On March 21, 2026, Jessie-May Turpin, aged 31, of Lipson Road, attempted to steal items from the Co-op store on Wilton Street, Millbridge, Plymouth, leading to a disturbance. She damaged £3,005 worth of property belonging to the store, possessed several broken bottles as an offensive weapon, and engaged in affray. Police were called, and she was arrested. Additionally, she had previously assaulted a police officer at Derriford Hospital on November 18, 2025, by spitting on him.
Pleaded guilty to assaulting an emergency worker, criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon, and affray. Ordered to pay £400 compensation to the store and £50 to the store staff. Three charges of common assault and theft withdrawn by the Crown Prosecution Service.
