At the time, Hudson was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed by Shrewsbury Crown Court in March 2025, which prohibited him from using the internet to contact or attempt to contact any female child under 16. These actions constituted a breach of that order.

On 22 January 2025, he carried out a second assault against the same victim and caused criminal damage to a glass panel belonging to another woman. Despite being released on bail by Shrewsbury Crown Court in September 2025 with strict conditions including a GPS tag and ban on contacting the victim, he breached bail. On 26 September 2025, he committed arson by setting fire to a property on Pauline Close in Ketley, endangering lives.

The offences came to light after he joined the police in January 2022; he was arrested in October 2022 and resigned in February 2023. Evidence showed he researched online about sexually assaulting drugged or unconscious individuals and had an interest in degrading and punishing through sexual abuse. One victim described him as a 'selfish, twisted, depraved bully' who threatened her to prevent reporting.

Officers seized his phone, revealing daily reports from a subordinate on sales, stock, and finances, with 21 income reports showing total earnings of £32,000, averaging £1,500 daily profit. This proved an organised, profit-driven criminal enterprise exploiting vulnerable people.
Pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A drugs (heroin). The sentence was welcomed by Detective Sergeant Patryk Ogonowski, who noted the sophisticated and profit-driven nature of the drugs line that harmed vulnerable people and communities.

Sean Cox, 21, of Severn Way in Cressage, Shrewsbury, was driving a Vauxhall Corsa with illegal front tyres below the legal tread depth on the wet B4376 road in Much Wenlock. He picked up his 17-year-old friend Madison Evans minutes before losing control and crashing into a tree at approximately 73mph on November 28, 2023. Madison was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries, pronounced dead at the scene. Cox initially claimed to be driving at 65mph on the 60mph road, but investigation revealed the speedometer fixed at 70mph post-crash.
Initially denied the charge but entered a guilty plea in November 2025 ahead of the trial. Judge's sentence commended by PC Steve Wootton for removing a dangerous driver from the roads.

Henderson-Jones pushed the officer, covered his face, followed him downstairs, punched him in the back of the head multiple times, causing PC Harper's left arm and upper body to go through a glass window, resulting in a fractured left eye socket. He also pushed PCSO Liz Walmsey into a wall. Henderson-Jones was arrested shortly after. He was charged with grievous bodily harm, assault by beating of an emergency worker, driving whilst disqualified, using a motor vehicle without third party insurance, and criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.
Pleaded guilty in September to all charges. Superintendent Edward Hancox commented on the violent and cowardly attack, emphasizing that violence against police officers is unacceptable.

Animals included 1,061 Leopard Geckos, 294 Sulcata Tortoises, 73 Hermann’s tortoises, and others. Specific failures included needs of 167 animals for appropriate environment, 83 for body condition, selling without licence, and causing suffering to 83 animals, two African grey parrots, 73 Hermann’s tortoises, and 15 quail. Additional animals found at other locations including Senorita Sparkles, Station Road, Newport, Shropshire.
Pleaded guilty to nine offences under the Animal Welfare Act. One charge pleaded on 4 October 2022 at Telford Magistrates’ Court, the other eight on 20 September 2023 at the court sitting in Birmingham.

Ufran Khan was spotted in a parked white Mercedes near a One Stop shop on Dawley Road in Arleston in February of the previous year, where police observed a drug exchange. He fled from officers, throwing class A drugs that landed in a child's pram and knocking over another child during the chase. He was apprehended and arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug. A subsequent search of his address on Acacia Drive in Leegomery uncovered additional drugs, including heroin, crack cocaine, and cannabis, with an estimated total value of £26,000.
Pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin, being concerned in the supply of cocaine, and two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. During the arrest, he knocked over a child and threw drugs near a pram, with further drugs found at his address valued at approximately £26,000.

Callum Roberts stole a silver BMW from a car park near St Julian’s Crescent in Shrewsbury on 15 February 2025 at around 10pm. He led police on a high-speed chase reaching 60mph in a 30 zone, narrowly missing another vehicle, before abandoning the car in Roden. A McDonald’s receipt in the vehicle led to his identification via CCTV. On 1 March 2025, he stole keys from an address on Brougham Square and took a Citroen C3 Aircross the following night. On 5 March 2025, he led another high-speed chase in the stolen Citroen, reaching 60mph in a 20 zone, driving the wrong way around a roundabout, and 100mph on the wrong carriageway of the A5, narrowly avoiding an HGV, before being caught. He also fraudulently used the Citroen owner's bank cards to buy McDonald’s after the theft.
Pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, fraud by false representation and two counts of driving while disqualified. Also given a four-year and two-month driving ban which will come into force on release.

