On March 31, after two inebriated men confronted him at his girlfriend's home, he pushed, shoved, and punched them, fracturing one man's jaw and tooth. Later that day, in a rage with a woman and her son, he punched and bit a stranger who intervened to protect them, tearing off a chunk of skin from the man's head in front of children. Victims reported lasting trauma, paranoia, and fear of going out.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one count of affray. Has prior convictions for ABH (2023), wounding (2022), assault of an emergency worker and ABH (2016), and wounding (2015). Restraining order imposed for 5 years not to contact victims. The behaviour had escalated over the previous eight months from shouting and sulking to physical violence. While the victim was texting at the kitchen table, Kent asked about dinner and she asked him to wait. He pushed a table towards her, causing her to fall to the floor. Later, he held her phone above her head, leading to another fall. The victim suffered swelling to the side of her head and multiple bruises, attending A&E the next day. She described being very frightened, scared of him, and worried about having to leave the county.
Pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm. Restraining order preventing contact with his wife for 5 years. Of good character, worked in property industry, poor health, acted as wife's carer under stress. Judge noted victim was vulnerable with prosthetic leg, multiple bruises, some risk to wife but not to public.

He took out a small knife and demanded the officer's phone, saying 'give me your phone'. The officer shone his torch, identified himself as police, and Hunt ran away. CCTV captured Hunt entering the alley at 9.10pm and fleeing two minutes later. He returned home shortly after and was arrested that night, with knives found in his bedroom. The victim reported a profound effect, feeling vulnerable and anxious.
Pleaded guilty to attempted robbery; not guilty to possessing a knife in a public place. Judge noted significant drug habit at the time, challenges in life, age, and late guilty plea. No previous convictions. Lives quietly with father now, no longer uses Class A drugs, no contact with previous associates.

On December 30, 2024, Aiden Robert Parsons, 19, from South Park in St Columb, was riding his Honda NSC 110 moped on the A392 with an unauthorized pillion passenger on a provisional licence. When signalled to stop by Devon and Cornwall Police, he sped off, colliding with a stationary vehicle before continuing. He accelerated to 60mph through Quintrell Downs (30mph limit), overtook vehicles by crossing double white lines, and the passenger threw objects at police during the 10-minute pursuit. The moped was abandoned, and Parsons was found with a police dog. He tested positive for 9.2 microgrammes of THC (legal limit 2mg).

Shortly after, he entered Klimek Jewellers nearby, asked to see rings, attempted to grab a ring multiple times, banged his fist on the counter, yelled 'where’s the money?', swept items off the counter, pushed past staff, and tried to access the cash register. Following the attempted robbery, he was stopped by a police officer, became aggressive, and threw the stolen bottle at the officer, missing by inches but hitting a five-year-old child and causing injury. The officer described it as the most scared he had been in his career, and the shop worker was terrified.
Pleaded guilty to attempted robbery, assault by beating of an emergency worker, possession of cannabis and assault by beating. Has previous convictions for 86 offences. Suffers from emotionally unstable personality disorder. Aggravating factors include extensive criminal record, under influence of alcohol, and recent release from prison. Judge accepted background contributed to difficulties and noted genuine remorse.

The first victim, met online, was subjected to a violent rape at his home after being given alcohol, possibly spiked, and informed of his prior rape conviction and possession of a knife by the bed. The second victim was raped in her own home despite her lack of consent, following a period of 'love bombing' and engagement in some sexual activity. The offences were strikingly similar, with no psychiatric explanation for his behaviour and a clear disregard for consent.
Found guilty of three counts of rape by a jury. Previous conviction for rape in 2012. Presents a significant risk of harm to women. Remained on sex offenders register indefinitely. Wept during sentencing.

Despite a sexual harm prevention order in place since October 2008 banning contact with children under 18 due to sexual offences from 1981 and 2000, he showered the girl with presents, gave money to parents, took her on walks, and was alone with her in his car from her birth. Contact persisted after the family moved from Newquay to St Columb Major. The mother grew wary and reported him to police, leading to arrest and charge for breach.
Pleaded guilty to breaching sexual harm prevention order. Placed back on the sex offenders' register. Judge noted lifelong entrenched sexual interest in children. Has 10 convictions for 24 offences including similar breaches and sexual offences.

David Pengelly, 65, of The Warren, Polperro, repeatedly sexually assaulted a young man in his village on the south coast of Cornwall. He filmed the victim in a sexual way without consent and on one occasion broke into the victim's house and sexually assaulted him while he slept. The assaults caused severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and suicidal thoughts, leading the victim and his family to move out of the area. The victim described his life as totally shattered and his purpose in life as obsolete.
Found guilty by a majority verdict after trial of several charges of sexual assault on a male and one of voyeurism. Will serve two thirds before release on licence. Placed on the sex offenders' register for life. Defence noted he was of good character but led a sad and lonely life. Judge commented on the devastating lifelong impact on the victim and that only a custodial sentence was appropriate due to the seriousness of the case.

Peter O'Donnell, 82, from Redruth, poured a dog bowl of water over his 57-year-old wife's head and punched her in the face with an uppercut after she asked him to tidy his messy bedroom on June 2025 at their home in Pond Lane's End, Redruth. The punch caused her teeth to bite through her tongue, resulting in significant bleeding. He hid the phones to prevent her calling police and fled, returning the next day. This was his third assault on her in 18 months; previously, he struck her with a wooden shoehorn in December 2024, leaving her unconscious, and poured hot baked beans over her head in April 2025.
Convicted of assault causing actual bodily harm after denying the incident. Previous suspended sentence and conditional discharge for similar assaults on his wife. Judge noted 'entrenched pattern of behaviour'. 10-year restraining order imposed.

Investigations from 2017 to 2021 revealed doctored commissioning tests and false reports, with no hazardous waste liquids recorded despite processing thousands of vehicles, estimated to produce 14,100 tonnes of waste engine oil and 1,250 tonnes of brake fluid over five years. A false consignment note was provided in 2022.

The money was used for home improvements, trips to luxury hotels in London, cars, and a £4,000 Rolex watch for her son. Additionally, in 2022, she transferred over £4,000 from Looe Town Football Club into her own account, money raised in memory of a young man who died.
Pleaded guilty to Fraud by abuse of position. Also stole over £4,000 from Looe Town Football Club while acting as treasurer. Judge noted she stole from her own mother who sold her house for care fees and lavished the money on family.
