On the afternoon of 19 November 2024, police responded to reports of hare coursing on farmland alongside the A34 near Bullington Cross. The police helicopter identified three men and two dogs in nearby fields. Officers stopped the suspects and seized the dogs, which were later rehomed.

Brett Jarvis was driving a school coach with 29 pupils on board from the Bristol area when it left the southbound carriageway of the A36 between the Ower roundabout and junction 2 of the M27 around 5am on 25th September 2025. He failed to negotiate a shallow left-hand bend while travelling at 50mph. Jarvis and a teacher suffered minor injuries. None of the pupils were hurt. The carriageway was closed for nearly 10 hours.

Pleaded guilty to one count of driving without due care and attention. District Judge Stephen Apted noted that travelling at 50mph was inappropriate for the shallow left-hand bend.

John Hornby, 62, was caught driving his Audi S4 at an average speed of 147.1mph on the M3 between junctions 7 and 6 near Basingstoke last June. He was spotted by PC Jamie Foster in an unmarked police car. The officer recorded one of the highest speeds he had ever seen on duty.

Pleaded guilty. Sentenced in absentia. The prosecutor described the offence as one of the highest speeds he had prosecuted. The officer stated it was sheer luck no collision occurred at such high speed.

On December 27 at 1.15pm, Vincent was driving a blue BMW on the A35 heading out of Southampton. He attempted to overtake a Peugeot on the wrong side, lost control, and crashed into the nearside barrier. His car then rebounded, hit the Peugeot, and crashed into the central reservation. The BMW went airborne onto the eastbound lane, colliding with a Volkswagen and a Citroen before landing upside down. Miraculously, no one suffered serious injuries. Vincent himself escaped with minor wounds.

Magistrate described dashcam footage as 'horrifying'. Vincent also received six points on his license for driving without insurance and ordered to pay £40 court costs plus £20 victim surcharge.
