He was convicted of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, breaching a sexual harm prevention order by deleting internet history, having unsupervised contact with an under 16-year-old, and failing to comply with notification requirements.
Pleaded guilty in 2016 to causing a child under 16 to watch a sexual activity and asking her to undress, receiving a 12 month suspended sentence. He had no previous convictions.

Peter Phillips-Jones had 2,820 indecent images of children on his electronic devices, including a mix of photos and videos ranging from category A (most serious) to category C. The veterinary technician from Hayter Gardens in Romsey used a website called TalkwithStranger to receive, download and share images of children with other users between 2016 and 2020. Police visited his home on May 31, 2020, after suggestions he was uploading indecent images, and he admitted responsibility.

Abused two victims in his bedroom; they were unsure of sexuality and persuaded into acts. Travelled to London for a 15-year-old groomed via chatroom but meeting did not occur. Officers seized computer with over 450 indecent images of boys. Victims felt 'dirty', 'uncomfortable', and 'wary'.
Admitted eight offences: sexual assault, sexual activity with a child, travelling with intent to meet a child following grooming, possessing indecent images. Prior 18 months imprisonment in December 2005. Assessed as posing significant risk of harm to teenage boys. Placed on sex offenders register, subject to sex offender prevention order, banned indefinitely from using internet to contact children under 16 except his own with consent.

He searched the internet for terms including 'topless 12-year-old'. The 53 files ranged from category A to C. Offences spanned August and September 2020. Police seized his Samsung mobile phone during a raid.

Richard Moore, 43, from Newport, was caught in an undercover operation by the 'S.K.I.D Community' after sending explicit messages and naked photos of himself to a decoy posing as a 12-year-old girl named 'India'. He planned to meet the girl at her auntie's house in Southampton on January 6 and was arrested on Portswood Road on that day.
Pleaded guilty. Ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life. 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed.

Richard Townsend, of Copsewood Road, Southampton, Hampshire, and his partner Mark Metcalfe repeatedly sexually abused two boys under the age of 16 between 1998 and 2005. Townsend filmed Metcalfe performing a sex act on one of their victims, believed to be in his mid-teens. Townsend was found guilty of four counts of indecent assault of a child, five multiple incident counts of indecent assault of a child, one count of indecency with a child, one multiple incident count of assault by penetration of a child, one count of rape of a child and two counts of sexual assault of a child. One of their victims took his own life earlier in 2019, with the stress of the investigation cited as a possible factor.
Found guilty of 14 counts relating to child sex offences following a trial. Denied the charges. Works as an accountant.

On 23 February 2021, at around 4.15pm, a man in his 30s was jogging on Vosper Road, Southampton, when a car driven by Rory Marshall and carrying Goodman went past. Goodman shouted racist abuse out the window, including telling the man ‘to go back to his own country’. Marshall followed the man into Victoria Road, stopped the car and he and Goodman assaulted the man, punching and kicking him. The man suffered minor facial injuries and a minor injury to his elbow.

Robert Mackay (41) of Lymington poured diesel from a jerry can over his neighbour’s front door in Shrubbs Avenue on 30 August 2025, following a row the previous evening and an exchange of texts. He attempted to ignite the diesel with a lighter. The diesel leaked under the door causing £3,000 damage to carpets and floorboards. The victim was terrified, fearing he might die in a fire.
Pleaded guilty to criminal damage and threatening to destroy/damage property. Has 64 previous convictions for offences involving drugs, dishonesty, harassment and criminal damage. Was on remand since arrest in September 2025. Judge noted serious distress to victim and that he may soon be released due to time served, with any remaining time on licence.

Robert Oakley, of Lyons Street, Southampton, exposed himself to two women walking their dogs on separate occasions in Frog Lane, Fordingbridge, Hampshire, on 25 and 28 January 2020. He followed his victims before pleasuring himself in front of them, leaving both badly frightened.
Found guilty after three-day trial having denied two charges of indecent exposure. Offences aggravated by prior convictions for exposure. Judge noted defendant's belligerence, the frightening impact on victims, and vulnerability due to isolation.
Robert Wiseman

Police raided Robert Wiseman's home on Raleigh Close, New Milton, on 21 December 2021 following a National Crime Agency investigation. They found firearm components with which he had progressed far towards creating a .22 revolver, plans for making a pistol, ammunition, manuals, and tools relating to weapons. An expert completed the revolver to demonstrate its viability, and a video of it being fired was released. Wiseman told officers everyone should be able to use firearms.
Admitted attempting to manufacture a weapon, possessing a firearm without a certificate, and possessing ammunition without a certificate when prohibited. Early guilty plea. Prior three-year prison sentence in 1997 for possession of a shortened shotgun and lifetime weapons ban. Remorseful. Judge Nigel Peters KC noted major interest in firearms, planning involved, and that this is not the USA. Ordered seized items destroyed and five-year Serious Crime Prevention Order upon release.

