Abdul Mahmood
Breaching restraining order *
Sentence
Immediate prison term
Abdul Mahmood breached a restraining order by incessantly calling the woman at all hours between late January and March 2025, pressuring her to meet under the guise of apologising during Ramadan. He then drove her approximately 70 miles from Bradford to the Trafford Centre and later to Cheshire Oaks retail park, where he confined her in the car, grabbed her arm to prevent her from leaving, and only released her when her bracelet broke, allowing her to escape and contact the police. The woman suffered serious harm, including sleepless nights, weight loss, and consideration of moving house.
Pleaded guilty to two charges of breaching the restraining order. Judge Colin Burn noted that the offending was too serious for anything other than an immediate prison term and imposed another indefinite restraining order. Defence mentioned immaturity and emotional regulation difficulties.

He was uninsured, drove while disqualified, and swore at her before fleeing. The incident involved dangerous driving and criminal damage.
Was already subject to a two-year restraining order and an eight-week suspended sentence for driving while banned. Judge highlighted his lack of maturity, possible mental health issues, and that he was lying in wait for the victim.

Parmjit Singh, after his release from prison in December, targeted his former partner with a series of abusive calls and voicemails, including using a voice changing device to taunt her and threaten to 'bury her'. He breached a restraining order by contacting her, calling her a 'clown', and appearing outside her mother's home and a school, where he confronted her and shouted through her car window. The abuse lasted several weeks, leading to his arrest after police forced entry into a Bradford address.
Pleaded guilty to stalking and breaching a restraining order. A six-month suspended sentence from October was activated. Struggled with alcohol and the breakdown of his relationship. Judge described his behaviour as corrosive and terrifying for the victim.

She sustained a fractured eye socket, bruising to her eyes and knees, a bloody nose, and internal bleeding to parts of her brain. The victim reported significant physical and emotional impacts, including difficulty trusting others and ongoing mental health issues.
Found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a trial and admitted to two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
