She made indecent images and videos of the abuse and distributed them online to a network of paedophiles. Police investigations into online child abuse networks led to her arrest. George pleaded guilty to the offences, and the case exposed the scale of graphic child sex abuse images circulated over the internet.

Younes Benmohammed, 45, attacked his friend Wasim Aziz, 36, after an evening of drinking and playing poker. The assault began when Benmohammed accused Aziz of sharing a photo of his ex-girlfriend with a black eye. He punched Aziz repeatedly, struck him with a spirit level, and stabbed him with a kitchen knife to the hand, torso, belly, and side. Aziz was made to lift his top so Benmohammed could cut him further, and was told he would not be released unless he paid thousands of pounds. The victim, who had urinated in his trousers out of fear, was eventually driven home by Benmohammed and his partner, where a housemate called an ambulance. The victim suffered serious injuries and the attack lasted several hours. Benmohammed was convicted by a jury at Hove Crown Court in September 2023 and sentenced later that year.

Stephen McGoldrick, a 50-year-old former police constable with Gloucestershire Constabulary, pleaded guilty to five counts of making indecent images of children. The offences came to light in April 2019 during an unrelated investigation when indecent images were found on his mobile phone. Search warrants executed in June 2019 led to the seizure of several electronic devices from his home. Nearly 9,000 indecent images were recovered in total. McGoldrick resigned from the force in July 2019 prior to being charged.
Pleaded guilty at Bristol Magistrates' Court. Judge Peter Blair said McGoldrick had 'fallen from grace' but showed 'considerable remorse' and had good rehabilitation prospects. Required to register as a sex offender for five years.

On 3 May 2019, Thomas Griffiths, a 17-year-old sixth form student, stabbed his ex-girlfriend Eleanor Gould to death at her home in Calne, Wiltshire. Gould had ended their three-month relationship. After an argument, Griffiths attempted to strangle her, then stabbed her 13 times in the neck with a knife taken from the family kitchen. He spent an hour cleaning the crime scene, using clothes to wipe away evidence and washing his trainers. He placed the knife in Gould's hand to make her injuries appear self-inflicted and used her phone to text a friend, cancelling a lift. Griffiths later admitted murder at Bristol Crown Court.
Pleaded guilty to murder. The judge described his actions as a 'frenzied knife attack' and 'the most appalling act' on a 'vulnerable young woman in her own home'. Griffiths was 17 at the time of the murder and could not receive a whole life order due to his age.

He had previously admitted to sexual activity with two other girls under 16. After Delbono stabbed 16-year-old Charley Bates in The Street on Sunday, July 31, 2022, they fled the scene in the same two vehicles. They stopped at various points where they learned Charley had died before heading to Shearwater Lake, near Warminster. Delbono admitted during his trial that he threw the knife he used to murder Charley into the lake.
Pleaded guilty to assisting an offender. Judge William Hart remarked he had chosen to help Delbono after he fatally wounded Charley Bates, rather than the critically injured teenager. Recognised the dignity Charley’s family had shown throughout the legal proceedings.

Three days later, he sexually assaulted a second woman by penetration after she passed out or fell asleep outside a nightclub, groping her. Both victims provided impact statements detailing anxiety and trauma.

Holder denied the allegation and claimed the encounter was consensual, but the jury convicted him on 1 May.

He was arrested in June 2020 for an unrelated matter, and the videos were found on his phone. He had an indefinite SHPO from October 2013.

James Sunderland, 56, was a member of the Pattern Gang, a County Lines drug dealing gang that sold drugs in Sussex. He threatened to throw acid in the face of one of the gang's runners' mother to enforce a drug debt. Between May and October 2023, Sunderland attended the woman's home address between 20 and 40 times, hanging around outside and repeatedly phoning the family member. The victim felt so threatened she installed CCTV and kept fire extinguishers by the door, fearing her house would be burned down. Sunderland demanded cash on several occasions and forced her to take out loans and borrow money from family. He also threatened the woman's family member, telling him to get into the boot of his car. Sunderland was found guilty of blackmail and sentenced to six years in prison.

The 27-year-old made admissions upon arrest and pleaded guilty to multiple drug and firearms offences.

Further police investigation uncovered thousands of indecent images downloaded onto his computer since January 2023. He was charged with four counts of outraging public decency, six counts of making indecent photos/pseudo-photos of a child, two counts of possessing prohibited images of children, two counts of possessing extreme pornography, and three counts of breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

Years later, the now-adult victim emailed his mother describing the abuse, prompting police involvement and Farrow's arrest.

