She woke up naked in a room at the Winston Hotel in Southampton that morning, with the two men unknown to her, still in and out of consciousness. The men helped her dress and drove her home after she contacted her mother for her postcode. She disclosed the events to her parents, fearing sexual assault, and reported it to police the next day. Investigation revealed the men had taken footage of the assault without her knowledge.
Found guilty of one count of attempted rape and one count of sexual assault. Stood trial for further charges including rape and voyeurism but found not guilty.

Liam McCarthy, of Copperfield Road, Southampton, sent threatening emails to Caroline Nokes, MP for Romsey and Southampton North, between May 15, 2022, and March 4, 2023, after cancelling a scheduled meeting and accusing her of being 'evil' and a 'liar'. The emails escalated to threats of violence against members of the Department for Work and Pensions. He also left threatening voicemails to Steve Smith, former head of stronger communities at Southampton City Council, between November 14 and 21, 2022, including threats to use a machete and strangle him. McCarthy was arrested in December 2022, breached bail by contacting Nokes in January and March 2023, and his actions caused Nokes to fear for her safety and constantly monitor her surroundings.
Pleaded guilty to harassment charges. Mitigating factors included emotional distress over housing situation. Judge Anthony Callaway commented that people deserve to work without threats of violence and noted the breach of bail conditions.

Corbin was arrested shortly after and charged on 10 August with attempted robbery.

He swindled £37,000 from victims, tricking one into paying a £4,237 bill at Claridge's hotel in London, defrauding another of £7,500, and taking £500 deposit from Carol-Anne Board for a non-existent property rental in Sandbanks, Dorset, leaving her homeless. He also took £1,000 from her friend. Coombs admitted the offences and was sentenced in 2017, but absconded to Russia in 2018, leading to an extended sentence upon return.
Pleaded guilty to nine counts of fraud. Described as a 'predator' by Judge Peter Ralls QC. Sentence extended in 2020 after fleeing the country. Released at end of sentence in February 2023.

Howse was arrested in late December 2019 and charged with the rape in July 2020.

Police discovered an unregistered laptop in David Pamment's living room in Charlie Soar Court, Eastleigh, during an unannounced visit on October 4. This breached his sexual harm prevention order, which required him to register internet-enabled computers within three days of purchase. The order stemmed from his earlier conviction for possessing 31 indecent images of children (17 category A, 12 category B, 2 category C), for which he was jailed for eight months in March 2019 after pleading guilty to three counts of making indecent images of a child.

He repeatedly sexually assaulted a younger girl by groping her breasts and bottom, forcing her hand down his trousers, escalating to more forceful and aggressive behaviour. Incidents occurred frequently, sometimes with adults present. He threatened to rape the girl if she reported him. Victims, now adults, suffered severe long-term anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, and required therapy.
Pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a child, sexual activity with a child, causing or inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity, inciting a boy to engage in sexual activity, and rape of a child. Offences committed when aged 12-15. Prior suspended sentence for possessing indecent images of children. Phones showed sales of cannabis and cocaine. Bank accounts showed £12,000 in third-party deposits consistent with dealing.
Pleaded guilty to three counts of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs. Previous convictions for possession with intent to supply class B drugs, burglary and drug driving. Judge noted the seriousness of the offences and dismissed request for suspended sentence.

Darren Jones, 38, of no fixed address, committed three burglaries on Alma Road and Southcliff Road after consuming a large amount of prescribed drugs. He stole cash, a PlayStation, a laptop, and other valuables. Police matched his blood from two scenes and linked trainer prints to footwear found in his tent at Six Dials. He was arrested after his DNA was identified and later pleaded guilty to all three offences.
Pleaded guilty to three burglaries on July 25. Broke in after taking prescribed drugs. Identified via blood at scenes and matching trainer prints found in a tent where he was living rough.

