He forced the son to travel in the boot of his car to withdraw benefit money from cashpoints, as shown on CCTV. When unable to repay, he assaulted the son, breaking his jaw causing permanent disfigurement, punched him causing a black eye, and kicked the mother into furniture. Financial investigations showed £52,416 in repayments from 2020-2024 with no legitimate income.
Admitted charges of illegal money lending, money laundering, kidnap, assault causing grievous bodily harm and two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm. Sentences concurrent: 15 months for illegal money lending, 3 years for money laundering, 34 months for GBH, 25 months each for ABH, 4 years for kidnap. Hardman, of Norfolk Road, Barnsley, claimed he got caught up in events but the judge noted the major civil disorder was perpetrated by an ignorant mob of which he was part.
Pleaded not guilty but convicted. Showed no remorse. Also given a 10-year Criminal Behaviour Order and ordered to pay £228 in fees. Judge described the disorder as racist in character.
Ricky Bellion

Bellion had previous convictions for sexual assault against children. Lisa reported the abuse in 2019 after a breakdown. Bellion was arrested in December 2019 and stood trial at Sheffield Crown Court in November 2024, where he was convicted of four counts of indecent assault and four counts of rape. Sentencing took place in February 2025, with Bellion receiving 22 years' imprisonment, a one-year extended licence period, and a restraining order.

Myrtaj passed his victim on foot, before returning to his car which was parked nearby and driving around the town centre at speed looking for her. Once he located her at the Frenchgate Centre, Myrtaj left his vehicle to catch up with the victim, then dragged her back to his car before driving to a secluded location and raping her. Following a police investigation, Myrtaj was identified as the man responsible and he was arrested the following day.
