On June 5, 2015, Dawn Wild, aged 41, entered the Abbey pub in Redditch with her three-year-old Pomeranian dog Molly to use the toilet. The dog ran loose, escaped attempts to contain it, and bit a two-year-old girl, causing a bruise. Wild attempted to apologise but shouted and swore at the family before leaving. She then collapsed in the road, causing drivers to swerve, and the dog bit a man who tried to help but caused no injury.
Pleaded guilty. District Judge Nigel Cadbury noted the seriousness, mentioning she was so drunk she collapsed in the street and fell asleep in the middle of the carriageway. Defence stated she had stopped taking anti-depressant tablets, felt fragile, may have drank alcohol, and is usually a responsible dog owner.