Ronald Dear, 68, of Wryneck Close, Southampton, Hampshire, was found with more than 70,000 indecent images of children, including many of the most serious type depicting children as young as three months old crying in pain from abuse. He covertly filmed an elderly woman using the toilet by placing a camera there while decorating her home in Southampton around 10 years ago. He had been downloading images since September 2013 via the dark web and was also attracted to older women. Arrested on July 2, 2017, after reports of downloading a single indecent image.
Pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing indecent images of children (categories A to C) and voyeurism. Previously of good character. Judge Christopher Parker QC cited the seriousness and huge amount of images. Made subject of indefinite sexual harm prevention order and must notify police of address changes for life.

Robert Bezer (38), of Forest Gate Court in Ringwood, sexually assaulted four female colleagues over a four-year period while working at a New Forest petrol station. Offences included speaking inappropriately, giving unwanted gifts, hugging from behind and brushing their breasts, telling one 'I think I touched your boobs', grabbing one by the hips and pulling her onto his lap, kissing victims on the neck, putting hand on thigh, and regular cuddling from behind. Complaints made to management but not acted on soon enough. Victims felt anxious, nervous, uncomfortable, and some traumatised.
Pleaded guilty to four charges of sexual assault of a female. One previous conviction for inciting a female to engage in a sexual act, for which he received a community order. Being assessed by GP for autism. Remorseful. Judge noted offences passed custody threshold but suspended sentence as a close run thing.
Samuel Woolley
Causing death by careless driving while over the alcohol limit *

On the night of December 22, 2017, Samuel Woolley, 27, was driving his Ford Focus along Brownhill Way, Southampton, around midnight when he struck cyclist Richard Gardner, 32. The victim died later the same day in hospital. Instead of helping, Woolley fled the scene. Police investigation revealed he had visited three pubs and consumed at least six pints and a Jägermeister shot between mid-afternoon and midnight. An expert used a later breath sample to prove he was over the drink-drive limit at the time of the collision. Woolley's father tipped off police after he confessed to the crash.
Pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving while over the limit and failing to stop after a crash. Fled the scene. Also banned from driving for 6 years and 8 months with an extended re-test period.
Sara Hasell

Sara Hasell conducted a stalking campaign against her ex-partner after their relationship ended in September 2023. She made false claims to social services, the mother of his children, and police alleging drug use and abuse. She bombarded him with 651 calls in 17 days, 200 calls on another occasion with 100 voicemails, and sent threatening emails including wishes for him to overdose and lose his children. She also targeted his new partner's child with false safety claims, leading to confrontations and separations. This resulted in the victim being unable to see his children for two years, suffering severe psychological harm including an overdose attempt, and impacts on his new partner's family.
Pleaded guilty on the first day of her trial to one count of stalking and one of harassment. Previous good character. Recorder Marcus Pilgerstorfer KC ruled her behaviour so serious that only a jail term was appropriate. Indefinite restraining order imposed banning contact with ex-partner or his new partner.
Ryan Maidment
Possession and distribution of indecent images of children *

18 months imprisonment, suspended for 2 years, 160 hours unpaid work
Ryan Maidment, aged 17-18 at the time, was arrested in May 2018 after police received information about an internet connection at his flat in International Way, Southampton, used to share indecent images. Police found over 60 indecent images on his Samsung mobile phone (mostly category C), moving images, and evidence of sharing in group chats. Images included those of girls aged 4-6. He traded images with other paedophiles via an online chat site and used an app to hide photos/videos.
Admitted three counts of possession of indecent images (A-C) and three counts of distributing indecent images (A-C). No previous convictions. Ordered to complete Horizon programme, 20 days rehabilitation activity requirement, subject to notification requirements, sexual harm prevention order, and to pay £670 costs. Judge Peter Henry noted youth, isolation, and no priors.
Ryan Marshall

Ryan Marshall groomed and sexually abused a teenage girl from the Southampton area starting when she was 12 years old, between 2018 and June 2019. On one occasion, he met her at Eastleigh Train Station and they had sex in a field. He threatened to send out intimate pictures of her and pressured her into having sex with someone else. Police seized devices containing indecent images of the victim. The abuse left her with anxiety, PTSD and depression.
Pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual activity with a child, causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, grooming, attempting to incite sexual activity with a child, possession of indecent images of children and malicious communications. Handed a ten-year sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender for life.
Samantha Semple-Thomas

