Kastriot Ponari, 46, was caught with a stash of drugs in Cambridge in August 2022 while leaving his former home in Queen Edith’s Way. Officers searched the premises and found mobile phones, £1,785 in cash, and the garage being used as a drugs preparation area. Cannabis worth between £3,000 and £5,000, packages of cocaine worth about £15,000, 169 MDMA tablets worth £1,400, and three-quarters of a kilogram of cocaine worth between £19,000 and £32,000 were discovered. A financial investigation revealed he benefitted £724,938.89 from criminal conduct.
Pleaded guilty to offering to supply MDMA, being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and being concerned in the supply of MDMA. POCA hearing ordered repayment of £128,881.40 within three months or face additional year in prison.

Christopher Woods, 39, of Garner Court, Huntingdon, entered the back garden and property of a victim's home in Sawtry in the early hours of April 23, 2023. He was carrying a pint glass and was captured on CCTV trying door handles. Inside, he spoke to a young girl who had awoken and gone downstairs, then assaulted her. He left after roughly 40 minutes, and the victim reported the incident to her mother the next day, leading to police involvement. Fingerprints on the pint glass matched Woods, resulting in his arrest and conviction.
Denied charges of assaulting a girl under 13 by touching and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order; found guilty after a trial. DC Paul Evans described the case as truly awful, noting Woods as a high-risk sex offender whose actions will have a long-term impact on the victim.

On 26 April, Harvey Bird, 19, of Windsor Park, King’s Lynn, was spotted by an off-duty police officer riding a motorbike along North End, Wisbech, without a helmet. He was observed weaving in and out of traffic and doing a wheelie. CCTV operators followed him, witnessing him continue to ride dangerously and pull another two wheelies in Churchill Road and Freedom Bridge. The following day, he was interviewed and reported for the offences.
Pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, failing to wear protective headgear when riding a motorcycle on a road, driving without a licence, and driving without insurance. Also given a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order restricting motor vehicle use.

Rinalds Graudins, 43, of West Lake Avenue, Hampton Vale, Peterborough, was caught driving a BMW 5 series in the early hours of 11 October in Peterborough, with the front bumper and a wheel hanging off, as well as the bonnet being crumpled. Police received a 999 call from a member of the public reporting a suspected drink driver due to erratic driving and sparks from front-end damage. CCTV operators spotted the car in St John’s Street, Eastgate, and directed officers to it. He was stopped and arrested after giving a roadside breath reading of 103.

Tina Shortell, 67, of Orton Brimbles, Peterborough, failed to care for 18 dogs and 3 cats at a property in Guyhirn, near Wisbech. In April 2023, police received reports of dogs fighting and a rotten smell, leading to forced entry where animals were found in filthy conditions without food or water. Veterinary reports revealed malnutrition, dehydration, fleas, ulcers, matted coats soaked with urine and faeces, and three pregnant animals. The animals were seized and later rehomed.
Pleaded guilty to neglect and causing unnecessary suffering to an animal. Banned from keeping animals for life and ordered to pay costs and £6,000 compensation to Ravenswood Pet Rescue.

On 14 November, police executed a warrant at a house in Beckingham, Orton Goldhay, Peterborough, suspected of being used to grow cannabis. Ledjon Petku, 19, of Nightingale Road, Harlesdon, Greater London, and another were found inside. They attempted to escape by climbing into the loft and forcing through the roof but were persuaded to return and arrested. Multiple rooms in the house had been converted for growing cannabis, with 53 plants worth up to £44,520 discovered. The house suffered extensive damage from the conversion.

Blake Healy, 27, of Victoria Road, Cambridge, was arrested on Monday after being identified on CCTV for thefts between 12 and 21 November. He stole meat, chocolate, clothing and candles from Co-Op in Milton Road, JD Sports in the Grafton Centre, Savers in St Andrew’s Street and Superdry in Petty Cury. He also pushed a member of staff who challenged him as he was leaving Superdry with a jacket on 21 November.
Pleaded guilty to five counts of theft, an attempted theft and common assault. Must pay a total of £606 in compensation.

The offences included theft of washing powder and meat worth £71.14 on 23 October; items worth £70 on 24 October; items worth £160 on 25 October; items worth £25 on 26 October; items worth £50 on 28 October; items worth £100 on 29 October; items to an unknown value on 30 October; items worth £30 on 5 November; items worth £70 on 6 November; items worth £50 on 7 November; items worth £150-£200 on 11 November; items worth £150 on 11 November; items to an unknown value on 12 November; and items worth £80 on 12 November. He was spotted on a bike by officers on patrol in Lutton Grove, Westwood, on 16 November.

