They laundered profits through Chris O'Shea in Hatton Garden, exchanging cash for clean money, gold bars (10-15 at £40,000 each), and designer watches.

In June 2021, from Famagusta, Cyprus, he made repeated attempts to contact the victim in England via phone calls and messages, threatening to distribute the footage to other members of her family. On 30 June 2021, after a male relative answered the phone and demanded he leave her alone, Christou sent the sexually explicit video to the relative via WhatsApp. Kent Police arrested him on 8 August 2024 in Rochester after he returned to the UK.
Pleaded guilty to disclosing a private sexual film with intent to cause distress, as well as making threats to disclose the same material. Age 49. Remains subject of an extradition hearing relating to alleged domestic and sexual offences in Cyprus.

He was arrested on 11 April 2024 when found in the child’s bed, breaching the order which prohibited unsupervised contact or communication with anyone under 16.

Luke Seffens, 34, conducted a sustained campaign of domestic abuse against his partner between September and December 2023, including random acts of violence, constant demands for proof of whereabouts, and stalking at her workplace. In December 2023, he subjected her to a brutal attack in a flat, beating her repeatedly, breaking a coffee mug on her head, and holding her captive while threatening to stab and strangle her. The victim escaped the next day, leading to his arrest. Despite conditional bail, he continued contacting her. In July 2024, he fled police in Tunbridge Wells town centre, leading to a chase ending in woodland near Vauxhall Lane where he was apprehended with Police Dog Elsa.

The victim was lying down on a nearby wall when Fletcher suddenly approached and violently assaulted him, later returning to stamp on his defenceless victim a second time, leaving him with facial injuries. The victim was taken to hospital and discharged. Fletcher was located nearby, arrested, and a large bag of cocaine was recovered when searched.

Ryan James, aged 41, started two fires deliberately in his flat on Dudley Road in Tunbridge Wells town centre, one in the bedroom and one in the living room, at around 11.30am on August 24, 2024. He then locked the front door behind him and left the building. The fire alarms alerted residents and emergency services. Neighbours attempted to enter the locked flat believing he was inside but had to evacuate due to danger. Kent Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire. James was arrested two days later with the front door keys in possession. The act endangered lives in the building.
Pleaded guilty. Extended prison sentence.
Huseyin Kalyoncu

Huseyin Kalyoncu beat his girlfriend Sonia Parker to death following an argument over her use of WhatsApp at their shared home on Styles Close in Edenbridge on 5 May 2024. He knocked her unconscious. She suffered 69 injuries including internal bruising, liver damage, and multiple bone fractures, some predating her death by weeks. Paramedics pronounced her deceased shortly after.

Seyi Odeyemi

Seyi Odeyemi met the woman after she went to an event in Camden in September 2023 and was trying to organise a taxi back to her home in East London. He offered to drive her home if she contributed £20 towards the cost of petrol and, as she thought she had previously met him at a friend’s party, she agreed. She blacked out during the journey, having only vague memories of what happened to her after this. She woke up the next morning to find herself in a hotel in Gravesend, in pain and only then realising that she was in Kent. Odeyemi had pre-booked a room there, where he attacked her. After waking the next morning, she facetimed a friend and, during the call, Odeyemi spoke to the friend, using offensive sexual terms when describing the woman.
Convicted of rape following a trial. Also convicted of breach of a Sexual Risk Order and given a two-and-a-half-year sentence to run concurrently.
Ashley Steel
Possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis *

Ashley Steel was part of an organised crime group that supplied vast quantities of cocaine and cannabis. He directed associates to addresses linked to him for exchanges of cash and drugs. Police seized ten kilograms of cannabis and 150 grams of cocaine concealed in vehicles at his business units, along with around £5,000 in cash. He also possessed an offensive weapon, a knuckle duster.
Pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine and cannabis with intent to supply and possessing an offensive weapon.
Aden Maynard
Multiple drug offenses and possession of a knife *

On July 13, 2024, police responded to a disturbance in Hornbean Avenue, Tunbridge Wells. Aden Maynard acted suspiciously, fled into nearby woodland, and discarded a shoulder bag. Police Dog Charlie located the bag containing cocaine, ketamine, and cannabis worth over £30,000, cash, and a knife. Investigation linked him to the 'AD line' drug network via CCTV footage, sales receipts, and phone evidence.
Pleaded guilty to multiple drug offenses and possession of a knife. Played a key role in a drug supply network operating across west Kent.

Robert Gunner targeted children over a three-year period, committing horrific offences. Kent Police received allegations and arrested him, seizing his laptop and mobile phone, which contained 226 illegal images of children, including 27 of the most serious category, and eight extreme pornographic images. These actions left the victims with traumatic memories.
Pleaded guilty to causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, making indecent photographs of children, causing a child to watch a sexual act, and possessing an extreme pornographic image. The judge stated he was a dangerous offender who posed a serious risk to children. On release, he will be on licence for three years, subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 20 years, and on the sex offenders’ register for life.
Anthony Esan
Attempted murder *

On July 23, 2024, Anthony Esan attacked Lieutenant Colonel Mark Teeton in Sally Port Gardens near Brompton Barracks in Chatham, Kent, by repeatedly stabbing him with a knife. Esan had purchased a set of knives from Argos days earlier and conducted online searches about knife attacks, including the murder of Lee Rigby. He approached Teeton pretending his moped had broken down and asked to use his phone before launching the assault. The attack was described as vicious and deliberate, targeting Teeton due to his British military uniform. Teeton sustained severe wounds to his neck, chest, abdomen, groin, arm, and thigh but survived due to quick intervention by his wife Eileen Teeton and members of the public. Esan, who has schizophrenia, was influenced by psychosis but also premeditation and planning.
Pleaded guilty to attempted murder and possession of two bladed weapons. Sentenced by Mr Justice Picken, who noted the attack was targeted and deliberate, influenced by psychosis and a grudge against the Army. Presents a significant risk to the public and is unlikely to be released. Will be detained in hospital for as long as necessary, then transferred to prison if appropriate.
