Registered sex offender Graham Robinson, from Faversham, breached his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) multiple times between 2020 and 2022. Unannounced visits revealed undeclared phones, internet-enabled devices with wiping software, a tablet, USB drives, undisclosed bank cards and accounts, a flick knife and a credit card concealing blades. Forensic examination found over 460,000 images, including 138 indecent images of children (eight of the most serious category) and 23 extreme pornographic images.
Pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of a child, three counts of possessing extreme pornographic images, seven counts of breaching his sexual harm prevention order, three counts of failing to comply with notification requirements of the sex offenders register and having an offensive weapon in a private place. Previously convicted at Canterbury Crown Court in 2018 of possessing indecent images of children. Simon Brown, 28, from Chatham, fatally assaulted 71-year-old William Rowe following an argument inside a property in Mercury Close, Rochester, on the evening of Sunday 3 September 2023. Brown and a friend arrived around 11pm. After talking, Brown and Rowe argued, leading to Brown subjecting Rowe to a prolonged and vicious assault causing serious facial and chest injuries. Brown left around 4.30am on Monday 4 September without calling an ambulance. CCTV showed him returning later that evening but he collected his car and drove away, abandoning it in Chatham. He confessed to a family member two days later. Police found Rowe deceased under a blanket in the living room on Tuesday 5 September with injuries to head and body.
Admitted manslaughter after jury found him not guilty of murder. Must serve two thirds before applying for parole. Subject to extended licence period of four years.

Over 500 packages were seized containing around 3-4 tons of cannabis, estimated to be worth at least £10 million per year. He was arrested at a family address in Greenhithe on 20 April 2023 after returning to the UK.
Pleaded guilty to conspiracy to import cannabis and possessing cannabis with intent to supply. Previously from Whitstable, led the group from properties in Spain and Dubai.

Stephen Palmer, from Kings Hill, used the EncroChat handle ‘Palmbeach’ to communicate with criminals and arrange cocaine deals at almost £40,000 a kilogram, with hundreds of messages attributed to him also demonstrating involvement in ketamine supply. He was identified by images of him holding a fish and selling a vehicle, plus paperwork relating to a property in France with a UK address in Hythe. Arrested on 31 March 2023, with searches yielding a phone, £6,000 cash, two designer watches, and a cutting agent.
Pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and being concerned in the supply of ketamine.

On 21 January 2020, he supplied four ecstasy (MDMA) pills to a contact as a taster, promising 5,000 more. He was arrested after handing over the pills in a joint operation with Border Force.
Pleaded guilty on 15 April 2024 to two counts of supplying class A drugs. Sacked from Border Force. Weapons including lock knife, rambo knife, machete, knuckle dusters and baton found at home and car.

In early January 2024, Kent Police’s County Lines and Gangs Team identified the ‘MB line’ phone supplying heroin and crack cocaine to users in Medway. Odyssius Ojo, of no fixed address, was arrested in Snodland on 23 January 2024 for a separate matter. A search revealed he possessed the ‘MB line’ phone and a knife disguised as a keyring fob. He initially denied knowledge of the phone but later admitted sending multiple texts offering drugs for sale between 12 December 2023 and 23 January 2024.
Pleaded guilty. Held a key position in the drug supply network supplying heroin and crack cocaine via the ‘MB line’ phone in Medway. Also sentenced for possession of an offensive weapon (knife disguised as a keyring fob).

Alan Skinner, 57, of Millfield Road, West Kingsdown, set up a sham investment opportunity through Tritex Global Limited, a company he directed. He conned four victims into paying £159,000 for binary option trading, which was never invested as promised. Victims were cold-called in 2017, received misleading brochures promising account managers and customer service, and were given access to fake webpages showing investment growth. When they tried to withdraw funds, excuses were made, revealing the company had no money. This led to reports to Action Fraud and a subsequent investigation by Kent Police.
Pled guilty to conspiring to defraud those who invested with Tritex Global. Used the money to fund his own lifestyle.

Teodor-Alin Pirvu lured a woman to his home on Rochester High Street in April 2023 while she was waiting for a friend. Once inside, he subjected her to a prolonged and terrifying ordeal, demanding sex, punching and kicking her repeatedly, strangling her with a scarf, holding knives to her throat, and warning he would kill her. He prevented her from leaving until the next day, when she managed to escape with visible injuries including bruises, swelling to her face and head, and hearing loss. Police recovered the scarf and knives used in the attack, and Pirvu was arrested after the victim bit him on the cheek.
Pleaded not guilty and was found guilty after a trial. Described as 'dangerous' by the judge. Must serve at least two-thirds of the sentence before applying for parole and will be subject to an extended licence period of five years.
Vitlum Hasanaj

Vitlum Hasanaj, 36, was involved in the 'Vito Line' cocaine drugs network linked to around 100 deals. He was arrested on June 30 at Stansted Airport runway upon stepping off a plane. Detectives uncovered texts and photos on seized phones linking him directly to the operation. The network was toppled after undercover teams arrested suspects on May 2 and seized evidence.