Edward Poole, a 79-year-old man, sexually assaulted paramedics on two occasions at his home in Dorchester Crescent, Parnwell, Peterborough. The first incident occurred on 29 May 2023, when a paramedic was called to his home for chest pains and he assaulted her while she checked his blood pressure. He apologised, claiming it was an accident, and was taken to hospital. The second incident was on 26 June 2023, when three female paramedics, including a student, attended for further chest pains. As they were leaving, he assaulted the student paramedic.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault. Also ordered to pay £400 in compensation, £300 in costs, and £60 victim surcharge.

Nathaniel Martin

Nathaniel Martin, a 34-year-old registered sex offender from Maule Close, Eynesbury, St Neots, was found with 117 indecent images and 10 indecent videos of children on his mobile phone during an unannounced visit by the Management of Sexual or Violent Offender team in September 2023. Among these, 30 images and five videos were category A, the most severe. He had a prior conviction in 2021 for three counts of making indecent images of children, for which he received a 10-month suspended sentence. Martin admitted the new charges at Huntingdon Magistrates' Court on 22 August 2023 before being sentenced at Peterborough Crown Court.

Jason Blackall, 47, of Primrose Hill Drive, Swillington, Leeds, was driving erratically along the A1 while drunk. Police found him stopped and out of fuel on Old Oundle Road, Wittering, near Peterborough, on the evening of 2 October. A member of the public reported him. He was arrested and charged with drink driving after blowing 139 in custody, almost four times the legal limit of 35.
Admitted the offence. Also handed a 32-month driving disqualification. Repeatedly apologised to officers and admitted he was drunk.
Ashton Smyrk
Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent *

Ashton Smyrk jumped out of bushes on Oxmoor Lane in Huntingdon on April 24, 2022, shouting at a man in his 50s before throwing a drinks can at his face. A scuffle ensued, resulting in the victim being kicked three times in the face while on the floor and having part of his ear bitten off. Smyrk was identified via CCTV, arrested in Peterborough three days later, and found in possession of cocaine, heroin, cannabis worth £4,210, cash, scales, and mobile phones.
Pled guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent and possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs. PC Chester Lewis noted that the victim suffered significant injuries and psychological impact.
Richard Hardcastle

Richard Hardcastle was driving a lorry towing a petrol tanker at just before 8am on 7 October 2022 when he struck cyclist Anna Garratt-Quinton on the roundabout junction of Fendon Road and Hills Road in Cambridge. The 22-year-old died at the scene. Witnesses stated she would have been in his view for several seconds, but he claimed he did not see her due to hanging his coat over the side view camera display screen. The proximity alarm did not alert him.

On 25 September 2021, at about 6pm, Matthew Larrington, 29, of Ainsdale Avenue, Werrington, Peterborough, was walking along Churchfield Road in Walton, Peterborough, when he noticed a 14-year-old girl looking at herself in a car window. He falsely accused her of keying his car, shouted abuse, chased her to a park in Mounsteven Avenue, cornered her, grabbed her by the shoulders, and kneed her in the face, causing minor injuries. His girlfriend intervened, and they fled. Larrington refused interviews and was arrested after identification.
Pleaded guilty to affray and activation of suspended sentence for domestic violence offences. Charges of attempted robbery, assault and committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence ordered to lie on file.

Clara Nemcova, 29, of Mitchell Close, Eastgate, Peterborough, attempted to steal nine Ted Baker gift sets worth £112.50 from Boots pharmacy in Westgate, Peterborough, earlier on October 23. Later that afternoon, she attempted to leave the store with five gift sets worth £78. Security staff intervened on the second attempt, leading to her arrest by police.
Admitted two counts of theft. Part of the sentence included activation of a previously suspended four-week sentence for common assault and possession of heroin. PC Louise Ashworth noted that Nemcova had been given a second chance earlier in the year but continued to disregard the law.
Zoraise Ashraf
Perverting the course of justice *

Zoraise Ashraf, 29, of Brampton Road, Huntingdon, deliberately crashed his white Peugeot Boxer work van into a business premises in George Street, Huntingdon, at about 9.40pm on 29 December 2020, as a revenge attack following the dismissal of a relative as a client in November 2020 after over 20 years of family business relations. He then falsely reported the van as stolen at about 8.30am on 30 December 2020. CCTV footage showed him parking the van outside his home at about 5.20pm on 29 December, driving off at about 8.10pm, and walking back home at about 10pm after the crash. The incident caused more than £25,000 in damage to the business and the van. Police had already recovered the abandoned van before his false report.
Pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and two counts of criminal damage. Disqualified from driving for 12 months.

