He was arrested and later pleaded guilty to multiple child sex offences. West Mercia Police investigated the case on an evidence-led basis.
Pleaded guilty to sexual communications with a child, meeting a child following sexual grooming, sexual assault of a female child under 13, and possession of indecent photographs of a child. Also received a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and an indefinite restraining order.

Samir Rignall, a 46-year-old convicted sex offender, was caught in a sting operation by paedophile hunter group H Division. He used the alias 'Phil' to engage in explicit online conversations with a profile he believed to be a 14-year-old girl. On 4 March 2017, he travelled from Cardiff to Hereford railway station with a tent, duvet, and sex toys, intending to meet the child for sex. He was confronted by the group and arrested. The court heard he was subject to a sexual offences prevention order at the time and had previously been sentenced to six years in 2011 for abducting and having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
Pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a girl under 16 following grooming, attempting to entice her to penetrative sexual activity, breaching a sexual offences order, and failing to notify authorities of internet use. Judge said he represents a risk of real harm to children.

The pair met in secret despite her mother's restrictions. She informed her mother, leading to police involvement and discovery of the images on his phone.

In May 2020, Zackery Biddle and Declynd Mellings used a false profile name to advertise waste collections on local Facebook groups, offering to be the cheapest around during Covid-19 lockdown when recycling centres were closed. They dumped enormous amounts of fly-tipped waste at Openfields caravan site in Herefordshire, costing the council thousands to clear. Zackery Biddle also burned waste and allowed hazardous chemicals to leak into the environment.
Pleaded guilty to multiple charges of fly tipping and treating and disposing of controlled waste in a manner likely to cause pollution of the environment or harm to human health. The case followed an investigation by West Mercia Police’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit.

Landlords repaid the tenants despite never receiving the funds.

Simon Clancy, aged 44 and previously of Teme Road, Worcester, was sentenced for historic child sexual offences committed in 1992 against three boys under the age of 14. The offences came to light after an investigation by West Mercia Police, who interviewed him in April 2019. He was convicted following a two-week trial that concluded on 10 December 2020. Clancy was found guilty of seven counts of indecent assault on a boy under 14 and two counts of gross indecency with a boy under 14. In sentencing him to 12 years' imprisonment on 11 March 2021, the court also ordered him to sign the sex offenders' register.

Kilpatrick armed herself with a knife and lunged at Pahita, who defended himself with a baseball bat. The affray lasted over seven minutes and was captured on CCTV. She admitted affray between 22 and 25 November 2024, threatening communications and sending an offensive message to the victim’s mother.

Offences included failing to pay in £180 from Edith Barefield and £180 from Doreen Nokes until much later; taking £2,000 and £700 cheques from Sheila Wardle; making seven £300 withdrawals totalling £2,400 from Joan Jones's account after her death without informing the bank; and withdrawing over £8,000 from Arthur Waldwyn's £50,000 care home account. The firm reimbursed the losses and reported him to police.
Pleaded guilty to four counts of fraud and one of theft. Judge Richard Rundell highlighted abuse of trust as a family solicitor dealing with vulnerable clients' money.

Between 2011 and March 2015, Matthew Bart Samuels, 50, of Broadway Grove, Worcester, met five women on internet dating sites and conned them out of hundreds of thousands of pounds through various tactics. He posed as a millionaire, drove expensive cars, wined and dined them to gain trust, stole £110,000 from one victim by promising investments, persuaded others to set up car companies which he ran using fraudulent finance deals leading to spiralling debt, and claimed financial crises to extract money which he spent on luxury cars and holidays while his partner was unaware.
Found guilty of eight counts of fraud. Showed no empathy or remorse towards victims.

Mark Smyth, sole director of Arrow Gypsum Recycling Ltd, breached the company’s environmental permit by storing gypsum waste outside the building at Crucible Business Park in Norton, Worcester, during early 2015. The permit required waste to be stored inside to avoid environmental risk. He abandoned the site with 29 tonnes of gypsum plasterboard outside and over 5,000 tonnes inside. He ignored attempts by Environment Agency officers to address the breach and failed to comply with a formal enforcement notice to clear the waste.
Pleaded guilty to breaching the company’s environmental permit condition. Found guilty of failing to comply with an enforcement notice. His Honour Judge Cole noted substantial clean-up costs of £450,000 as a serious aggravating feature. Sentence suspended considering impact on his 12-year-old daughter, her mother, and his previous good character.

Mark Chilman murdered 66-year-old Neil Parkinson from Clifton-Upon-Teme. On December 12, 2020, Neil was attacked at the end of the driveway while leaving his partner’s property in Cotheridge. Chilman drove Neil and his vehicle to a layby on Ankerdine Road and set them alight.

