The assault was interrupted by a friend of the victim who heard cries. The victim emerged with visible facial injuries including bruising and a bite mark on her cheek. The victim described the lasting emotional impact, feeling violated, ashamed and overwhelmed.

A tracking device was found in a family member’s car and a listening device in a plug socket at her workplace. Further devices were uncovered during police searches. Webb was arrested on May 3, 2023, and electronic devices were seized from his home. He initially pleaded not guilty to section 4A stalking but later pleaded guilty to section 2A stalking.

An investigation was launched in December 2025 after one young victim disclosed the assault. His phone revealed further offences against a second child. Printed indecent images were found hidden in his bedside drawers: three Category A, four Category B, and 12 Category C. Charged on 2 April 2026 with two counts of breaching his SHPO and three counts of possessing indecent images of children.
Already subject to a 10-year SHPO from 2023 conviction for attempting to incite a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity. Court also ordered destruction of his mobile phone and a revised indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

He was approached by officers in the Lake Avenue area of Bury St Edmunds and seen to discard a quantity of white wraps and a larger item into a bush. Officers found a number of wraps and grip seal bags of white powder (cocaine) and a mobile phone. The phone matched the number police were aware had been involved in the supply of drugs in the Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket areas.

Jake McMillan visited Mr McNicholl's home on Hawthorn Drive, Ipswich, on New Year's Day 2025 (1 January 2025), where he inflicted head injuries and a stab wound to the right shoulder, causing his death. McMillan and Mr McNicholl knew each other, with contact primarily for Mr McNicholl to purchase drugs from McMillan. Evidence included CCTV showing McMillan as the only person entering the area who did not leave quickly, finger and palm prints plus DNA matching McMillan in the property, footprints in blood matching McMillan's trainers, and CCTV/GPS data confirming McMillan disposed of the victim's mobile phones in the River Orwell after the visit.

Wren accessed and disclosed confidential police information to the woman without legitimate purpose, breaching professional standards. The IOPC investigation began after a referral from Essex Police in September 2022, leading to his arrest in November 2022 based on monitoring of his work mobile phone. The investigation concluded in January 2024, with charges authorised by the CPS.

On November 8, 2025, Josef Zielinski was pulled over in Sudbury based on public intelligence linking his vehicle to drug supply. When officers PC Owen Turner and PC Steven Coughlan attempted to engage, he reversed the car, forcing PC Turner to hang onto the side fearing for his life, while PC Coughlan was knocked over and dragged along, suffering minor injuries including scarring, rib injuries, and a destroyed mobile phone. The car crashed into a parked vehicle. After the crash, ten wraps of cocaine were found discarded under the vehicle. Zielinski was detained and admitted to the offences in December 2025.

Hafez Ashraf Uddin, a 71-year-old former Islamic teacher who worked in Ipswich, committed 13 counts of indecent assault against six girls aged between seven and 14. The assaults occurred between 1985 and 1999. He abused his position of trust in the community, subjecting the young girls to shocking assaults, some on multiple occasions. The crimes had a long-lasting impact on the victims, who did not report them at the time for various reasons.
Found guilty after a four-week trial. Ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life and made subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Charged with 22 counts but convicted on 13 relating to six girls; not guilty on nine counts relating to seven girls total.

Anwarul Islam, formerly of Springett Avenue, Ringmer, East Sussex, met a woman in her 30s through a mutual contact over the phone. They exchanged voice notes and agreed to meet the next day at a pub in Elmswell, more than three years ago. While out together, Islam followed the victim into a toilet cubicle and raped her, also committing sexual assault. He had researched hotel rooms on his phone and suggested booking one together prior to the incident. The victim reported the trauma in a personal statement, describing profound sadness and difficulty processing the event.
Found guilty of one count of rape and one count of sexual assault at an earlier hearing. Concurrent 6 years for sexual assault. Ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register and handed an indefinite restraining order. Eligible for release after two thirds of sentence, followed by extended licence.

Justin Brason, a senior salesman for Riva Surveyors Ltd, participated in a fraudulent operation targeting elderly homeowners in Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, and Norfolk. The company cold-called or visited victims claiming to offer free loft inspections. Once inside, residents were falsely informed of serious roof defects like damp, mould, or infestations, and pressured into paying inflated prices for unnecessary spray foam insulation, with threats that their roofs would become structurally unsound if untreated. Out of 20 affected victims, six proceeded with the work, resulting in significant financial losses; two had to remove the insulation at additional cost to remortgage or sell their homes. The scam caused severe anxiety and health impacts on victims.
Ordered to pay £1,500 compensation at £75 per month from February. Judge noted high culpability and harm but accepted no further complaints since investigation started.

On November 19, 2024, at about 2.30pm, Lewis Meadows, then 18, was driving a white Nissan GTR in Church Road, Felixstowe, when he collided with 74-year-old pedestrian Mary Kinsey, who later died in Ipswich Hospital. Investigations revealed Meadows had a history of reckless driving, with deleted videos on his phone from as far back as 2023 showing him driving at high speeds and attempting dangerous manoeuvres in rural and urban areas, including prior to obtaining a licence and while disqualified. Vehicle data showed he had destabilised the car and switched off the dynamic control system. He was arrested, treated in hospital, and charged after questioning.
Pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving at a hearing on September 9. Disqualified from driving for seven years.
Nolan Akuoko

On November 22, 2024, in Woodbridge Road, Ipswich, Nolan Akuoko, along with Keon Graham and Dylan Craft, was involved in an attempted drug deal that turned violent. Akuoko messaged the 33-year-old victim, whom he knew from prison, to meet at The Drift off Woodbridge Road at 6.45pm for a favour. Upon the victim's arrival, Akuoko pulled a gun from his bag and pointed it at the victim, causing cash to fall out and leading to a struggle where the gun discharged a blank round. The victim was then stabbed seven times and slashed across the face by Graham during the fight. The group intended to buy six kilos of cannabis. Police recovered £12,430 in cash, a machete sheath, and a blank round casing; the machete and gun were disposed of in the River Orwell. The victim required surgery and was discharged after two days.

Christopher Nind, a 46-year-old from Felixstowe, Suffolk, was investigated after Suffolk Police's Internet Child Abuse Investigation Team attended his home on 6 December 2023. He was arrested on suspicion of making, taking, possessing, and distributing indecent material. Police seized 30 electronic devices, including hard drives and media cards. Forensic examination revealed 532 category A images, 907 category B images, and 42,157 category C images, plus 274 category A videos, 450 category B, and 234 category C videos. Nind also created images of himself engaging in sexual acts while viewing child sexual abuse material, adding horror masks and fingers to known abuse images. He pleaded guilty to six counts of making indecent images of children. On 3 November 2025, he was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court.

Benjamin Woodrow subjected a woman to prolonged and degrading abuse, including waking her up in the early hours by slapping and punching her after reading messages on her phone, strangling her with both hands, locking her in a bathroom for eight hours by throwing the key out of a window and taking her phone, repeatedly assaulting her by punching or slapping during this time, forcing her to drink a bowl of his urine, using degrading language, and threatening to harm her if she stopped. He also checked her phone, used derogatory names, and threatened to harm her or himself. Woodrow was arrested three days later after a third party tipped off officers, bailed but later breached conditions by contacting the victim and threatening to harm himself.
Guilty verdict by jury on charges of assault by beating, false imprisonment and using controlling or coercive behaviour. Also handed a seven year restraining order.
