She was arrested in her vehicle at junction 6 of the M5 and was part of a group responsible for supplying 10 kilograms of cocaine and 20 kilograms of cannabis.

Ashleigh Booth went to the home of his uncle, Tony Gurney, in Evesham, where he was denied entry. He punched Mr Gurney in the face five or six times while wearing a ring, which was initially mistaken for a knuckleduster. This assault was part of the original case leading to his sentencing.
Had seven previous convictions, including for common assault in 2016. Judge imposed a four-month curfew and 20 rehabilitation activity days, and warned that further offences could lead to jail.

David Bieber, a former US marine and bodybuilder serving a life sentence for the 2003 murder of PC Ian Broadhurst and attempted murder of two colleagues, attacked prison officer Alison Smith at HMP Long Lartin on August 10, 2017. He used a homemade pronged iron bar to grab her around the neck and launch a frenzied 10-second assault, punching her face and attempting to stab her, while threatening to kill her. The attack occurred in a locked corridor where she was isolated and vulnerable. Bieber claimed it was to secure a transfer to HMP Belmarsh for medication access. He was convicted of wounding with intent and possessing an unauthorised weapon after a week-long trial. The victim sustained cuts to her mouth, chin, and four wounds to her right arm, requiring hospital treatment, and has suffered life-changing constant pain and psychological harm.
Sentenced as a dangerous offender. Attack was planned and unprovoked, aimed at securing a prison transfer for better access to painkilling medication. Victim suffered permanent psychological condition. Overall minimum term extended from 37 to 43 years, eligible for release in 2047.

Fay Newman was driving her Kia Ceed on the A448 Bromsgrove Highway towards Redditch when she overtook traffic and collided with Nick Bennell, a 35-year-old father-of-two, who had come off his Honda motorbike in a separate incident on August 18, 2021. The collision resulted in Nick's death at the scene.
The defendant was sentenced after causing the death of a motorbike rider.

Nezam Salangy murdered his 28-year-old wife Zobaidah Salangy, likely at their Prego Pizza shop on Austin Road in Bromsgrove, on or around 27 March 2020. He dumped her body in an unmarked grave near Lower Bentley village, where it remained undiscovered for six months until October 2020. Salangy covered up the murder by sending fake text messages from her phone, reporting her missing, and claiming she had left him for a new boyfriend and intended to return to Afghanistan. The body was found bound in curtain wire, wrapped in black bin bags and a duvet cover matching items from their home. Telephone evidence linked him to arranging concealment with his brothers.
Pleaded not guilty but found guilty by jury after six-week trial. Judge noted prior violence in marriage and premeditated intent to kill. Continues to deny guilt.
Mohammed Ramin Salangi

Rogers was arrested on February 14, 2014, following an investigation by West Mercia and Warwickshire Police.

Kerry Jones
Sexual assault and possession of indecent images of children *

Kerry Jones sexually assaulted a six-year-old girl by touching her under and over her clothes on April 27, 2013, while she sat on his lap. The girl reported the incident to her mother later that day due to pain. Parents contacted police, leading to Jones' arrest the next day. Investigation revealed over 3,000 indecent images and videos of children on his computer, laptop, and phone, ranging from level one to five in severity, including extreme animal pornography and an indecent image of the victim. He had been abusing children through child pornography for some time.
Pleaded guilty to 14 charges of possessing pornographic images and one charge of sexual assault. Previously of good character and remorseful. Judge took into account previous good character and remorse. Ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order issued; computers not returned.

Alan Peter Saffery, a former Redditch police officer from Spinney Grove in Hereford, carried out the offences between 1977 and 1981, taking advantage of a young girl. The offences were reported to officers by the victim during another investigation. The charges relating to making indecent images of children were from June 2013 when Saffery had downloaded images which were only discovered during the investigation for the other offences.
Found guilty of six counts of indecent assault, two counts of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 and two counts of making indecent photographs of children. Found not guilty of two counts of rape against a different person. Former police officer.

On November 23, 2013, officers attempted to stop Phidel Gonzales driving on the ring road in Redditch. He rolled out of the car and ran off, causing the vehicle to crash into a fence outside a house. After a short foot chase, he was caught and searched at a police station, where 70 deals of crack and 70 deals of heroin, with a combined street value of £2,100, were found on him.
Admitted possession of crack with intent to supply, possession of heroin with intent to supply, driving without due care and attention, driving without insurance and without a licence. Concurrent sentences for drugs offences, no separate penalty for careless driving, 9 penalty points for insurance and licence offences, disqualified from driving for 6 months upon release.