In October 2022, police seized multiple devices from Darren Halliwell’s home in Blackwater Drive, Totton, including a mobile phone. Examination revealed six category A (most severe), 22 category B and 28 category C indecent images of children aged three to 12. He denied possession but admitted sexual attraction to children. Previously sentenced in July 2011 at the same court for possessing 5,000 indecent images, receiving a three-year community order.
Pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images. Must sign sex offenders register for 10 years, subject to sexual harm prevention order, 30 rehabilitation activity sessions and pay £150 costs. Judge: 'You didn’t learn your lesson from 2011 and here we are again. Daniel Norton, of Cheadle, Stockport, threatened a teenage girl from Hampshire that his father was a police officer and he would take her away from her family if she did not send pictures and videos of herself and her brother engaging in sexual activity. He also threatened to distribute the images online if she did not send more. When the victim refused, the images were posted on the internet and went viral, prompting a warning from Hampshire Constabulary. Offences occurred between October 1 and December 1, 2017.

Also pleaded guilty to making dozens of indecent moving images of children across all three categories of severity and possessing extreme pornographic images depicting children involved in sexual activity with animals.

Daniel Paul Cordory had 7,148 pornographic images of youngsters, including cartoon and animated-style images of children, stored on his desktop computer at his home in Twyford Road, Eastleigh. Police raided his home and found the images. During interview, he claimed pop-up images appeared while surfing adult sites and that he took steps to stop them. He also played a computer game showing children being abused where he controlled child-like characters. Arrested in July 2020.

Daniel Randall-Coles

Daniel Randall-Coles committed a series of sexual assaults between January 26 and 31 in Southampton's Lordshill and city centre areas. He rode a black bicycle wearing fluorescent clothing, cycling alongside victims and indecently touching them over their clothes, grabbing buttocks and groin areas. One victim was a 12-year-old schoolgirl on her way to school. CCTV footage captured him targeting the child. Following a public appeal with his image, Randall-Coles handed himself in at Southampton Central Police Station on January 31.
Admitted to 15 counts of sexual assault and two counts of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching. Police described him as brazen and arrogant, targeting victims aged 11 to 57 across Southampton.
Daniel Rogan

Elidjon Dedaj and Kujtim Qungeli were near a white van facing the wrong way in a one-way system in Alfred Street on 19 March. They tried to run away when officers approached but were detained nearby. A search of a nearby property revealed a large quantity of cannabis being grown under high powered lights, evidence of a substantial fire near the fuse box, and dozens of bin bags filled with cannabis believed to have a street value of £352,000.
Pleaded guilty to producing a controlled drug of Class B – Cannabis. Judge ordered seized drugs to be destroyed.
Eliot Easterby

Eliot Easterby, then 44, had almost 700 indecent images of boys discovered on his computer, hard drive, three memory sticks and ten DVDs during a police search of his home in Sholing or Hamble on 22 January 2014, following a tip-off from Canadian police. Almost 300 images had been viewed and deleted on the computer, 374 downloaded and stored. Images were of the least serious category. DVDs included Water Wiggles and More Water Wiggles showing boys in paddling pools. A hoard of boys' underwear from Hamble Sea Scouts trips was found under his bed. He taught maths at Sholing Technology College, was a Hamble parish councillor and leader of Hamble Sea Scouts.
Pleaded not guilty but convicted by jury on 13 counts of possessing and making indecent images. Judge Peter Henry noted the jury rightly convicted him on charges involving boys aged 8 to 15.

Ellie May Trewin (19) of Blackfield Road, Fawley, a provisional driver, had been drinking at The Anchor Inn in Totton before driving her Ford Ka home on 16th August 2024. She lost control on a bend on Normandy Way, Marchwood, mounting a grass verge, ploughing into a tree and rolling the car. Her passenger, boyfriend Dominic Davis-Smith (30), from Holbury, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle and suffered catastrophic internal injuries, dying at the scene. Trewin was almost twice the alcohol limit (roadside breathalyser 69, limit 35; blood test 96, limit 80). Crash caused by inexperience, impairment, likely distraction and excess speed.
Pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving. Judge took into account her difficult background and mental health issues. Banned from driving for six years and must take an extended re-test. Sentence to be served in a young offender’s institute.
Eugene Tyrrell

