers attended McNaughton’s home on Saturday 4 December last year and seized a tablet, computer, laptops and a camera. Forensic examinations revealed 23,003 indecent images – including 18 movies – stored on a tablet. Of these, 608 were Category A, 969 Category B and 21,426 Category C. The files contained pictures of babies, toddlers and preteens. No evidence of distribution or conversations regarding child abuse materials. In interview, he admitted the tablet was his alone and that he was sexually aroused by the images.

On 13 April at 5.15pm, lorry driver Roy Woods collided with two motorcycles on Stockbridge Road, Leckford, after failing to notice them stopping to turn. The victim, 63, was killed instantly, and another rider was injured but later discharged from hospital. Investigators found Woods was engaged in a hands-free phone call via a mounted phone and headphones; the distraction caused him not to react in time.

On 12 May, Richard Storry drove his parents' Volkswagen Tiguan from Lasham Airfield to Basingstoke for a burger. Despite being nearly twice the drink-drive limit, he drove a quarter of a mile the wrong way down the A339 at Winslade and collided head-on with a Volkswagen Golf driven by the victim. The victim, from Alton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Richard Fuller evaded over £150,000 in Capital Gains Tax from the sale of properties in and around Aldershot in Hampshire between 2006 and 2013. The fraud, totalling £157,725, was discovered by HMRC's property task force. He was arrested at Gatwick Airport in October 2014 after returning from a holiday in Turkey. Following a trial in July, he was sentenced last week.

On Saturday 18 July 2020, the victim was knocked unconscious before his head was stamped on during a serious assault on Victoria Road in Aldershot.

Tiberiu Miclea, 42, from Bordon, was driving a blue Honda Civic on the A339 at Lasham around 7.30pm on February 12 when he crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a silver Toyota Corolla driven by the victim, 71. The victim's wife suffered serious injuries and the victim died in hospital three days later on February 15. Miclea himself was badly hurt and taken to hospital. He admitted causing the fatal collision.

Tenny Turner, 30, from Hook, lost control of his Citroen C2 on the A287 at around 12.45am on 25 February 2017. The car veered off the road, hit several trees, and flipped over. The passenger, 31, was thrown from the vehicle and died in hospital five days later. Turner was nearly twice the legal alcohol limit and was also found with cocaine. He initially blamed another man but police confirmed he was driving.