Jurate Grigelyte trafficked nine men and two women from Lithuania to the UK, promising them work. They were forced to collect and sort charity bags for Dreams Come True, a terminally ill children's charity. She housed them in cramped, poor-condition accommodation, charged them £50 per week rent, and fined them £50 if unable to work. They spoke little or no English and had no money for food, living off potatoes and relying on a free food kitchen. Police arrested Grigelyte in November 2013 after a school raised concerns about a victim’s six-year-old son.
Admitted 10 charges of facilitating entry into the UK with a view to exploiting labour, 10 charges of trafficking around the UK, and one count of forced labour. Workers paid as little as £25 per day and fined £50 for not working. Locked in rented properties in poor conditions, allowed out only through a window; subsisted on potatoes and free food kitchens.

Mark Grinnall and Katrina Henson arrived at a residential building on Jamaica Street, Bristol, around 7:40 a.m. on September 27. They gained access to the communal area and attacked a man in his 40s as he left his flat. The victim was punched and stabbed in the chest, requiring multiple hospital treatments over several weeks. The pair fled but were identified via CCTV and arrested on October 2 on suspicion of attempted murder. Grinnall was found hiding in a garden shed. They pleaded guilty to assault causing grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article. The victim stated the attack continues to affect him physically, emotionally, psychologically, and financially.

On 13 August 2023, Kaydon Prior and Jason Curtis murdered Harrison Tomkins in Crawley. Prior learned his ex-girlfriend was with Tomkins while out celebrating Curtis's birthday. After returning from London, Prior went to his home to retrieve a knife and a key to his ex-girlfriend's flat, while Curtis stayed as lookout. They burst into the flat at around 5:30am and Prior fatally stabbed Tomkins multiple times. Curtis was found hiding nearby and arrested. Both were convicted after a four-week trial.
Found guilty of murder, possession of an offensive weapon, and common assault after a four-week trial.

Ephgrave, of Melksham, travelled with Joshua Delbono in a Seat car to a car park in the centre of Radstock. After Delbono stabbed 16-year-old Charley Bates in The Street on Sunday, July 31, 2022, they fled the scene. They stopped at various points where they learned Charley had died before heading to Shearwater Lake, near Warminster. While at the lake, Ephgrave took photos of clothes being burned in an attempt to dispose of evidence.
Pleaded guilty to assisting an offender. Judge William Hart remarked she had chosen to help Delbono after he fatally wounded Charley Bates, rather than the critically injured teenager. Recognised the dignity Charley’s family had shown throughout the legal proceedings.
Lewis Glasby
Causing death by dangerous driving *

Lewis Glasby, driving a Ford Fiesta, and Alfie Cook, driving a BMW, were racing each other at high speed on the A36 Warminster Road at Claverton, near Bradford on Avon, on April 15, 2023, causing a four-car crash that killed 26-year-old Ella Cook and seriously injured others.
Pleaded guilty on February 18. Additional concurrent sentences of 2 years each for two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Deprived of Ford Fiesta and disqualified from driving for 11 years (reducible with extended retest).

Louis Seyfi, 25, of Worthing, used profits from cocaine dealing to fund a lavish lifestyle, including a BMW with a personalised number plate, designer clothes, and high-spec mountain bikes. On 26 October 2021, Sussex Police executed a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at his home, seizing cash, cocaine, and two mobile phones containing evidence of drug supply. He was identified by the Serious Organised Crime Unit as linked to a key defendant in Operation Smith. Seyfi denied the offences but a jury at Brighton Crown Court found him guilty after a three-day trial ending on 15 April 2024.
Jury unanimously convicted him of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession with intent to supply cocaine. He continued offending after a previous conviction in 2019. The sentence consists of 3 years for the new offence and 2 years for the 2019 offences, to run consecutively.
Lucy D’Cruze
Attempting to smuggle prohibited drugs into prison *

Lucy D’Cruze, at the direction of her boyfriend Michael Beirne (an inmate at Lewes Prison), placed cocaine and ketamine in the men's toilets at the Sussex Eye Hospital on two occasions, intending that a prisoner would collect them and smuggle them into the prison. The drugs were discovered by a prison officer before they could be brought into the prison.
Pleaded guilty. Ordered to complete rehabilitation activity.

Luis Da Silva, 41, of Gillingham, Dorset, pleaded guilty to five child sex offences, including one count of rape, against a young victim. The offences involved grooming and manipulation tactics when the victim was a child. The victim confided in her family in October 2023, leading to a police investigation by Avon and Somerset Police. Da Silva used lies and fear to keep her silent for years. He was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court to nine years and five months imprisonment, with an extended licence of one year and an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Pleaded guilty to five child sex offences, including rape. Groomed and manipulated a young victim. Extended licence of one year and indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed.