Eugene Tyrrell, then 36, met his 13-year-old victim after a birthday party and began talking to her online between December 2011 and 2012. Conversations started about school before he admitted feelings for her and incited sexual activity, knowing her age. He claimed he only asked for sex to see her reaction and had no intent to meet. He also contacted a younger relative of the victim, though no charges for this. The victim self-harmed, became depressed and required medication. Tyrrell fled to South Africa after arrest, evading justice for five years before being returned.

On 18 September 2015, outside the Turtle Bay restaurant in Southampton, Geoffrey Midmore and Billy Midmore sprayed drain cleaner into the face of Carla Whitlock during a drugs deal gone wrong. The attack caused severe burns and left the 37-year-old victim blinded in one eye. The pair were convicted of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The original order followed her conviction for 11 charges including causing a child to engage in sexual activity as part of an international paedophile ring linked to Hampshire, which committed crimes against young children in the UK and Australia.

The victim, a vulnerable 55-year-old woman, suffered severe impacts including depression, three suicide attempts, alcohol issues and fear of living in her home.

Jeremy Blake Simmons

Jeremy Blake Simmons attacked a 19-year-old woman at about 2.15am on August 4, 2020 as she walked along Leigh Road in Eastleigh. He told her he had a gun, punched and kicked her to stop her screaming, then dragged her into a nearby recreation ground. He intended to rob her but was also found guilty of kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence. The victim called 999 and the attack was heard by police; CCTV operator alerted officers who rescued her. She suffered anxiety, depression and nightmares. Separately, he committed robbery by stealing a handbag in East Park, Southampton, and four counts of fraud.
Pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm, threats to kill, kidnap, robbery and four counts of fraud. Found guilty after trial of kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence. Judge Christopher Park QC branded him a danger to the public and gave him an extended sentence. Defence cited life spiralling out of control after mother's death in 2019 and childhood abuse.

He met the boy at a music gig when he was 14, befriended the boy's father, and abused him between July 9 and July 24, 2019, over several weekends while delivering parcels. Peach repeatedly kissed the vulnerable boy, claimed to love him, talked about setting up home together, sent naked photos, and gave him his wedding ring after his marriage breakdown. A suicide-pact was discussed. Police intervened when the boy was about to meet him with razor blades in his bag. His wife found indecent images on his phone.
Pleaded guilty to six charges including rape and making indecent images of a child. No previous convictions. Remorse expressed. Subject to a sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender for life.

Jason Scorey had removed the bottom of the pipe but failed to check the rusted nails securing it to the wall or ensure its stability, despite the site being near a school gate during pick-up time.

On 30 June 2024, just before 8pm, Hayden Bryant (21), of Jubilee Close in Fordingbridge, was parked in a narrow lane on Bickerley Road, Ringwood, in a BMW with a passenger, inhaling nitrous oxide (laughing gas) via balloons. Two pedestrians, unknown to him, walked past after leaving The Railway pub. Bryant beeped at them, then revved the engine, swerved the car towards them. One victim jumped to a grass verge but was struck, sustaining a 10cm deep laceration to his knee exposing the kneecap, tyre marks on his foot, requiring surgery to repair tendons, resulting in permanent scar, time off work, constant pain, anxiety, and sleep issues. The car also swerved towards the brother but missed. Bryant fled the scene at speed. He was seen with a balloon in his mouth before impact.
Pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Previous driving offences include a suspended sentence with 110 hours unpaid work from Swindon Magistrates’ Court and six penalty points for failing to stop after a road accident. Judge Nigel Peters KC noted the defendant's use of nitrous oxide affected his driving ability and highlighted the victim's suffering.