In the early hours of October 20, 2023, Lee Chignell, 33, of no fixed address, was caught on CCTV smashing a Starbucks window in Peterborough with a glass bottle. He had earlier stolen a metal pole from Middletons Steakhouse in Bridge Street and was walking around with it. When police arrived, he threw the glass bottle at them, but it missed. Officers threatened to taser him before arresting him during Safer Business Action Week.
Admitted criminal damage, possession of offensive weapon in a public place and theft. Released from court but arrested the following day and recalled to prison due to prior suspended sentence.

He was arrested by neighbourhood policing officers on foot patrol and later identified and arrested at his home in Ecton Grove, Elm.

CCTV footage showed her standing outside while William Fletcher entered the building and stole items. The pair returned twice more that night, stealing a laptop, two flat screen TVs, and a trumpet. They used wheelie bins at 2am to disguise the thefts.
Admitted three counts of non-dwelling burglary. Failed to attend court on 9 September and was arrested out of the county.
Floyd Coppolaro
Possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence *

Floyd Coppolaro was found slumped over the wheel of his BMW in the Tesco car park in Abbots Ripton Road, Huntingdon, on March 11, 2023. Staff were concerned for his welfare and called paramedics, who attended to the 48-year-old. He became aggressive and pulled out what appeared to be a small black handgun, later confirmed as a BB gun. Armed officers arrested him and found the gun under the passenger seat, along with drugs in the vehicle. He was arrested again on June 1, 2023, in Ramsey, where he was found passed out with a knife and class A drugs in his possession.
Pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, possession of a class C drug, possession with intent to supply heroin, and possession of an offensive weapon. Detective Constable Lee Hurley commented that staff and paramedics were concerned for his welfare and that carrying weapons is taken seriously.
Zak Reeve
Making indecent images and distributing indecent photographs *

Zak Reeve was arrested in connection with an arson in February 2023, during which a search of his mobile phone revealed hundreds of indecent images and videos of children, including over 100 category A images. Further searches of his home uncovered additional images on a laptop and a second mobile phone. The images were created and distributed prior to his arrest.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of making indecent images and distributing indecent photographs. Detective Constable Zip Lloyd commented on the investigation and the importance of monitoring sex offenders.

Jake Brown attacked a woman at a property in Peterborough in the early hours of 21 January. He repeatedly punched and bit her, pressed his thumbs into her eyes in an attempt to gouge them out, and then raped her. The victim managed to escape, used a neighbour's phone to seek help, and Brown stole her phone before fleeing. He was arrested later that day at Peterborough railway station.
Denied charges but was found guilty on all counts after a trial. Placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life. DC Helen Williams commended the victim's bravery and highlighted the horrific nature of the attack.

Ryan Leicester
Possession with intent to supply class A drugs *

2 years and 8 months imprisonment and disqualified from driving for 18 months
Ryan Leicester was spotted riding his red and white Yamaha motorcycle on July 29 in Little Paxton and attempted to carry it, which raised suspicions. Police stopped him on Mill Road, where he blew 77 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath, more than twice the legal limit. Officers found £1,940 in cash, cannabis, and cocaine on him, and a search of his home in Samuel Jones Crescent revealed an illegal extendable baton. This led to his arrest and subsequent sentencing.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, possession with intent to supply class B drugs, possession of criminal property, drink driving, and possession of an offensive weapon. Detective Constable Mike Kinnaird commented that Leicester drew attention to himself with suspicious movements and that the community is safer with him imprisoned.
Andrew Cochrane

Andrew Cochrane, after his relationship ended in March 2022, harassed his ex-partner by making nearly 80 calls in two days, leaving threatening voicemails, following her to her workplace and a pub, threatening to slit the throat of any new boyfriend, assaulting her by forcefully slamming a car door on her leg causing extensive bruising, and damaging her car, which left her feeling unsafe in her home and at work.
Pleaded guilty to stalking, assault occasioning actual bodily harm (ABH), and criminal damage.
Michael Ledlie
Possession with intent to supply crack cocaine *

Michael Ledlie, 26, was seen driving a blue Kia Rio linked to drug dealing in Ermine Street, Huntingdon, on July 11. He led police on a pursuit, reaching speeds of 80mph in a 40mph zone, overtaking across solid white lines, and crashed into a hedge at the Alconbury Weald roundabout. He was arrested at the scene with six packages of crack cocaine worth £60, £300 in cash, and cannabis worth £30. A search of his home uncovered crack cocaine worth £1,600 in a bowl, digital scales, and phone numbers written on a piece of paper.
Pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, possession with intent to supply cannabis, dangerous driving, driving with no licence, and driving with no insurance. DC Andrea Farnes commented that drugs destroy lives and highlighted the danger posed by his driving.