Dr Andrew Semple and Samantha Semple-Thomas caused unnecessary suffering to five donkeys (Fire, Sooty, River, Rosie, Ruby) and failed to ensure their needs between January and March 2024 in a field off Hatchet Lane in Beaulieu. RSPCA found donkeys underweight with poor coats, eating mouldy hay, struggling in thick mud, with mud fever and dental ulcers causing painful ulcers. One donkey found dead with missing eye.
From Holbury. Care declined after she suffered back injury and lost her father; husband took over but fed donkeys once a day with no hay.
Samie Bellows
Conspiracy to rob *

On a date in December 2015, Samie Bellows and Xavier Whyte used a stolen BMW with false plates to stake out the Sainsbury’s car park in Bitterne precinct, Southampton. When a cash delivery driver collected £30,000, Bellows, concealing his face, chased and ambushed the driver, snatched the cash box, and jumped into the getaway car where Whyte was waiting. They sped off, leaving the driver shaken but unharmed. The cash was never recovered. After CCTV reviews, forensic tests, and mobile phone tracking, both were arrested in early 2016 and later pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob at Southampton Crown Court on 27 June 2017.
Pleaded guilty to conspiracy to rob. Bellows, dressed all in black, ambushed the cash delivery driver and fled with the cash box in a stolen BMW driven by Whyte. The empty cash box was later found near Bellows’ home.

Pleaded guilty at earliest opportunity. First time before court. Described as vulnerable with low self-esteem, cares for terminally ill father. Judge noted offences crossed custody threshold but realistic prospect of rehabilitation. Subject to 10-year sexual harm prevention order.

Police raided Louis Joe Kalizewski's home on Sullivan Road, Southampton, on July 12, 2019, finding him in bed with an electronic device containing one category A, three category B, and four category C indecent images of children. The offences took place between April 15, 2018, and July 12, 2019. He claimed no knowledge of the images during interview.

Louis Rumis (82) of Farmers Walk, Everton, possessed over 70,000 indecent images and videos of children on computers, laptops and mobiles at his home. Police found 4,091 category A pictures (most severe) and 232 videos of the same category, 10,445 category B pictures and 40 videos, 60,787 category C pictures and 63 videos. Some children were as young as six months old. Arrested on 11 April 2024, admitted possession, but continued downloading while on bail, leading to more material found in 2025.
Pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of indecent images. Indefinite sexual harm prevention order; 30 rehabilitation activity requirement sessions; pay £150 costs. Judge noted huge volume of material but suspended sentence due to age (82), previous good record and ill health.
Lucas Beau Corke

Lucas Beau Corke committed a series of offences: theft from motor vehicle on 5 December 2019 in Ryde; burglary at Seaview Yacht Club on 7 December 2019; burglary at Aspire building, Dover Street, Ryde on 9 December 2019; burglary at Bouldnor Road, Yarmouth on 21 August 2021; burglary at Osborne View Hotel, Hill Head on 8 September 2021. He used stolen bank cards for fraud on various dates in August and September 2021 at locations including Harvey’s in Yarmouth, Yarmouth bus station, Hunnyhill Stores in Newport, Co-op in Bembridge, Bayside Cabin, Pebble’s Wine Bar and The Star Pub in Gosport.
Pleaded guilty to all offences including theft from motor vehicle, multiple burglaries and seven counts of fraud by false representation.

Terrance Bryant (41) and Luke Smith (36) targeted property in the early hours of 5th August 2025 in Lymington. Having stolen two BMXs from a van on High Street, the pair tried to break into a flat on St Thomas Street, then tried to force entry to a salon on Stanford Road. Smith stole a camera from a car. They burgled an address on Tylers Close, fleeing on the stolen BMXs with cash and gin. Police found both in Pennington in possession of the stolen gin.
Of Lagland Street, Poole. Admitted all offences at previous court hearings. Charged with burglary, two counts of attempted burglary, theft from a vehicle (BMXs) and further theft from a vehicle (camera).
Lewis Ball-Smith
Stalking, Assault, Drug Offences, Dangerous Driving *

