Found guilty by a jury in December 2024 of six offences. Already serving a term from 2021 for rape, sexual assault, and making indecent images of children involving a different victim. The sentence will run alongside the existing term. Judge Emma Peters commended the victim's bravery and resilience.

Henry Smith broke into the Roydon property of Philip Murton, 82, and Pam Murton, 81, in November, ransacking the home and stealing a gold bracelet, gold watch, an unknown amount of cash and other assorted items. None of the items have been recovered. He left a crowbar at the scene on towels, which the victims' children preserved for evidence. DNA from the crowbar led to his arrest.
Sentenced after police matched his DNA to a crowbar left at the property. Arrested at an address in Sudbury around a month after the burglary.

Police stopped Ismailaj, 23, driving a grey Mercedes on the A14 near Felixstowe in April. Officers seized his mobile phone which contained messages about drug supply. A subsequent raid on a flat in College Street, Ipswich, uncovered £6,360 in cash and cannabis. Analysis showed he was coordinating cocaine supply across Ipswich, Stowmarket and Bury St Edmunds. He sent 175 drug-related messages per day on average.
Found guilty after a six-day trial. Jury deliberated less than two hours. Court ordered forfeiture of £6,360.

Kevin Prewitt, 37, of Myrtle Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk, and his partner Rachel Burrows subjected two children under 10 to an abhorrent campaign of abuse over more than a year, including rape and production of indecent images and videos. Police discovered a 10-second indecent film and messages on his phone in April 2020, leading to seizures from both homes. Skype conversations from January 2020 showed their plans. Victims likely to develop complex PTSD.
Admitted serious charges of sexual abuse of a child including rape, three offences of making indecent images of children, and two offences of inciting or causing child exploitation. Defence noted engaging with services in custody. Judge Rupert Overbury described acts as beyond depraved, despicable, inhuman and sadistic.
David Wilson
Child sex offences *

David Wilson, from Kirstead, King's Lynn, Norfolk, set up fake social media profiles using unregistered phones to prey on 52 boys aged between four and 14. Between May 2016 and April 2020, he sent images of girls to trick boys into sending indecent videos and images of themselves, then blackmailed them to produce more extreme material, including abusing younger siblings or friends, threatening to distribute it online unless they complied. The National Crime Agency identified evidence of him approaching over 5,000 children globally.
Pleaded guilty to 96 child sex abuse offences. Judge Rupert Overbury described the crimes as a vile catalogue of abuse, among the worst he had seen in his 40-year career, and labelled Wilson a serial paedophile with a sadistic sexual interest in young boys.
Dean Smith

Dean Smith of Peddars Way, Lowestoft, was discovered hiding under bedding during a police raid at a caravan on November 14 last year. Officers found cannabis on the kitchen worktop and bedside table, 76g of cocaine in pockets of black jackets within the caravan, along with scales, a quantity of money and two mobile phones.
Pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of criminal property and possession of cannabis.

Christopher Southart was arrested during a police operation on 11 September 2019 at Flowton near Somersham, following the recovery of around two kilogrammes of cocaine. A large amount of cash and a Range Rover were also seized. He pleaded guilty to possession of drugs with intent to supply cocaine.
Pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing in January 2020.

On March 29, 2020, Craig Johnson, armed with a knife and carrier bag, entered McColl’s convenience shop in Church Street, Eye, grabbed a female member of staff by the neck, dragged her around the shop floor, held the knife to her neck while demanding money and trying to open the tills. He left without stealing any money or items but dropped the carrier bag; the victim was left shaken with cuts and bruises. He also robbed a shop in Leiston on the same day. Arrested the following day.
Pleaded guilty to one count of robbery and one count of attempted robbery. Was on parole serving an extended six-year licence from a previous sentence. Has previous convictions for conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery.
Damian Sadowski
Attempting to meet a girl under 16 following grooming *