His phone was examined and found to be part of a supply network active since April 2023, used to send bulk marketing text messages to more than 300 users. He was involved in dealing class A drugs, which fed violence and criminality in the community.
Pled guilty to supply of cocaine. PC James O’Gorman noted that Burr was dealing on a very significant scale with a criminal network across west Kent.
Clifford Cage

On July 6, 2023, Clifford Cage, 50, of Rochester, was riding his electric bike on the pavement along City Way in Rochester on his way to work when he struck 91-year-old Jim Blackwood, who was taking out his bins. Cage had started cycling on the pavement after two near misses with cars on the road. He estimated his speed at around 12mph and did not see Mr Blackwood, who stepped out from behind an overgrown bush that the family had previously complained about. Mr Blackwood was taken to hospital, his health deteriorated, and he died three months later on October 13, 2023. It was accepted that the impact caused his death. This case is considered a legal first for manslaughter conviction related to cycling on the pavement.
Plea changed to guilty in October 2023. Expressed genuine remorse, stayed at scene and called 999. Judge noted he should not have been riding on the path in that way. Described as a decent human being by defence.

Mohammed Sait, an NHS consultant orthopaedic surgeon, charged private health companies AXA PPP and Aviva for £17,636 worth of procedures he had not carried out between 2011 and 2015. He forged letters from these companies and presented them during an internal investigation at Fawkham Manor Hospital in 2016. This conduct was aggravated by prior inappropriate behaviour and occurred during his work.
Abused a position of trust; demonstrated limited remorse and very little insight; did not attend the tribunal; risk of repeating conduct.

A search of his Vauxhall Corsa revealed 11 wraps of cocaine hidden in an air vent, £360 in cash, and a phone with messages indicating drug supply. He was charged with intent to supply drugs and possessing criminal property. During interviews, he denied dealing and claimed the drugs were for personal use.
Pleaded guilty. Was found with cocaine and cash in his car, and had links to an organised crime group.
Roqia Ghulami

Roqia Ghulami neglected her two-year-old adopted daughter, Zahra Ghulami, by failing to intervene or protect her from abuse at their home in Gravesend, Kent, in May 2020. She was aware of her husband's violent behaviour, including previous incidents where he banged heads against walls, and did not act to prevent harm. Zahra suffered a skull fracture that led to her death on May 29, 2020.

Jan Ali Gholami murdered his two-year-old daughter Zahra Ghulami by inflicting catastrophic brain injuries on 27 May 2020, likely by throwing her to the floor or against a wall. He created a false alibi by going shopping and photographing another child before leaving the house. Zahra was taken unresponsive to Darenth Valley Hospital with a large swelling to the back of her head; he claimed she fell downstairs while he was out. She died two days later in King’s College Hospital. Post mortem revealed earlier suspicious injuries, including a similar traumatic brain injury days prior when his wife was in hospital giving birth, and a fractured upper arm weeks before, which caused pain but was not treated medically.
Convicted of murder and child cruelty. Pleaded not guilty. False alibi attempted with shopping receipt and photo of another child.

Jan Gholami murdered his two-year-old adopted daughter, Zahra Ghulami, by bashing her head against a wall at their home in Gravesend, Kent, in May 2020, causing a severe skull fracture from significant impact. Zahra was taken to hospital on May 27, 2020, and died two days later on May 29, 2020. Prosecutors stated he acted out of bad temper following a rivalry between Zahra and his favourite son. On July 27, 2023, police conducted a raid at an industrial estate near Bethersden, Kent, after identifying David Allen's involvement in drug dealing. They found him with over 60 kilograms of amphetamine, more than 1 kilogram of cocaine, approximately £70,000 in cash, two viable firearms (which he claimed were antiques), drug packaging, money counting machines, needles, syringes, and a cocaine purity test. At his nearby home, police seized 25 designer watches, ledgers recording deals, a CS spray, and a knuckleduster. The drugs were estimated to have a street value of around £500,000.
Admitted to charges of possessing amphetamine and cocaine with intent to supply, three charges of possession of a prohibited firearm, and possessing criminal property. Detective Inspector Stacey Chapman commented on the seizure of drugs and weapons, highlighting the violence associated with drug dealing.

Aiman Aziz and Ayoub Omer were involved in a violent assault on three victims in Rochester on January 22. After being ejected from a nightclub near Blue Boar Lane for Aziz headbutting a man, they lay in wait and attacked the victims. Aziz headbutted one victim again and used a baseball bat to beat the others, breaking the bat in half. The victims sustained facial and head injuries, including a fractured skull and a bleed to the brain.

She also encouraged him to breach bail conditions and reported him, resulting in further imprisonment. Evidence later showed she withheld key information. Additionally, in June 2018, she fraudulently applied for a £5,000 grant from the Police Welfare Fund by falsely claiming financial hardship due to moving homes from alleged abuse.

Aurel Birlan repeatedly assaulted and raped his victim while she was unconscious in a public place during the early hours of one morning in December 2021. CCTV footage captured the victim's repeated pleas for him to stop and showed she was unconscious for more than an hour.
