Esan had purchased a set of knives from Argos days earlier and conducted online searches about knife attacks, including the murder of Lee Rigby. He approached Teeton pretending his moped had broken down and asked to use his phone before launching the assault. The attack was described as vicious and deliberate, targeting Teeton due to his British military uniform. Teeton sustained severe wounds to his neck, chest, abdomen, groin, arm, and thigh but survived due to quick intervention by his wife Eileen Teeton and members of the public. Esan, who has schizophrenia, was influenced by psychosis but also premeditation and planning.

Searches revealed two used condoms with DNA matching both Lootfun and the victim, as well as semen stains in her room matching his DNA profile. The offence involved significant planning and an attempt to cover up the crime by disposing of evidence within plastic gloves.

Between 2013 and February 2019, Michael Stanley operated a Ponzi-style scheme under the name 'Layzey Racing Syndicate', disguised as a lay betting horse racing gambling scheme. Over 6,000 members invested a minimum of £44.2 million, but Stanley used new investments to pay earlier members, lied about successful gambling, inflated investment values, and paid money into his own accounts. The scheme collapsed in February 2019, resulting in an overall net loss of at least £10.5 million. Stanley benefited by at least £4 million, using funds for a lavish lifestyle including 23 racehorses, a villa and apartment in Spain, new Land Rovers, private number plates costing £15,000, and expensive jewellery.

Between January 2020 and March 2021, he contacted five unknown children via social media, requesting images of them in underwear or performing sexual acts, and in one case, incited a child to abuse their two-month-old relative for £1,000. He sent indecent images and videos of himself and requested private calls for further abuse. Additionally, in February 2021 and February 2024, he approached children in parks in Sittingbourne, making indecent suggestions, including to two children on swings in 2024, from which he fled after being told to leave.
Pleaded not guilty to the latest offence and was convicted after a trial. He had previously pleaded guilty to other sex offences and was subject to bail conditions at the time. He will serve two-thirds of the sentence before being eligible for parole, followed by two years on licence, and must sign the Sex Offenders' Register and comply with an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Nicholas Fryers, a 57-year-old serving prisoner on day release from HMP Standford Hill, attacked his work colleague by stabbing her more than 70 times with a screwdriver in a car park at a Sainsbury’s distribution centre in Dartford on April 9, 2023. He had become obsessed with the victim, buying her gifts and wanting to be her 'boyfriend on the side', but she rejected him and ended their friendship. He lured her to his car under false pretences, pulled her to the ground, and stabbed her in the head, chest, and back. Two co-workers intervened, and he fled the scene but was later arrested in Lancashire.
Pleaded not guilty and was found guilty after a trial. The attack was planned and described as sustained, brutal, and frenzied by witnesses.

He conned four victims into paying £159,000 for binary option trading, which was never invested as promised. Victims were cold-called in 2017, received misleading brochures promising account managers and customer service, and were given access to fake webpages showing investment growth. When they tried to withdraw funds, excuses were made, revealing the company had no money. This led to reports to Action Fraud and a subsequent investigation by Kent Police.
Pled guilty to conspiring to defraud those who invested with Tritex Global. Used the money to fund his own lifestyle.

Teodor-Alin Pirvu lured a woman to his home on Rochester High Street in April 2023 while she was waiting for a friend. Once inside, he subjected her to a prolonged and terrifying ordeal, demanding sex, punching and kicking her repeatedly, strangling her with a scarf, holding knives to her throat, and warning he would kill her. He prevented her from leaving until the next day, when she managed to escape with visible injuries including bruises, swelling to her face and head, and hearing loss. Police recovered the scarf and knives used in the attack, and Pirvu was arrested after the victim bit him on the cheek.
Pleaded not guilty and was found guilty after a trial. Described as 'dangerous' by the judge. Must serve at least two-thirds of the sentence before applying for parole and will be subject to an extended licence period of five years.

On July 6, 2023, Clifford Cage, 50, of Rochester, was riding his electric bike on the pavement along City Way in Rochester on his way to work when he struck 91-year-old Jim Blackwood, who was taking out his bins. Cage had started cycling on the pavement after two near misses with cars on the road. He estimated his speed at around 12mph and did not see Mr Blackwood, who stepped out from behind an overgrown bush that the family had previously complained about. Mr Blackwood was taken to hospital, his health deteriorated, and he died three months later on October 13, 2023. It was accepted that the impact caused his death. This case is considered a legal first for manslaughter conviction related to cycling on the pavement.
Plea changed to guilty in October 2023. Expressed genuine remorse, stayed at scene and called 999. Judge noted he should not have been riding on the path in that way. Described as a decent human being by defence.

This conduct was aggravated by prior inappropriate behaviour and occurred during his work.

Jan Ali Gholami murdered his two-year-old daughter Zahra Ghulami by inflicting catastrophic brain injuries on 27 May 2020, likely by throwing her to the floor or against a wall. Zahra was taken unresponsive to Darenth Valley Hospital with a large swelling to the back of her head; he claimed she fell downstairs while he was out. She died two days later in King’s College Hospital. Post mortem revealed earlier suspicious injuries, including a similar traumatic brain injury days prior when his wife was in hospital giving birth, and a fractured upper arm weeks before, which caused pain but was not treated medically.

On July 27, 2023, police conducted a raid at an industrial estate near Bethersden, Kent, after identifying David Allen's involvement in drug dealing. They found him with over 60 kilograms of amphetamine, more than 1 kilogram of cocaine, approximately £70,000 in cash, two viable firearms (which he claimed were antiques), drug packaging, money counting machines, needles, syringes, and a cocaine purity test. At his nearby home, police seized 25 designer watches, ledgers recording deals, a CS spray, and a knuckleduster. The drugs were estimated to have a street value of around £500,000.
Admitted to charges of possessing amphetamine and cocaine with intent to supply, three charges of possession of a prohibited firearm, and possessing criminal property. Detective Inspector Stacey Chapman commented on the seizure of drugs and weapons, highlighting the violence associated with drug dealing.

On July 30, 2023, Jason Brown was observed by Kent Police’s Proactive Targeting Team conducting a drug deal in Sheerness, where he passed something to a man from his Citroen van. Police stopped the van, seized cash, cocaine deals, and a mobile phone. Further class A drugs were recovered from his home address. He was arrested and later charged.
Pled guilty to drugs charges. Was on licence following a previous drug-related prison sentence. Detective Constable Alex Burgham noted that Brown was supplying cocaine and was caught in the act.
