The arson followed Ali being dumped by Antonia Gawith, Bryonie's sister and his long-time partner, after years of abuse, violence, and manipulation. Drunk and under the influence of cocaine, Ali arrived with Calum Sunderland, who kicked in the door and fled. Ali poured petrol over Antonia and ignited it, leading to the house fire that killed Bryonie and the children. Antonia escaped but fought to save her family. The incident occurred after Ali's failed attempts to emotionally manipulate Antonia, including threats and self-harm videos.
Found guilty of four counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. Suffered physical injuries including burns requiring skin grafts and oxygen support.

The dog was moderately underweight with a body condition score of 2/9. This followed an advisory notice given to his mother on July 20, 2024, to improve the animal's care.
Admitted to the offence. Fell out with his mother and did not visit the property regularly. Living with a relative and sofa surfing with friends. Must pay £400 court costs and £114 victim surcharge.

British Transport Police stopped him after smelling alcohol, conducted a roadside breath test which he failed, and arrested him. His son was taken to the police station for safeguarding checks, and the e-scooter was seized.
