Danny Boyle
Rape, assault, and strangulation *
Sentence
15 years imprisonment
In February 2024, in the West Midlands, Boyle attacked a woman who had refused his request for sex. He punched her arms and legs, struck her repeatedly with a metal bar, raped her, strangled her using a scarf, and threw an ashtray at her head, causing actual bodily harm. In early March 2024, in Abergele, North Wales, Boyle assaulted another woman: he hit her in the face, grabbed her by the hair, and struck both sides of her ribs with clenched teeth. The victim contacted police, leading to his arrest at Abergele and Pensarn railway station. She later described Boyle as a 'monster' and reported a diagnosis of complex post-traumatic stress disorder, including nightmares and screaming. Boyle had a traumatic childhood and was taking courses while in custody.
Convicted after trial in July 2024. Judge John Edwards described him as 'a highly manipulative, extremely volatile, and violent young man' with no remorse. Also given extended licence period, indefinite restraining order, sexual harm prevention order, and sex offenders register requirements.
