Dylan Phelan, 21, of Leeds, was a member of a private Discord server called 'Recovery4all' which was supposedly for mental health support. In October 2024, Travis Dyer, 21, from Louisiana, who had joined the group seeking help after the drowning deaths of his mother and sister, was instead taunted and groomed by Phelan and two other men. They convinced Dyer to carve their initials into his skin and spend his money on drugs and alcohol. During a video call that month, Phelan goaded Dyer to kill himself, telling him to 'pull the trigger' while laughing. Dyer died by suicide during that call. Phelan's parents brought him to a police station after a woman informed them of his involvement.
Pleaded guilty to intentionally encouraging the suicide of Travis Dyer, three counts of possession of extreme pornographic images, and one count of making an indecent image of a child. Judge Barry Cotter said Phelan indulged his 'morbid curiosity' and showed no respect for the victim's life. Also made subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.

Indecent images of other children were also found on his phone.

Alfie Milburn, aged 19, was found guilty of the manslaughter of 19-year-old Harry Abbott in Leeds. Harry Abbott was part of a group who visited Milburn’s home on Parkside View in the Seacroft area in October 2025 with the intention of attacking him in retaliation for previous assaults. Milburn left his house and got into a taxi, then ran from it while being chased. Out of sight of CCTV, Milburn stabbed Harry in the back. The group returned to their car with Harry stumbling and collapsing, then dumped his body on St Wilfred’s Crescent in Harehills. Police later found a machete and a sword at Milburn’s property. Milburn fled the country, travelling to Dublin and then Northern Ireland, before being arrested at Belfast International Airport.

He drove her to various locations around the city for approximately two hours, during which he subjected her to repeated sexual assaults, including four counts of rape, one count of assault by penetration and one count of sexual assault. The victim provided a detailed description and a phone number Adams had given her, leading to his identification and arrest. Adams denied the offences, claiming he had not noticed the girl was wearing a school uniform, but was found guilty on all counts at Leeds Crown Court.

Jamie Beckett exploited a facilitator's and victims' financial situation by offering cash for medical appointments, electricity and wifi in exchange for images and videos of child abuse involving seven children aged 5-15. Between June 2020 and June 2022, he exchanged 9,493 messages, 356 media files and approximately 39 calls, providing specific instructions and persuading the facilitator to inflict sexual or physical harm. He paid just under £560 in total, with payments ranging from £6.20 to £187 per request. Devices seized from his home contained further indecent images of children.
Pleaded guilty to 25 charges. Will be on the sex offenders' register for life and subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Judge Batiste described his offending as 'vile, repulsive, revolting and truly appalling beyond words' and commended NCA officers.

The victim worked at one of Sahota's takeaway businesses, where she was isolated and vulnerable after prior exploitation. Sahota, who was 20 years older, paid her more than other employees and abused her at commercial and residential premises connected to him, as well as in motor vehicles. The abuse included multiple serious sexual assaults, rape, and sexual assaults by penetration.

He made multiple 999 calls that day, including threats to set the flat alight at 4.06pm and admissions during the act. This was not his first incident; he had set fire to his flat in June 2025, leading to evacuations, and in September 2025, a neighbour smelled burning plastic. Officers found him outside drinking and shouting upon arrival. He was arrested for arson, claiming he was targeted by rival drug dealers due to debts, and his flat had been assaulted previously. During interview, he provided an alibi but couldn't recall his threats.

Lisa Ellwood murdered her husband, Ryan Ellwood, at their home on Greenwood Court, Wakefield, on 29 August 2023, following an argument after her birthday evening of drinking cocktails. She restrained him against kitchen cabinets, retrieved a knife, and stabbed him once in the chest, causing fatal injuries to his lung and aorta. Emergency responders could not save him. The couple had a troubled relationship with past violent incidents. Ellwood claimed memory loss due to alcohol, and evidence showed excessive drinking prior to the incident. She made a remark suggesting her husband was too unwell to defend himself.

Previously received a suspended sentence on March 9 for making and distributing indecent images of children. Judge noted deliberate offending shortly after previous sentencing and activated the suspended sentence.

Andrew Reed, 32, of Beeston Park Terrace, stabbed a stranger in an unprovoked attack on Town Street in Beeston in October 2024. The victim was walking to the gym when Reed approached, shouted racial slurs including 'Is it time for war' and 'I'm a white man this is my world', and chased him with a small knife after the victim tried to push him away. Reed struck several blows, causing stab wounds to the victim's back, chest area, and left forearm; part of the blade embedded in the chest. Reed fled after a passerby intervened. The victim sought treatment at Leeds General Infirmary for wounds including a 2cm cut to his upper back. Reed was arrested on October 31, 2024, with similar knives and cocaine seized. He claimed self-defence in interview but admitted possession of the knife.