Hoshmand Ahmadpoor subjected his ex-girlfriend to coercive control and violence. In June, during an argument, he put his hands around her throat. In September, he escalated the abuse by holding a knife to her throat and smashing a door at his home. He also threatened violence to pressure her into dropping a police complaint. He pleaded guilty to all charges.

Jack McRae committed offences against two women in their 20s in Southampton in October-November 2020. One assault on 25 November 2020 in Itchen involved punching a woman multiple times in the face, head and body, continuing after she was unconscious. The other seven offences in Mansbridge included four assaults by punching, kicking, biting and stabbing with a knife; two instances of criminal damage by stabbing a sofa, cushion and phone with a knife; rape in November; and false imprisonment by locking her in her flat for a week. During one assault he said 'If I could get away with killing you, I would'. Both women reported to police on 28 November 2020.

The first incident occurred at around 8am on 1 December last year in Shirley. Stott cycled past the victim, a 24-year-old woman, and then cycled back to sexually assault her over her clothing. The second incident took place on 14 December last year at around 8am on Wimpson Lane. The victim, aged 12, was walking with a friend when Stott wrapped his arms around her and pinned her to the ground before sexually assaulting her over her clothing. Her friend was able to help her get free before they left the scene.
Pleaded guilty on 18 March to sexual assault and sexual assault of a child under 13. Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed and restraining orders preventing him from contacting his victims.
Gordon Coe
Conspiracy to defraud and concealing financial transactions *

Gordon Coe, 65, a former pub landlord, registered as a volunteer fundraiser for Marie Curie in 2008 but breached rules by collecting pub-to-pub and enlisting others. He and his gang used fake IDs and collecting tins with home-printed logos to collect approximately £26,000 in donations from pubs and clubs in the south of England over three years. The charity received only £263 from him. He admitted conspiracy to defraud and concealing financial transactions.
Pleaded guilty. Judge Derwin Hope said the true scale of the loss will never be known.
Graham Kenrick
Possessing indecent images of children *

Graham Kenrick, of Brookwood Avenue, Eastleigh, Hampshire, had been searching for indecent images of children for 10 years or more. Police seized his hard drive and computer towers in June 2017, finding 879 Category A still images and 18 films, 692 Category B still images and one video, nearly 30,000 Category C still images and four videos, plus 15 films of bestiality and a film of girls as young as five being raped.
Pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity to possessing indecent images, possessing a prohibited image and possessing an extreme pornographic image. Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years. Lost job and wife. Diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder and depressive disorder. Low risk of further sexual offences.

Alexander Williams, driving home from work at Fawley refinery around 5am, suddenly pulled out into the oncoming lane on the A326 near Hardley roundabout near Fawley, colliding head-on with David Quarrel's van. Williams claimed he followed a car overtaking a slow tanker, but dash cam footage showed no tanker. Quarrel suffered multiple fractures (ribs, spine, pelvis, leg), lacerated liver, and required cutting from the vehicle. He endured long recovery with anxiety, depression, nightmares, flashbacks, loss of confidence in night driving, constant pain, and inability to fish or stand long.
Pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Showed remorse in court, sobbing during hearing. Described as momentary lapse of judgement. Sole earner with young family.
Andrew Paul Tucker
Rape and sexual assault of a child *

Andrew Paul Tucker, from Eastleigh, Hampshire, was convicted of multiple counts of rape and sexual assault against a child. Andrew Portelli lied to police about his real address just days after being sentenced for attempting to meet what he thought was a 14-year-old girl, breaching his sexual harm prevention order requirements on February 8, 2019. He was living and working as a night porter at The Elizabeth House Hotel, The Avenue, Southampton SO17 1XP, but provided a false address fearing he would lose his job and accommodation if employers learned of his prior sentencing.
Sentenced for breaching sexual harm prevention order by lying about his address. Had been in custody for a month prior and was eligible for immediate release. Six-month suspended sentence for previous offence remains in place. Judge Gary Burrell QC described actions as 'astonishingly stupid'. In mitigation, described as 'foolish' due to fear of losing job and accommodation.
