He targeted female handlers, initiating sexual conversations, asking about secret sex clubs in gyms, legality of nudity in gyms, and more explicit sexual questions. He also exposed himself to a swimming centre lifeguard.
Described as a 'persistent' and 'high-risk sex offender' with past convictions for sex offences. Breached sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) issued in 2015.

On 22 February 2024 at around 10pm, Matthew Sylvester attempted to break into a shop in Telford town centre using a trolley. He covered his face with a jumper and fashioned a fake firearm from a brown paper bag to mimic a handgun. When police officers PC Dan Arthur and PC George Oliver arrived in response to the report, Sylvester charged at their patrol car, pointed the imitation firearm at them, threatened PC Oliver, kicked the vehicle, and attempted to open the boot. The officers pursued and tackled him, revealing his identity as he was known to police. He was found in possession of cocaine.
Pleaded guilty to all charges halfway through a week-long trial. Of no fixed abode.

On December 15, 2023, Daniel Dodd, aged 27, was working as a bouncer at Albert’s Shed nightclub in Telford town centre. The victim, a young dad in an intoxicated state, started to climb a fence outside the venue in Southwater. Dodd shoved the man in the chest, causing him to fall to the ground and suffer a fractured and dislocated ankle. The victim was taken to Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, where a metal plate was inserted into his foot, which will remain for life. He spent an extended period in hospital and was prescribed strong painkillers containing opioids for several months afterwards.
Used excessive and unnecessary force while working as a bouncer. Lost his job as a result.

Gavin Sloan, formerly of Briar Close in Minsterley, was arrested in May 2021 after West Mercia Police executed a warrant at his home, suspecting possession of indecent images of children. Searches revealed numerous videos of indecent images taken between 2013 and 2021, including one of Sloan sexually assaulting a young child. He committed a string of sexual offences against children and young people.
Pleaded guilty to more than 30 offences last month. Described as a highly dangerous individual who preyed on young and vulnerable victims.

Ben Markham, aged 28, of Worcester, broke down the front door using a crowbar to a home in Clee Hill on 10 November 2020, at around 4.00am, before going upstairs and threatening the victim in her bedroom. He forced the victim to open the safe in the property before taking a large sum of money and thousands of pounds worth of jewellery. The stolen jewellery, which held a great deal of sentimental value for the victim, has not been found.
Pleaded guilty to robbery. The incident was described as extremely traumatic for the victim.

Robert Norry, 36, of Brereton, Brookside, was found guilty following a trial of the rape of a girl under the age of 13, two sexual assaults of a girl under 13 by touching, and six counts of sexual activity with a girl under 16.
Found guilty after trial. Placed on the sex offenders register for life, given a 15-year restraining order and a 15-year sexual harm prevention order. Sentence later reviewed by the Court of Appeal and increased to 12 years (11 years in prison and one year on licence) on 3 October 2024 as unduly lenient.