Maxwell Drapkin, 37, from Mike Oborski Close, Kidderminster, showed up at his ex-partner’s home in Stourport-on-Severn on 21 September 2025. He grabbed her by the neck, pushed her to the floor, dragged her into the kitchen, and strangled her while striking her head. She sustained injuries to her head and eye and was taken to hospital. The victim fled by climbing out of a window barefoot, stepping on broken glass, before seeking help from neighbours.
Pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation and was convicted of attempted murder following a trial. Victim praised for bravery in escaping and supporting the investigation.

The girl broke free and called the police. Beardmore was arrested at his home a short time later after being identified by the victim.

Joshua James Andrew Foster raped a seven-year-old girl in Weymouth by forcing her to perform a sex act on him. He also exposed himself to the same victim and dared her to perform a sex act during a game. Both offences occurred in January 2011 at Hereford Road, Weymouth, Dorset. The victim, now eight, provided a recorded police interview using dolls to demonstrate the incidents.

Joshua Kanu, of Libra Road, Upton Park, Plaistow, London, was arrested on 19th August 2024 at a property on Chedworth Drive, Warndon, after police responded to reports of suspicious behaviour. Officers found him inside with substantial quantities of heroin and crack cocaine, drug-related items, multiple mobile phones, and cash. Forensic examination of his phones revealed evidence of drug trafficking, including dealer slang, discussions of drug weights, and the cutting process. Kanu was involved in a county lines operation, travelling from London to supply drugs in Worcester. He was convicted of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.
Pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin. Received a concurrent sentence of 31 months for each offence. The court ordered destruction of seized drugs, paraphernalia, and a knife. Forfeiture of £1,008 cash and a victim surcharge of £228.

On Thursday, November 30, police stopped him and Edwin Onyme-Campbell inside Coral betting shop on Widemarsh Street in Hereford. They were found to have three large knives, a large quantity of class-A drugs, two burner phones and cash.

Kestutis Lekunas, 36, stabbed his friend, 40-year-old Nerijus Liukpetris, to death at his home in Ross-on-Wye in October 2022. The pair had been at a party at Lekunas' house when they became involved in an argument outside. An altercation took place before Lekunas went back into the house and returned with a knife, fatally stabbing Liukpetris in the neck. He was arrested by West Mercia Police and subsequently convicted of murder.

Prosecuted for 6 offences involving approximately 25,000 cubic metres of waste that was dumped, buried or burned. Grew business and invested in properties, land, cars and heavy plant hire. Used sham Trust and proxy company bank account to hide unlawful activity.
Under Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. 3 months to pay or faces 7 years in jail. Previously received 26-month custodial sentence in May 2018 for same offences. Judge Nicholas Cole ruled a Trust set up by defendant was a sham.

John Shaw, of Headless Cross, Redditch, was driving a high performance Jaguar from a promotional event at Sixways stadium when he lost control earlier, corrected it, then accelerated again, fishtailing as he came off the roundabout before ploughing head-on into David Smith's Volkswagen Golf at over 50mph on Pershore Lane about 2.15pm on October 12, 2013, outside Worcester Warriors Sixways stadium. David Smith, a 59-year-old rugby referee on his way to the stadium, died from his injuries. Shaw showed little compassion during the trial and accelerated instead of stopping after previously losing control.
Found guilty by jury of causing death by dangerous driving after admitting death by careless driving but denying dangerous driving. Has a clean record. Banned from driving for four years and must take extended driving test. Will serve half in prison and half on licence. Suffered serious injuries and awaiting spinal fusion.

Jordan Porter, 25, of Bromford Lane in Washwood Heath, Birmingham, strangled a woman and subjected her to controlling and coercive behaviour, inflicting emotional and physical abuse on his victim.
Pleaded guilty to controlling and coercive behaviour and two counts of intentional strangulation. Handed an indefinite restraining order. DC Helen Goode described him as a dangerous man who inflicted emotional and physical abuse, praising the victim's bravery.

Between September 2004 and 2011, James Boyles, 69, of Upton, raped a sleeping woman on a number of occasions and filmed the assaults. Police found footage on his computer of him filming another woman while she slept using a hidden camera. Boyles had also downloaded and made several indecent images of children.
Admitted two counts of rape, one of attempted rape and one of sexual assault. Convicted of 15 sexual offences. Sentence later increased to 6 years by the Court of Appeal as unduly lenient on referral by the Solicitor General.

James Cash carried out burglaries on September 7 at three homes in the Blackpole and Fernhill Heath areas. Arrested after a member of the public reported men breaking into a house on Ivy Lane in Fernhill Heath, providing car details. Police found the car within 15 minutes; Cash was in the driving seat and detained. Stolen items from the burglaries that evening were found in the car and dumped nearby. Three other suspects escaped.
Pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary and one count of perverting the course of justice. Gave false details throughout investigation and court case. Aged 28, from Gloucester.