Sadowski, 37, from Yeoman Close in Ipswich, targeted a decoy account he thought belonged to a 14-year-old girl. On March 2, 2025, he sent a Facebook message to the decoy account. Within the first four messages, the account stated she was 14, to which Sadowski replied that he was 37 and much older. He gave the girl his phone number and moved the conversation to WhatsApp, where the exchange quickly became sexual and he sent her an explicit image. Sadowski also offered to pay for a train ticket so she could meet him the next day, telling her not to tell anyone. The conversation was reported to police, and he was arrested on April 10. He was later charged on December 29, 2025.
Pleaded guilty to attempting to cause or incite a girl aged 13-15 to engage in sexual activity, attempting to meet a girl under 16 years of age following grooming, and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

Gavin Seagar, a 43-year-old gas engineer from Aldham End, Elmsett, Suffolk, carried out a string of thefts across the eastern region in 2018 and 2019. While carrying out legitimate work, he made excuses to search other rooms for easily concealable items including jewellery and cash. Incidents included stealing an engagement ring from a woman in Ashford, Kent (held for over 50 years, priceless from late husband); over £16,000 worth of jewellery from West Malling, Kent (including rings from late husband); a watch bought in 1966 from a property in Middlesex (irreplaceable, from victim's merchant navy days); valuable rings from two properties in Mildenhall; and significant quantities of cash from addresses in Felixstowe, Suffolk, and Swanton Morley, Norfolk.
Pleaded guilty to nine counts of theft from a dwelling following an investigation by the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU).

Grant Borroff, 55, from Colchester, Essex, used a camera to take indecent photographs of children as young as one year old, including zooming into a child's private parts, and upskirted young schoolchildren in Colchester. Devices seized contained 66 Category A images, 119 Category B images, and 2,220 Category C images. He referred to the images as 'trophies' in police interview after initially giving no comment.
Admitted three charges of making indecent images of children, three charges of taking indecent images of children, one charge of possessing a prohibited image of a child, one charge of possessing an extreme pornographic image, and one charge of voyeurism. Ordered to carry out an accredited programme, 60 days rehabilitation activity, one-year mental health treatment requirement, and GPS monitoring tag for six months. Registered sex offender for ten years. Judge Samantha Leigh noted a degree of planning involved.

Edmund Hall, 47, of Dunlop Road, Ipswich, downloaded more than 200 indecent images and videos of children, including babies under a year old, using search terms including 'babies', 'paedo', 'younger' and 'rape'. Material included 58 images and 55 videos in category A, 60 images and 16 videos in category B, 15 images in category C, plus a prohibited image. He distributed indecent images to like-minded people and advised on hiding material. iPhone seized from his home by police in May 2021.
Pleaded guilty to three offences of making indecent images and videos of children, one offence of possessing a prohibited image of children, five offences of breaching a sexual harm prevention order and four offences of distributing indecent images of children. Judge Emma Peters described some material as horrific, noting his interest in sexual abuse of babies. Previous convictions for making indecent images dating back to 2013. Indefinite sexual harm prevention order to continue; sign sex offenders register indefinitely.

He attended different locations in Essex to meet the victim but they never met. He was arrested in December 2020 following police investigations into his mobile phone and charged in June 2021 with two offences under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
Pleaded guilty to arranging or facilitating commission of a child sex offence. Also handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Stephen Kilpatrick

In August 2020, Stephen Kilpatrick collided with cyclist Ian Baxter (late 70s), catapulting him off his bike and leaving him in a coma for two weeks, requiring seven weeks in hospital. Kilpatrick initially did not stop but returned later, having seen damage to his wing mirror.
Licence revoked. Judge noted his voluntary decision to stop driving as a responsible attitude. Claimed he thought he hit a tree branch.

Thomas Singleton was arrested by the National Crime Agency in February 2021 after investigators found he had accessed and amassed over 1,050,448 indecent images of children (categories A-C), 45,216 prohibited images of children, 52 extreme pornographic images, and a 170-page 'paedophile manual' with instructions on abusing children from his home in Framlingham, Suffolk. Devices seized included laptops, digital storage, a toddler-sized doll, and collections of underwear and clothing for babies and young children. He created pseudo-images by superimposing himself into photos to appear as if engaging in sexual activity with children.
Pleaded guilty to all eight charges. Also subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex Offender Register indefinitely.
