Charles died in hospital on 22 June from a single 12cm stab wound to the chest. Within the first four messages, the account stated she was 14, to which Sadowski replied that he was 37 and much older. He gave the girl his phone number and moved the conversation to WhatsApp, where the exchange quickly became sexual and he sent her an explicit image. Sadowski also offered to pay for a train ticket so she could meet him the next day, telling her not to tell anyone. The conversation was reported to police, and he was arrested on April 10. He was later charged on December 29, 2025.

The behaviour began in 2011 out of ‘inquisitiveness’ and later became a habit. Henry had attempted an overdose after his arrest the previous year and had suffered the deaths of his first wife and son.

Alex Baldry, 24, of Ashcroft Road, Ipswich, distributed indecent images of children in a secret Telegram group with 112 participants and possessed 929 indecent digital items depicting children aged from six months to teenagers. The images were discovered after a police raid in March 2023. He pleaded guilty to making indecent photographs of a child in categories A, B, and C, distributing indecent photographs, and obtaining an article to assist in computer misuse offences. Malware was also found. Recorder Emma Nash stated the material was not a made-up digital world but horrific, depraved, disgusting sexual abuse of children.

On 4 July 2022, Alexander Cornell, 27, from Britannia Road in Ipswich, stabbed a 41-year-old man three times in the back and neck at Parkway multi-storey car park in Bury St Edmunds. The victim suffered muscle damage from a wound approximately three inches long. Cornell had become obsessed with the victim's 39-year-old partner, with whom he had worked for five years, and repeatedly ignored her statements that there was no chance of a relationship. He was arrested the same day. Cornell was found guilty of attempted murder following a six-day trial at Ipswich Crown Court on 23 January 2023.

He sent 175 drug-related messages per day on average.

He was charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine between April and May 2021, and possession of a knife in a public place. Evidence showed he controlled a drug supply line under the moniker 'Josh' and organised the flow of crack and heroin into Bury St Edmunds between April 2020 and April 2021. He had previously served a prison sentence for possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

Edmund Hall, 47, of Dunlop Road, Ipswich, downloaded more than 200 indecent images and videos of children, including babies under a year old, using search terms including 'babies', 'paedo', 'younger' and 'rape'. Material included 58 images and 55 videos in category A, 60 images and 16 videos in category B, 15 images in category C, plus a prohibited image. He distributed indecent images to like-minded people and advised on hiding material. iPhone seized from his home by police in May 2021.
Pleaded guilty to three offences of making indecent images and videos of children, one offence of possessing a prohibited image of children, five offences of breaching a sexual harm prevention order and four offences of distributing indecent images of children. Judge Emma Peters described some material as horrific, noting his interest in sexual abuse of babies. Previous convictions for making indecent images dating back to 2013. Indefinite sexual harm prevention order to continue; sign sex offenders register indefinitely.

Jason Woodley, 60, of Millers Close, Walsham-le-Willows, stabbed a man and his 16-year-old son in Ixworth with a penknife attached to a key ring. He then confronted the pair at a bus stop. The victim has been left permanently disabled since the attack.
Pleaded not guilty implied; Judge Kelly described behaviour as "disgraceful". Banned from contacting victims for 10 years.
James Cornell

James Cornell, a 26-year-old convicted sex offender from Colchester, was originally sentenced in 2018 for luring two young girls into a wooded area, which led to a seven-year sexual harm prevention order prohibiting him from deleting any internet or search history. In June 2024, he breached this order by deleting sexual WhatsApp conversations, including messages, voice notes, photographs, and videos, with female escorts. During a routine meeting with an officer, he presented his phone which had been wiped of these exchanges. The material involved consenting adults and was not criminal, but the deletion constituted the breach. Cornell, who works as a car salesman, admitted eight counts of breach at Ipswich Crown Court and was sentenced to a community order.