Lewis Ball-Smith, 20, engaged in a crime spree involving stalking his former partner, violent assault, drug possession, and dangerous driving. In June, he stole a KTM 950 Supermoto motorcycle from Denmead and used it to terrorise his ex-girlfriend in Southampton city centre, mounting the pavement and speeding at her. After their relationship ended in May, he bombarded her with 20–30 calls daily from hidden numbers and sent threatening messages via fake Facebook accounts. Six days later, he crashed the stolen bike on Northam Bridge and was found carrying cocaine and heroin with evidence of intent to supply Class A drugs. In a separate October incident, he followed a man on Copsewood Road, struck him in the head with a tyre iron, fracturing his skull.
Pleaded guilty at Southampton Crown Court. Investigating officer DC Shaun Docker said: 'Ball-Smith has caused significant harm to his victims, showing little regard for others and putting people’s wellbeing at serious risk with his selfish and reckless acts.'
Lewis Griffiths-Bungard

Lewis Griffiths-Bungard killed 75-year-old Jill Stevens in a hit-and-run crash in New Milton on March 24, 2022. He struck her with a Citroen C1 as she crossed Old Milton Road and drove off without stopping. He was driving uninsured and unlicensed.

Despite learning the age, he continued talking, sent intimate pictures of his genitalia, and arranged to meet for sex. He was confronted by paedophile hunters from group TRAP at the meeting point in New Forest, Hampshire. Video of confrontation viewed over 800,000 times online.
Admitted one count of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming. Placed on the sex offenders' register and made subject of a sexual harm prevention order for 5 years. Grieving for stepfather David Stride at the time. Wife standing by him, which was a factor in suspension.
Kujtim Qungeli
Producing a controlled drug of Class B – Cannabis *

Elidjon Dedaj and Kujtim Qungeli were near a white van facing the wrong way in a one-way system in Alfred Street on 19 March. They tried to run away when officers approached but were detained nearby. Qungeli had been seen going into a property in Alfred Street before detention. A search revealed a large quantity of cannabis being grown under high powered lights, evidence of a substantial fire near the fuse box, and dozens of bin bags filled with cannabis believed to have a street value of £352,000.
Pleaded guilty to producing a controlled drug of Class B – Cannabis. Judge ordered seized drugs to be destroyed.

Kyle McGhee, then aged 17, filmed a 15-year-old girl having sex in Romsey on July 1, 2018, during what he described as one of his 'idiot moments'. He showed the video to four people and claimed she was 'loving it'. The girl later asked him to delete the footage. Initially arrested on suspicion of rape but not charged.
Pleaded guilty. Born with foetal drug syndrome impacting cognitive abilities, adopted, immaturity at age 17. Previous convictions include three counts of assault by beating, using threatening and abusive language, drug and driving offences.

Lauren Gould, a 27-year-old mother of two, drove drunk for two miles on the wrong side of the road through Southampton city centre on 21 December at 2:30am. Starting from Southampton Central Train Station, she drove five miles in total, with two miles on the wrong side, narrowly avoiding multiple head-on collisions. She stopped only when a tanker lorry forced her to halt. She admitted dangerous driving and failing to provide a specimen of breath or blood. The judge described her driving as 'appalling' and 'terribly dangerous', saying it was lucky no one was hurt.
Pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and failing to provide a specimen of breath or blood. Judge noted that if not for her young children, she would have been sent to prison immediately. Rehabilitation requirements also imposed.

Police found 58,000 inappropriate images on Malcolm Webster's laptop, including over 7,000 illegal pictures and indecent movies of children being abused, as well as drawings and computer-generated images of young people. Officers seized a computer tower during an inspection of his electronic devices. Webster, of Leaside Way, Southampton, Hampshire, was caught after committing his fourth child sex offence.

Manish Parmar was the postmaster at the post office inside Goldsmiths newsagent in Totton from 2011 to 2014. After the post office shut down in December 2014, he kept using his insider knowledge and an official post office branch stamp to carry out a fraud. Between 2015 and early 2016, he recruited 11 others to allow him to use their bank paying-in slips, which were sent and processed as if the post office was still open. A total of £701,835 was fraudulently paid into Parmar’s and his co-conspirators’ bank accounts.
Found guilty on 15 January 2018 of fraud and two counts of money laundering. He used his former position as postmaster and an official branch stamp to defraud the Post Office of £701,835 between 2015 and early 2016, recruiting 11 others to use their bank paying-in slips.

Mark Anthony Mengham, aged 60, of Alfred Close in Totton, exchanged messages, often of a highly sexual nature, with a child who had repeatedly stated that they were 13 years old – although the victim was not real (decoy) – between December 2020 and January 2021 in the Totton area. Arrested on Friday 15 January 2021 and charged with attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, attempting to cause or incite a female child under 13 to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity, and attempting to cause a child aged 13 to 15 to view images of sexual activity. Sentenced on one count of attempted sexual communication with a child and one count of attempting to cause a child to watch a sexual act.
Found guilty of numerous offences. Also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for five years, comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years, complete 40 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days, and pay a victim surcharge and court costs.