On June 29, 2024, Richard Forbes, aged 46 and of no fixed abode, returned home drunk, assaulted his 64-year-old landlady who fled to a neighbour, then attempted to drive away in her car but was arrested. He boasted of harming her 22-year-old Pomeranian dog Comet, which was found with multiple stab wounds, a broken neck and jaw, wrapped in a blanket, and had to be euthanised. Sentenced alongside charges for grievous bodily harm from assaulting several people in Shrewsbury on July 28, 2023.
Pled guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, intentional strangulation, possession of a class A substance, failing to provide a specimen of breath, and grievous bodily harm from a separate incident. Also received a 30-year ban from owning animals, a 10-year restraining order against his landlady, and a six-year driving disqualification.

Between February and April 2022, Nicholas Peacock, a PC based in Market Drayton, engaged in a sexual relationship with a suspect in an assault case he was investigating. He failed to investigate fully, closed the crime falsely stating no witnesses and victim did not support prosecution. Allegations came to light on 22 April 2022, leading to his immediate suspension. The case was referred to IOPC, investigated, and charges brought. The original assault case was re-opened and a suspect charged.
Pleaded guilty in October 2024. Original sentence of 27 months reduced by one third for early plea. Resigned from West Mercia Police in March 2024. Will face misconduct proceedings.

Dean Hearson, 55, of Brown Edge, Staffordshire, committed offences in Staffordshire in the 1990s and early 2000s. The allegations were reported to police in 2018, leading to an investigation by the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences team.
Found guilty of 15 counts of indecent assault on a male and four counts of indecency with a child following a trial in October 2024. Placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Andrew Lane, 30, of Laburnam Lane in Telford, supplied class A drugs in and around Telford, making £5,000 a day which he used to fund luxurious holidays to Mexico, Turkey and the Netherlands. He was arrested in January 2024 following a warrant at his home based on intelligence of drug dealing. Released on bail, he was re-arrested in March 2024 with mobile phones seized, revealing evidence of county lines drug dealing.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. Funded lavish lifestyle including holidays to Mexico, Turkey and the Netherlands with drug profits of £5,000 a day.
Glenn Poyner
Rape of a child *

19-and-a-half years imprisonment with extended licence period of four-and-a-half years
Glenn Poyner, 35, a former RAF worker at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire, committed eight child sex offences against two girls, including four counts of rape, one count of assault by penetration, one count of causing a child aged under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and two counts of sexual activity with a child. The offences caused severe trauma to the victims, with one suffering social anxiety, nightmares, and sleep issues, and the other living in constant fear, jumping at sights associated with Poyner and believing her future has been affected. Poyner was housed on a military family estate near a primary school after guilty pleas in May, despite objections, but was moved after threats. The judge emphasized the need for close supervision post-release for public protection.
Pleaded guilty to eight child sex offences including four counts of rape. Judge considered him dangerous and imposed a sexual harm prevention order banning contact with victims. Eligible for parole after serving two-thirds of custodial sentence. Discharged from RAF in June.

Oliver Barber
Causing death by dangerous driving *

On Friday 27 May 2023, Oliver Barber, of Juniper Way in Shifnal, drove his BMW after drinking with friends in Shifnal. Despite being three times over the legal drink drive limit, the 20-year-old offered lifts to three people, including 19-year-old William Hubbard. Shortly after, Barber collided with a fence on the A464 after reaching speeds of more than 60mph in a 30mph zone. William Hubbard, a backseat passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. Barber suffered serious facial injuries and was arrested following a police investigation.
Pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving. Disqualified from driving for 11 years.

In March 2024, Jade Davies was at a house in Isherwoods Way, Wem, Shropshire with her dog, a Pit bull, which is a banned breed in the UK. The dog bit a West Mercia Police officer on the forearm and leg, causing a deep laceration. The officer has made a full recovery.
Pled guilty. A destruction order has been made for the dog, which is a Pit bull breed.

On Wednesday 4 March, officers on plain clothes patrol near Constitution Hill in Wellington saw Esten Bennett, 32, enter an address and then leave in a vehicle. He was followed and stopped at Hadley Park Services, where he was arrested. A search found a wrap of class A drugs, £170 in cash, and a mobile phone linked to a drugs line. Further enquiries linked him to the line set up on Tuesday 13 January, the day he was released from prison. The line was active for seven weeks, supplying drugs across Telford and Wales, estimated to have sold around 200 grams of crack cocaine.
Pleaded guilty. Set up drugs line on the day he was released from prison. Prior imprisonment mentioned.
