4 years imprisonment
Between January and February 2024, Mark Weedon used online chat platforms to communicate with a 13-year-old boy, disguising his identity with usernames such as 'Jez_Light' and 'JLightUK'. He arranged to meet the boy in Windsor on February 1, 2024, but was arrested by police. A search of his car revealed condoms, lubricants, syringes, and heavy-duty tape, while a nearby hotel room he booked contained adult toys, lubricant, and rope. Examination of his devices uncovered a large number of images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children.
Pleaded guilty to three counts of making an indecent photograph/pseudo photograph of a child and one count each of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, arranging/facilitating the commission of sexual activity with a child – penetration, and possessing an extreme pornographic image of an animal. Detective Constable Petar Stoyanov commented that Weedon is a nasty individual who planned to commit sexual offences against a child and has been brought to justice.
