On Friday 27 May 2023, Oliver Barber, of Juniper Way in Shifnal, drove his BMW after drinking with friends in Shifnal. Despite being three times over the legal drink drive limit, the 20-year-old offered lifts to three people, including the 19-year-old victim. Shortly after, Barber collided with a fence on the A464 after reaching speeds of more than 60mph in a 30mph zone. The victim, a backseat passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. Barber suffered serious facial injuries and was arrested following a police investigation.

In March 2024, Jade Davies was at a house in Isherwoods Way, Wem, Shropshire with her dog, a Pit bull, which is a banned breed in the UK. The dog bit a West Mercia Police officer on the forearm and leg, causing a deep laceration. The officer has made a full recovery.

On 22 February 2024 at around 10pm, Matthew Sylvester attempted to break into a shop in Telford town centre using a trolley. He covered his face with a jumper and fashioned a fake firearm from a brown paper bag to mimic a handgun. When police officers PC Dan Arthur and PC George Oliver arrived in response to the report, Sylvester charged at their patrol car, pointed the imitation firearm at them, threatened PC Oliver, kicked the vehicle, and attempted to open the boot. The officers pursued and tackled him, revealing his identity as he was known to police. He was found in possession of cocaine.

David Wilkes was convicted of a campaign of violence and controlling behaviour against his former partner over a nine-to-ten-month period. The court heard he beat her with a hammer until she cowered in a car footwell, attempted to strangle her with a phone cord, forced her into the boot of a car, tied her wrists and ankles together, put a sock in her mouth and threatened to set her on fire. He also installed cameras to monitor her, glued a keyhole, and removed door and window handles to restrict her movements. The sentencing also included offences against another man.

In a taxi home he bit his partner on the thigh, slapped her and pulled her hair. When the taxi stopped in Newport, the victim tried to run, but McGrath chased her into an alley, bit her again and took a running kick at the back of her legs. He continued beating her in a doorway, pulled her to the ground by her hair, placed her in a headlock and kicked her viciously. A bystander intervened before police arrived. McGrath fled and was caught in the grounds of a school.
