Once inside, residents were falsely informed of serious roof defects like damp, mould, or infestations, and pressured into paying inflated prices for unnecessary spray foam insulation, with threats that their roofs would become structurally unsound if untreated. Out of 20 affected victims, six proceeded with the work, resulting in significant financial losses; two had to remove the insulation at additional cost to remortgage or sell their homes. The scam caused severe anxiety and health impacts on victims.
Ordered to pay £1,500 compensation at £75 per month from February. Judge noted high culpability and harm but accepted no further complaints since investigation started.

Officers found Kai Fraser, 25, of Lodore Gardens, Edgware, London, in a field about half a mile from the prison, holding a drone controller with a drone by his feet and a large package of drugs and mobile phones attached to one of the machines. Fraser fled but was arrested after a short chase through the fields. All items, including the drones, were destroyed.

From February 2023, Luke Large exchanged messages of a sexual nature with a child he did not know, who stated she was 13 years old. He told her he was depressed and asked for nude images and videos, claiming he would otherwise harm himself. The communication was reported to officers in November 2023. After inquiries by South Wales Police, Large was identified at an address in Stowmarket, arrested, and electronic devices were seized. The investigation found images of the victim shared to other messenger accounts, and indecent images of children saved from the internet, including 11 category A images, 11 category B images, and one category C image, as well as extreme pornography. Further analysis showed another app used the previous year to save and share photos, videos, and persistently ask an unknown female for nude images.
Pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of a child and one count of engaging in sexual communications with a child. Made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years. Will take part in a rehabilitation activity programme. This behaviour, part of a fetish, involved taking 704 photos and videos dating back to 2016. Victims, including women who regarded him as a grandfather figure, reported feeling shocked, sickened, and violated, with one reading a victim impact statement in court.
Admitted to one charge of voyeurism and five counts of recording an image under clothing without consent. Judge David Wilson described the offences as a gross betrayal of trust and noted the scale, duration, and catalogue of the offending. He had previously received a suspended sentence and a caution for voyeurism in the early 2000s.

On August 10, 2024, Daniel Martin, 29, of Felix Road, Felixstowe, struck Charlie Greaves, 25, of Ipswich, in the face following an argument about Mr Greaves' dog not being on a lead during an incident on Felixstowe seafront by Undercliff Road West. Mr Greaves fell backwards, hit his head, and suffered a traumatic brain injury. He was unconscious and treated by paramedics but died the next morning at a home in Carr Road, Felixstowe. Martin was arrested on suspicion of murder on August 12, 2024, and convicted of manslaughter on May 13, 2025.
Initially charged with murder, charge reduced to manslaughter. Denied the offence but was convicted by a jury.

Police attended an address in Twickenham Avenue, Brandon, on July 28, 2025, where they discovered a large cannabis grow containing 1,209 plants. Arben Meta, 24, of no fixed abode, was found hiding in a box within the roof lining of the building and arrested at the scene.
Pleaded guilty to production of cannabis. Ordered to pay a £187 victim surcharge.

Igor Ikoniak, aged 21, targeted women between October 2024 and February 2025 while they walked along a footpath in Yarmouth Road, Ipswich. He exposed his penis and masturbated in front of them, grabbed one victim while doing so, and pulled at another victim’s backpack. One victim was pregnant at the time.
Judge David Wilson noted the courage of his victims contrasted with Ikoniak’s cowardice; required to spend a further three years on extended licence after release.

Mahmut Dagdelen engaged in social housing fraud over a six-year period by submitting false housing applications to Ipswich Borough Council, claiming household income less than £15,000 per year and inability to afford private lodgings, while privately renting and owning three commercial properties bought outright in 2016. He obtained temporary accommodation from April 2017 to January 2018, then a three-bedroom council house. The fraud was discovered in July 2023 when he applied to buy the property under the Right to Buy scheme, revealing his mortgage and savings. He vacated the property in July 2023, costing the authority £158,000.
Found guilty of five counts of fraud on April 7. Ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid work and pay £5,418 in costs to Ipswich Borough Council.

Paul Whyman, director of Dragon Wood Homes Ltd, repeatedly failed to address serious fire safety issues at Cliff House, a flat complex on Chevalier Road in Felixstowe, located on the site of a former hotel. An enforcement notice was placed in 2017, and in 2018, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service identified multiple breaches including inadequate compartmentalisation. Despite opportunities, the necessary work was not completed, and deficiencies persist eight years later.
Pleaded guilty to all charges on February 5, 2025. Ordered to pay £15,000 in legal costs.
Arber Dashi

Arber Dashi, 27, of Bromford Rise, Wolverhampton, was involved in an organised crime gang operating cannabis factories in Ipswich and Felixstowe. A fingerprint and phone evidence linked him to a cannabis factory in London Road, Ipswich, discovered in April 2024, containing 373 cannabis plants worth over £180,000. Phone evidence also connected him to another factory in Langer Road, Felixstowe, found in June 2024 with 81 plants and harvested cannabis. He was arrested on February 6, 2025, in the West Midlands with items used in cannabis cultivation. He admitted knowledge of the Ipswich grow.
Pleaded guilty to being concerned in the production of cannabis. Initially pleaded not guilty but changed plea in June. Judge ruled he was in contact with individuals managing both factories and at least as involved as Esat Dashi.
Alex Stokes
Having penetrative sex with a 15-year-old *

Alex Stokes, a 32-year-old man from Northamptonshire, met a 15-year-old girl and her friend at the Latitude Festival at Henham Park near Southwold on July 23, 2022, at 11pm. He falsely claimed to be a security guard, though he was actually a steward who had been dismissed earlier that weekend for failing in his duties and should not have re-entered the site. The girls informed him they were 15 and had consumed alcohol. They spent time with him in a music tent where he gave them more to drink. Afterwards, Stokes had penetrative sex with the victim. The girls escaped by saying they needed to use the toilets. A festival-goer noticed their distress, and the victim disclosed the incident. At the welfare tent, the safeguarding lead called the police. Stokes was identified as the suspect on July 25, 2022, via a social media video and arrested two days later by Northamptonshire Police. He was bailed with a ban on contacting the victim or her friend. Charged in November 2023 after a year-long investigation.

Thomas Jeffery, 35, of Horseman Court in Martlesham Heath, smashed at least 17 shopfronts in Ipswich town centre using a skateboard on the evening of April 30 to May 1, 2025, causing nearly £100,000 in damage. Damaged premises included Barclays, Honey & Harvey, Lush, EE, Time2Vape, Central Canteen, Zest, The Falcon pub (twice), Premier, Subway, Observatory Opticians, Choices Healthcare, plus two unknown properties and a resident’s premises. He was arrested at Major’s Corner during the early hours of May 1, with officers called to the scene at 12.40am. Originally charged with 17 counts, one charge was withdrawn. He was in breach of a Community Behaviour Order from October for threatening words or behaviour and another from November for criminal damage.
Admitted 16 counts of criminal damage. Found in breach of Community Behaviour Order. Ordered to pay £50 or face five days in prison. Forced to pay £154 surcharge. Time already served on remand.
Nigel Moyes
Stalking and Arson *

Nigel Moyes, 62, formerly of Primrose Way, Ipswich, committed stalking causing serious alarm/distress and two counts of arson. The stalking escalated into dangerous and destructive behaviour, including arson.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of arson and one count of stalking involving serious alarm/distress. Made subject of a restraining order for 10 years and GPS monitoring for six months.
