Jamie Ashton, 21, from Ashville Grove, Pelion, was involved in a high-speed police chase in Halifax in May. The pursuit lasted about 15 minutes, during which he drove down a dirt track and eventually into a dead end before attempting to flee on foot. He was apprehended and detained.
Pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance. Had four previous convictions for dangerous driving and repeated offences of driving while disqualified. The judge noted that he caused damage to a police vehicle and deliberately ignored the rules of the road.
