On October 9, 2023, in Broadbridge Heath, West Sussex, shortly before 3pm, Paul Drayton was driving a 4x4 vehicle, swerving from side to side. Concerned members of the public called the police. Officers tracked him down, signalled him to pull over, and he complied but then reversed into the police vehicle. He was boxed in by other police cars. A breath test showed 153 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, four times the legal limit.
Originally sentenced to 14 weeks imprisonment on Wednesday, which was suspended on appeal. Pleaded guilty. Judge commented on his exemplary life, mental health struggles, recent brain surgery, and split from partner. Barrister noted previous good character and problems with alcohol. Liam McKane, 54, of Uxbridge, London, punched Colin Leslie, 51, from Cheltenham, in the head following a drunken disagreement outside The Kingsbridge Inn in Bourton-on-the-Water on August 28, 2021. Mr Leslie fell backwards, hit his head on the floor, was treated by paramedics at the scene, and taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he died eight days later on September 5, 2021.
Pleaded guilty to manslaughter on June 26. Judge Picton remarked that the defendant's actions were unjustified and had devastating consequences for the victim's family and the defendant's own family.

James Parsons, of no fixed address, committed a series of violent crimes against retailers in Bristol starting in early June 2021. On 3 June, he entered a Spar shop in Easton, attempted to leave without paying, threatened two store workers (a woman in her 80s and her son) with a broken wine bottle, causing a small cut to the woman's hand, and damaged the glass door by throwing a sign at it. Between 12-13 June, he attempted to steal from Better Food in Fishponds, threatening a shop worker and manager with a broken bottle when challenged. Later that day, he attempted to steal tip money from Napolita Restaurant, where staff recognised him from a previous incident in February and were threatened with a broken bottle. On 12 and 13 June, he stole alcohol from 10 Plus One Shop in Fishponds on both occasions, threatening to stab staff before fleeing. He was arrested six days later in Broadmead.
Pleaded guilty to two counts each of robbery, attempted robbery and theft from a shop. Also admitted to causing criminal damage.

Wayne Braund, owner of the former Strachan and Henshaw building in Foundry Lane, Bristol, failed to comply with fire safety regulations, leading to two fires damaging the property. The first fire occurred on 31st December 2018 in the tower block known as The Office, where people were living, and fortunately no one was harmed. A second fire six months later caused significant structural damage. The building had housed over 40 small and independent businesses, and the adjacent tower was notorious for a swingers' club, cannabis factory, and as a Hells Angels' haunt.
Admitted six fire safety breaches including failing to risk assess for possible asbestos violations and not ensuring fire extinguishers were in place. Life and family threatened by criminals, leading to arrests and investigation. Victim of attempted blackmail in February 2020.

On Monday 24 March, officers from the Keynsham Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an address in Staple Grove, Keynsham. Upon searching the address, officers located two carrier bags containing several packages of cocaine. Working with the Serious and Organised Crime Investigation Team, further drugs were found in a safe in the bedroom and, following analysis, were established to be 8.7kg of cocaine, with an estimated street value of more than £700,000. Following enquiries to identify and then locate Warren Chiddy, a wanted appeal was issued on social media on Monday 31 March. The following day, Chiddy was arrested and he was charged on Wednesday 2 April.

On 11 July 2019, Alhaji Sesay entered the female toilet of a nightclub in Bristol City Centre, approached an unknown woman, pushed her against the wall, sexually assaulted her through her clothing, and attempted to force her to commit a sex act on him. He was detained by security and arrested. On 30 August 2020, at a bar on Chase Road, N14, north London, he pushed an unknown woman into a toilet cubicle, attempted to rape her, and when unsuccessful, forced her to perform a sex act on him. He left but returned and was arrested at the scene.
Found guilty by majority verdict after a four-week trial. Pleaded not guilty. Sentences for London offences to run concurrently. Found not guilty of one count of rape in a separate Bristol incident.