On 23 March 2020 at around 5.30am, Jordan Carr and an accomplice forced their way into the rear door of the Tesco Express in Lawson Place, Bury St Edmunds, while two female staff were opening up. The victims were threatened with knives, separated, and one was dragged to an office where a safe was kept. The offenders stole over £2,200 in cash, a bottle of Jack Daniel’s whiskey, mobile phones and car keys, escaping in a Suzuki Alto. Carr was arrested on 30 March 2020. Additional theft and bladed article offences from Sainsbury’s in Bedingfeld Way on 19 February 2020 were taken into consideration.
Pleaded guilty to robbery and being carried in a conveyance taken without authority. Two further offences of theft from shop and possession of a bladed article taken into consideration. A third charge of possession of a bladed article was left to lie on file.
John Britton
Dangerous driving and threatening with an offensive weapon *

In May 2023, John Britton became enraged by the cautious driving of Martin Palmer on a diversion route through Elmstead Market, Essex. Britton tailgated Palmer's vehicle, flashed his lights aggressively, and overtook before braking suddenly. Palmer pulled into a layby and upon exiting his car, Britton retrieved a baseball bat from his vehicle and threatened Palmer. When Palmer challenged him, Britton returned to his car and deliberately drove it towards Palmer, forcing him to leap into bushes to avoid being struck. Britton denied charges of dangerous driving and threatening another with an offensive weapon but failed to attend his trial, leading to a conviction in absentia.
Pleaded not guilty; convicted in absentia. Prior convictions for rape, actual bodily harm, and racial harassment. Mitigation: stress from caring for elderly parents and recent breakup.
John Elsley

John Elsley, a 70-year-old from Halesworth, Suffolk, sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl in October 2023. The offences included assault by penetration and two sexual assaults. The girl was found clutching her teddy bear after the assault and later wrote down what happened as she was unable to confide in an adult. Elsley was arrested by Suffolk Constabulary and later sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court.
Pleaded guilty to assault by penetration and two counts of sexual assault. Judge Martyn Levett said: 'You totally corrupted this little girl’s innocent childhood.' Also given a lifelong sexual harm prevention order, required to register as a sex offender for life, and a restraining order prohibiting contact with the victim or her family.
Kastriot Rexha
Conspiracy to supply cocaine *

Kastriot Rexha, 24, of no fixed address, was involved in a drug supply network operating between London and Ipswich, supplying cocaine between December 2020 and July 2022. The operation led to the seizure of £50,000 in cash, Rolex watches worth £25,000, cocaine valued at £10,000, and other assets. Warrants were executed in July 2022 in Ipswich and London areas.
Pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine.
Kyle Bunn
Making indecent images of children and attempting sexual communication with a child *

Between 22 and 24 January 2023, Kyle Bunn exchanged messages with an undercover police officer posing as a 14-year-old schoolgirl. He sent explicit videos and images, asked for images, and encouraged her to engage in sexual activity. Police later found over 140 indecent images of children on his devices, including 33 Category A images depicting victims aged from 18 months to 17 years. Bunn was described in court as extremely immature and someone who had spent most of his life at home online.
Admitted to three counts of making indecent images of children, attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity, attempting to engage in sexual activity in the presence of a child, and attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child. Also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years, ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, and up to 40 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days.

Kyle Lambton, 37, of Avondale Road, Lowestoft, entered a residence in the early hours of 13 March 2023, around 1:15am, while the family was home. He went directly to a schoolgirl's bedroom, placed his hand over her mouth, and kissed her forehead. The victim screamed, alerting her father and brother, who confronted Lambton, causing him to flee. He was arrested shortly afterwards. Lambton admitted consuming alcohol and approximately a gram of cocaine that day. He pleaded guilty to sexual assault, stating he had no memory due to intoxication. At Ipswich Crown Court, he was sentenced to three years' imprisonment and given an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.

Lesley Collins
Attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child *

Lesley Collins, 48, from Stradbroke near Eye in Suffolk, used the alias Rod Collins to send a Facebook friend request to a profile of a fictitious 13-year-old girl operated by the Child Online Safety Team. He moved the conversation to WhatsApp between 4 and 7 July 2024, repeatedly asking for photographs including underwear shots. On 7 July 2024, he live-streamed a video of himself performing a sex act to the decoy. The vigilante group tracked him to his home, confronted him, and called police. He admitted the actions and expressed remorse.
Pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause or incite a child to look at imagery involving sexual activity. Marriage ended, lost his job. Also ordered 120 hours unpaid work, up to 50 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days, and 12 sessions with an accredited mental health programme.
Kerri Keen-Watts

On 30 October, Kerri Keen-Watts attended a support centre in Museum Street, Ipswich, despite being banned. She produced a bottle of ethanol, spread it on the floor, threatened to 'light them all up' and attempted to ignite matches while other people were present. She was disarmed but continued trying to start a fire before leaving. She then sent threatening messages to a youth worker at another location. She was arrested shortly afterwards.
Pleaded guilty to attempted arson with intent to endanger life and sending a communication threatening death or serious harm. Five-year restraining order also imposed.
