On 8th May 2026, a collision in Innox Lane at Upper Swainswick was reported to police. Officers found Kylie Coopey's Nissan Qashqai with significant front-end damage blocking the lane. She refused a roadside breath test, but at the police station gave an evidential breath test of 63 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, over the legal limit of 35. She had been celebrating a friend's flat-warming party and made the foolish decision to drive after drinking. She struck a deer which ran in front of her, causing the damage.
Pleaded guilty. Previously had a clean driving licence. Disqualification reduced by 25% if she completes a drink-drive rehabilitation course. Ordered to pay £85 costs and £48 surcharge.

Admitted flouting the criminal behaviour order three times. No suggestion of committing any other criminal offences in the area. On one occasion, walking a friend's dog. Resident of Dartmouth Avenue in Bath.

Osric Leigh drove dangerously on Pines Way in Bath, going the wrong way around a gyratory in the early hours of 19th October 2025, and failed to stop when signalled by police with blue lights. He was driving a friend's vehicle without insurance, which had expired. Police did not pursue for long. No other cars on the road.
Pleaded guilty in March to driving dangerously, failing to stop for police, and driving with no insurance. Neurodivergent, acted on impulse, remorseful. No prosecution costs due to lack of means. No separate penalty for no insurance.

Zephan Thompson, 26, of Rowan Close, Weston-super-Mare, was riding a Yamaha MT on Chapel Lane, Chew Stoke, when he was stopped by a traffic officer after they observed him travelling at around 110mph before performing an overtake at high speed on Monday 30 March.
Pleaded guilty to one charge of exceeding a 50mph speed limit. Must also pay a victim surcharge of £180 and court costs totalling £130.

On 24th June 2025 at 9.20pm, Wayne Craddock crashed his car into a pole in Frome Road, Radstock. He was found slumped in his seat with slurred speech and unsteady on his feet. A search found 0.2 grams of ketamine, and a urine sample showed 14 different drugs in his system. He had admitted driving while unfit through drugs, possessing ketamine and driving without a licence.
Admitted offences in January; previous driving offences; complex needs noted by Probation Service; curfew is 6pm-6am with electronic tagging.

Mark Phillips, who lives on a boat at Bath Marina and Caravan Park at Newbridge, strangled marina worker Robin Vance on 13th May 2025 after complaining about a wobbly mooring. He squeezed Vance's neck very hard for 20-30 seconds, causing Vance to fear for his life. On 15th May 2025 he threatened Vance again and assaulted PC Stephen Merryweather by striking him in the face. Phillips has epilepsy and claimed frustration over the unresolved mooring issue led to the incident.
Pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation, harassment and assaulting a police officer. Magistrates stated only a custodial sentence could be justified.

Christopher Monro, 30, murdered his 73-year-old father Peter Monro at his home in Kelston View, Bath, on February 11, 2025. Emergency services were called around 12pm, where Peter was confirmed dead. Christopher was arrested the following day at his home in Osney Lane, Oxford, by Thames Valley Police.
Pleaded guilty to murder in August. Sister Lara highlighted his mental health issues but emphasized the sentencing should reflect his actions.

He had failed to notice that it was stationary and indicating right to turn into Old Bristol Road. Both cars suffered significant damage. The driver of the Discovery, a woman in her 60s, was initially trapped in her vehicle. She was later taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries. Loughlin suffered no injuries.