Antonio Napolitano, aged 39, of Turnsteads Drive, Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, was convicted at Leeds Crown Court on 6 February 2026 following a trial for serious sexual offences against three young girls over a 10-year period. The charges involved three counts of assault of a girl under 13 by penetration and five counts of assault of a girl under 13 by touching. The victims were all under 13 at the time. An initial investigation began in 2017 after one victim disclosed the abuse but charges could not be brought. In January 2025 two more victims came forward, leading to his arrest and charging. He was remanded in custody and later sentenced to an 18-year extended sentence.

Abdi Wahab Abdulla, 31, of Harehills Avenue, pounced on a 19-year-old man as he slept in Queens Arcade, Leeds city centre, in the early hours of January 14, 2023, after the victim had been out drinking and was heavily intoxicated. CCTV footage showed Abdulla entering the arcade, searching the sleeping man, and taking items including his phone, keys, and credit card. As the man woke, Abdulla helped him to his feet and followed him over some distance. He then threatened the man with a knife and raped him near the Merrion Centre, before attempting to rape him in Woodhouse Moor Park. Abdulla was identified via CCTV, arrested on February 12, 2023, and later admitted the attack to police.

On August 10, 2025, he preyed on a woman separated from her friends during a night out, speaking with her on CCTV before taking her behind the Travelodge hotel in Blayds Yard where he sexually assaulted her; a hotel staff member intervened after hearing her cries. He was identified via media appeal, arrested four days later, and DNA matched to a 2021 rape in Beeston where he had picked up another separated, intoxicated woman in his car, mistaking it for a taxi, and took her to isolated car parks to rape her. She sent a video message saying 'Help me.'

He kicked her bags, pushed her into drawers, slapped and punched her, strangled her with both hands lifting her off the floor until she could hardly open her eyes, threw her to the floor, and threatened her with a lamp. When his mother intervened, he called her a 'rat'. He took her phone and later left the house with a Samurai sword, brandishing it in the street and entering another address before hiding in a bush where police found him. The sword was not recovered. He claimed to be drunk and angry during interview.

Much of the abuse took place at the pair’s home, in Gibson’s car, at venues where he performed, and other locations. One victim explained how Gibson targeted her at a 14th birthday party where he was performing, before taking them to a local nightclub and then back to his home where he sexually abused her. Gibson often plied his young victims with alcohol and, on occasion, drugs, before carrying out his abuse. He even took some of his victims to obtain contraception so he could abuse them without protection. The offences reflect abuse against 12 further victims who were aged between nine and 15 at the time.
Pleaded guilty to 43 counts of child sexual abuse, including 23 x indecent assault, 8 x rape, 1 x attempting to engage in sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 13, 3 x sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 years, 4 x indecency with a child, 2 x sexual assault of a child under 13, 2 x sexual activity with a child. After drinking, Clay persuaded the boy to his flat on the Armouries, locked him in, and repeatedly raped and assaulted him over two days, including strangling, hitting with an oven tray, and forcing compliance by referencing prior abuse. The boy escaped and later reported the incidents. Clay's phone revealed indecent images of children and the victim. While under investigation, Clay fled to the Dominican Republic but was arrested upon return. On bail, he targeted an 18-year-old boy, luring him to the Bridge pub in Leeds where he sexually assaulted him in the toilets despite protests. Clay denied offences but was convicted after trial.

Jamie Bouncer, 22, of Hall Street, Pontefract, borrowed his friend's VW Golf without a full driving licence after attending a house party in Castleford following a nightclub visit. On 12 January 2025, in the early hours of the morning under freezing and wet conditions, he lost control on Wheldon Road, driving in excess of the 30mph speed limit, crashed through a fence, and the car landed in a disused water treatment tank in the Yorkshire Water compound. Taylor Lupton, 18, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, while the 21-year-old owner of the car was seriously injured.
Pleaded guilty to causing death by drink driving, driving uninsured, and driving without a full licence. Banned from driving for 10 years and must take an extended retest.

He then followed one woman to her car, kicked the doors, and counted down from 10 claiming a bomb would go off, causing her terror. Police arrested him after recognizing him on CCTV.

During the drive to Mirfield, Hare, whose trousers were already open, raped her twice; she complied out of fear. He then dropped her at Cooper Bridge petrol station, claiming he needed to return to his wife and children. The victim flagged down a taxi, whose driver assisted and called police. Hare was arrested within 24 hours and claimed consensual sex, but was convicted after an October 2025 trial. The incident caused severe anxiety, relationship issues, and work difficulties for the victim.
Found guilty after trial of two counts of rape. Previous convictions for theft and motoring offences, but none sexual.