Mark McCormick raped a 16-year-old girl and sexually assaulted boys under the age of 16, inciting them to engage in sexual activity. The offences occurred between 1997 and 2011. Victims were vulnerable, from destructive homes, and McCormick exploited them, controlling and manipulating them while living a glamorous lifestyle.
Former parish council chairman. Previously pleaded guilty to 14 indecent assaults between 1997 and 2011, including one count of rape, three of indecent activity with a child, three counts of multiple incidents of indecent assault on a child, five of indecent assault on a male person, one of sexual assault and one count of taking indecent photographs of a child. Judge Nicholas Rowland noted the victims were vulnerable and that McCormick controlled and manipulated them.

On 8 June 2021, Brady forced entry to a property on Graemar Lane, Sherfield English, by smashing the rear patio doors with a rock found in the garden. He disabled the outside alarm, conducted an untidy search inside the property, and stole jewellery, watches, and cash.

Martin Edward Manns, 59, of Twyford Road, Eastleigh, sent naked photos of himself to a girl while she was on her school break via a decoy profile set up by paedophile hunters. He was under investigation for another child sex offence at the time. Earlier, he set up an online profile 'Up for it' and sent messages to a fictional 13-year-old girl 'Mabel H' via Chatiw, controlled by a police officer, and arranged to meet her at Lidl in Coles Close, Eastleigh, where he was followed home. Offences occurred between September 2020 and June 2021.
Pleaded guilty to intentionally attempting to communicate with a child under the age of 16 for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification and attempting to meet a girl under the age of 16 with the intention of sexual activity. Described as extremely remorseful. Posed a significant risk of serious harm to young girls and risk to the public. Subject to a two-year licence upon release, must register as a sex offender indefinitely, and subject to a sexual harm prevention order until further order.

Martin Ralfs, 58, from Southampton, sped at up to 127mph on the M27 and A31 while over the drink-drive limit. During a police pursuit he rammed three police cars, causing two to be written off and three officers to be injured. The motorway was closed for hours for forensic investigation.
Pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, drink-driving, and breaching a restraining order. Three officers suffered whiplash and bruising. One-year driving ban upon release.

On 4 August, officers carried out drugs warrants at addresses in Montserrat Road, Basingstoke and Bridge Road, Southampton, identifying Catton as holding a drugs line used to send marketing messages advertising the sale of Class A drugs – heroin and crack cocaine. Officers located the mobile phone used to send these messages.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs – crack cocaine and heroin.

Michael Pulsford, 68, a former Christian youth leader and solicitor, abused six children (three boys and three girls) aged 12 to 15 between 1974 and 1989. Using his role at the Christian group Crusaders in Corsham, Wiltshire, he committed assaults at football camps on the Isle of Wight, his home, his solicitor's office, and his car. Victims described grooming, forced kisses, and exploitation of trust. One girl was abused during work experience at his firm; a boy was assaulted in a dormitory in 1974. Victims reported lifelong trauma, including insomnia and emotional distress.
Judge Peter Henry condemned him as a 'sexual predator' who abused children for his own gratification, exploiting trust. Found guilty. Name added to barred list, banned from working with children for life.
Michael Ricketts
Being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs *

Michael Ricketts was supplying cocaine and heroin for the Fire county line, which operated between Birmingham and Southampton. He was stopped and searched in Southampton on 22 July 2020, leading to mobile phones being seized. Examination of the phones showed that Ricketts was a trusted lieutenant in the Fire network, having direct contact with the line holder and running the street-level end of the operation.
Previously pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. Drugs, paraphernalia and phones seized in connection with the investigation were ordered to be destroyed.
Nabil Errouam

On Thursday 13 December, Nabil Errouam brandished a knife and threatened passersby near the Cowherds pub on Southampton Common. Police arrived just after 4.20pm and used a Taser to detain him. Three members of the public were hurt in the incident: a 17-year-old boy, an 18-year-old woman and a 50-year-old man, though none suffered serious injuries. He pleaded guilty on 28 January to multiple charges including kidnap, affray, possession and threatening with a bladed article, and two counts of wounding.
Pleaded guilty on 28 January. Detective Inspector Colin White described the incident as a frightening experience for the victims and praised witnesses and officers.
