Graham Hughes hit his neighbour Paul Fox on the head with a baseball bat after Fox was drilling and sawing wood for a puppy kennel in his garden in Pentre Gwyn, Wrexham, on September 24, 2023. The incident followed a complaint from Hughes' father, Darren Hughes, about the noise. Hughes arrived on a bike, immediately struck Fox without warning, leading to Fox sustaining a bump on his head and temporary loss of work due to his partner's fear.
Defendant's barrister described his actions as stupid and regretted; judge stated people cannot take the law into their own hands and should call the police instead.