Catherine Lloyd, 44, attacked her neighbour, a man in his 20s, by hitting him over the head with a spade outside his property in George Street, Woodston, Peterborough, at about 9.30pm on 14 May 2023. This followed a three-year dispute between the neighbours. The victim sustained a cut to his head that required hospital treatment. Lloyd had no known address at the time.
Admitted grievous bodily harm without intent. DC Lloyd Davis commented that her behaviour was completely unacceptable and that violence is not the answer, regardless of any ongoing dispute.

CCTV footage showed him entering the building and stealing a TV, with Carina Cunningham standing outside. The pair returned twice more that night, stealing a laptop, two flat screen TVs, and a trumpet. They used wheelie bins at 2am to disguise the thefts.
Initially received a two-year community order with six-month drug rehabilitation requirement and 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement, plus £300 compensation, after admitting three counts of non-dwelling burglary. Jailed for breaching the community order and new offences.

On February 11, 2022, Bryan Field went to Shangri-La Farm in Todds Green looking for his estranged wife. Armed with a large kitchen knife concealed in a black plastic bag, he entered the office of a business where she worked and attacked two people inside. He stabbed a man in the thigh, narrowly missing his femoral artery, and attempted to stab him in the neck. He also stabbed a woman in the arm with such force that the knife blade broke off. Both victims required surgery for their injuries. Field was arrested shortly after the incident near Luton.
Found guilty following a two-week trial. Issued with indefinite restraining orders not to contact the victims.

Adam Abdellouche, 19, was driving a Fiat 500 at more than 100mph on the A1 near Sawtry, near Peterborough, at about 10.45pm on 14 April. The vehicle was stopped by traffic officers in Burghley Road, Peterborough city centre, after which he ran from officers, fell, and dropped a clear plastic bag of crack cocaine. A search revealed additional wraps of crack cocaine and heroin hidden in his underwear, with the drugs having a potential value of more than £7,000.

Mickey Boots, 28, of London Road, Yaxley, began communicating with a 13-year-old girl from Lancashire on March 18, 2023, via Snapchat and WhatsApp. He falsely claimed to be 17 and, despite knowing her age, encouraged her to touch herself, requested inappropriate images, sent her inappropriate photos in return, and asked her to save his number as 'daddy'. He also called her while touching himself, with conversations ending on March 21, 2023. The victim reported the incidents, leading to his arrest and seizure of devices.
Pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual communications with a child and causing/inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity. Placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely. Detective Inspector George Neal commented on the vile nature of the abuse and its potential lasting impact on victims.
Luke Carr

Luke Carr, 29, of Tilton Court, Peterborough, carried out the rape on October 2, 2021, at a house in Peterborough. He attacked a woman while she was sleeping, and when she woke up feeling bruising and confronted him, he claimed it was unintentional. He ploughed into the back of a Seat Leon, causing it to lift into the air and crash into the central reservation, blocking the carriageway. The other driver suffered a fractured nose, concussion, and various cuts and grazes, requiring hospital treatment at Peterborough City Hospital.

On the evening of April 11, Paul Coulson, 34, of Kendrick Close, Stanground, was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. As he drove away, PC Tom Malby, in high-viz uniform, stood in the road and signalled him to stop, but Coulson continued driving towards the officer, stopping about two feet in front. He was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through alcohol and gave an evidential reading of 99 in custody, almost three times the legal limit of 35.

Paul Priestley, 44, of Pennington, Orton Goldhay, was caught on CCTV on three occasions over the weekend of 25 and 26 March 2023, during the early hours, trying car door handles in Sevenacres, Orton Brimbles, Kilbride and Kelburn in Orton Northgate. He was arrested on 27 March 2023 by the Integrated Offender Management Team at Ortongate Shopping Centre, where he was found in possession of a lock knife and cannabis. Priestley has a criminal record spanning 29 years with hundreds of theft-related offences. He was previously given a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order on 20 March 2018 prohibiting him from touching or entering unattended vehicles, with a curfew added the following year.
Admitted three counts of interfering with a motor vehicle, possession of cannabis and possession of a knife in a public place. Must complete a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
