Scott Williams
Assault occasioning actual bodily harm *
Sentence
1 year imprisonment for ABH plus 2 months concurrent for breaching restraining order
Scott Williams, 34, of Coedpoeth, Wrexham, gave 'love bites' to a woman who was not fully conscious after consuming alcohol and taking sleep medicine on October 18, 2024. The incident caused extensive bruising to her neck. The following morning, October 19, 2024, he told her to look in the mirror and asked how she would go to work looking like that, knowing she worked with an ex-partner. She had ended their relationship in 2021 and he was subject to a restraining order from September 19, 2024. He breached the order by turning up at her home. She called the police when he refused to leave. Williams accepted lack of consent and was surprised at the bruising extent.
Pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Judge commented on the degree of humiliation caused and dismissed the 'prank gone wrong' claim. Defendant has undertaken courses but not the one on building better relationships; now alcohol free.

Stacey Louise Ince-Stamp
Causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal *
Sentence
Fined £120 and disqualified from keeping all animals for three years
Stacey Louise Ince-Stamp caused unnecessary suffering to her young male brown cross Weimaraner type dog, named Dougie, by failing to investigate and address the causes of his poor bodily condition, weight loss, and sickness. On January 21, 2024, RSPCA Inspector Anthony Joynes investigated an allegation of neglect at her address in Wrexham and found Dougie's deceased body in an emaciated condition in the rear garden, wrapped in a blanket next to a shallow grave. The dog weighed 9.7 kg with a body condition score of 1/9, showing visible spine, ribs, and pelvic bones. A post-mortem examination revealed no clear medical cause for the poor condition, but indicated generalised loss of muscular tissue, irritated areas in the large intestine, and the stomach filled with inappropriate human food like dry dog kibble, potato wedges, pizza, and a plastic object. The veterinary opinion was that Dougie suffered due to an inappropriate diet causing hunger, weakness, severe weight loss, and likely his death, which could have been prevented by seeking veterinary care earlier.
Pleaded guilty to one offence under the Animal Welfare Act. Ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £48.
Daniel Walker
Not wearing a seatbelt in a motor vehicle *
Sentence
£100 fine, £40 surcharge, £90 costs (total £230)

Pleaded guilty. To be paid in weekly instalments of £25 from October 31.

Admitted to 13 shoplifting offences. Sergeant Thomas Dewberry commented on the impact of retail crime and the priority of tackling such offences.

Inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent *
Sentence
10 months imprisonment
Michael Shuker assaulted David Webster in HMP Berwyn on July 6, 2024, causing him facial injuries. This attack occurred while Webster was on trial for murder, leading to a brief pause in proceedings for medical treatment.
