Samuel Gill, during a 10-month relationship, subjected his girlfriend to ongoing abuse, including grabbing her by the leg and dragging her off a bed on 12 December of the previous year while shouting threats like 'I’m gonna kill you one of these days'. He spat at her, punched her in the face causing her nose to bleed, and kicked her in the ribs while she slept. He also monitored her movements via a phone app and video doorbell, criticised her clothing, stole her bankcard to withdraw £380, transferred £226 from her bank account, and damaged her phone and laptop. The attacks occurred in front of her terrified children, and the abuse had been ongoing for the past six months.
Pleaded guilty to five counts of assault, three counts of criminal damage, and two counts of fraud. DC Lauren Easton noted that Gill was a violent man who assaulted the victim in her own home in front of her children and emotionally manipulated her.

She was identified via CCTV and arrested on 25 March.
Admitted the offences. PC Michelle Bax noted that Slater provided false details to avoid arrest and showed disregard for the impact of her crimes.

Dawid Gabryelski cut CCTV wiring at Tops Barbers in Lincoln Road, Millfield, Peterborough, in the early hours of 27 October 2024, before attempting to break into the shop. He then moved to Golden Takeaway, where he tried to force the door open and tilted security cameras to obscure the view. Five days later, on 1 November 2024, he returned to both businesses and again attempted to force entry but failed.
Found guilty of four counts of attempted burglary with intent to steal. Was on remand since arrest. PC Jack Jenkins noted that he tried to cover up his actions but was captured on camera.

Gelen provided a positive roadside drugs wipe for cannabis, and investigations showed that driving within the speed limit would have allowed him to avoid the collision.
Found guilty by a jury after a trial; had failed to repair a fault with his car's anti-lock braking system and was initially arrested for causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving, though he was under the drug-drive limit.

Ben Doughty, 31, of Pinfold Lane, Godmanchester, launched multiple violent attacks on his girlfriend in August 2024. Incidents included grabbing her mobile phone and smashing it into her head, dragging her around her flat while hitting her legs, pinning her to the bed with one hand around her neck causing breathing difficulties, and hitting her in the face causing a broken nose. Arguments often started when Doughty saw something on her phone he disliked. The victim suffered injuries to her arms, shoulder, nose, and leg, and had stopped seeing friends due to his controlling behaviour.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of actual bodily harm and one count of common assault. Pleaded not guilty to intentional strangulation, which will lie on file. A 10-year restraining order was imposed, forbidding contact with the victim.

Nigel James, 62, of St Marys Square, Newmarket, verbally abused his former partner and made constant jibes about her weight and clothes, resulting in the end of their two-year relationship in November 2024. After moving out of their home in Harston, near Cambridge, James began bombarding the woman with vile messages and emails. He told her he was 'gunning for her' and would 'ruin her life'. He wrote that she wasn’t safe and warned, 'I have got enough weapons and tools to deal with you'. He also said she was 'gonna feel pain'. In February 2025, James sent her multiple voice messages and said 'if she wanted war, she would have war', as well as other insults. The harassment continued into March 2025, with James threatening to 'bury her'. In May 2025, the woman contacted Cambridgeshire Police and shared the abuse, describing how James had made her life 'a living hell'. Officers arrested James and he initially denied the allegations in a police interview, until officers played back voice notes to him.
Pleaded guilty to stalking involving fear of violence. Also handed a restraining order.

Darren Wheeler broke into Underwood The Jewellers in Darling Mews, Peterborough, in the early hours of 29 February, using furniture to smash cabinets and steal more than £4,000 worth of jewellery including watches and earrings. In a separate incident on 27 June, he pushed a neighbour down stairs, hit him with a child’s bike and a wooden stick, causing a broken nose, a lump to the head, and concussion during a fight in St Thomas Close, Eastfield, Peterborough.

Officers searched him and found 17 wraps of suspected class A drugs, with a further nine wraps discovered upon arrest. Tests confirmed the wraps contained cocaine and heroin worth up to £260.

On November 4, 2023, Abdulkadir Abdulkadir, as part of a group, robbed three teenagers aged 13, 14, and 15 near Queensgate Shopping Centre in Peterborough, forcing them to hand over a Trapstar coat worth £250, a Trapstar bag, and Hoodrich gloves. He was identified from CCTV footage, arrested on November 11, 2023, while wearing the stolen coat, and later caught on December 14, 2023, dealing drugs in an alleyway, where he discarded a package containing cocaine and heroin worth £70. A search of his home revealed additional drugs, cash, weighing scales, and debt sheets, and he was in breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order imposed by Uxbridge Magistrates' Court.
Pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine, breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order, two counts of robbery, handling stolen goods, receiving stolen goods, and possession of amphetamine.

Dominic Johnson, 47, of England Way, New Malden, Greater London, was driving a Vauxhall Movano van on the A141 towards March at 5am on June 29, 2023, when he fell asleep at the wheel, drifted into the opposite carriageway, collided with a Suzuki Vitara driven by a 56-year-old man from Lincolnshire, and ended up in a field 100 feet away. The victim suffered life-threatening head injuries, traumatic brain injury, numerous fractures, and now requires care, walks with a frame, and cannot work. Forensic evidence showed Johnson steering 50 degrees to the right at 50mph without braking.
Stood trial and was found guilty by jurors. Continued to deny the charge and blamed the other driver. Had only four hours of sleep prior to the crash.
Fabio Marzano

Fabio Marzano assaulted a woman at her home in the Eastfield area of Peterborough on February 7, 2023, by punching her in the face and strangling her until she could not breathe. A neighbour intervened, leading Marzano to attack him, then another man, whom he headbutted multiple times, dragged to the floor, and bit on the ear while threatening to bite it off. He also kicked police officers during his arrest at the scene and later at Thorpe Wood Police Station. On March 6, 2024, while on court bail, he visited another woman's property in Westwood, Peterborough, refused to leave, and assaulted her by repeatedly headbutting her, causing her to fall and sustain a large swelling to her eye socket, a cut to her chin and the back of her head, and significant bruising.
Admitted to intentional strangulation, three counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, and two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker. DC Igor Simonov described him as a persistently violent individual who thinks nothing of launching savage attacks on innocent people.

He was arrested on 1 May 2024 after police found drugs worth up to £15,000, including cannabis, MDMA, LSD, and ketamine, at a house in Fletton, Peterborough, following the sudden death of a 19-year-old woman at the property. Additionally, in June 2023, he was involved in an incident where he was drunk and disorderly in Peterborough city centre, possessed a knuckleduster (an illegal weapon), and was racially abusive towards a Special constable.
Pled guilty to eight offences dating back to April 2021, including drug dealing and a racially aggravated public order offence.

Murtaza Syed coercively controlled his wife for two years, subjecting her to mental and physical abuse. This included enforcing rules to humiliate and degrade her, such as not allowing her to shut the bathroom door, examining her body for signs of adultery, depriving her of a phone or electronic devices, and preventing her from leaving the house unaccompanied. The most recent assault occurred on February 18, when he threw a lighter at her eye and punched her repeatedly to the head. The abuse was reported to police on February 23.
Pled guilty to coercive and controlling behaviour and one count of causing actual bodily harm. A restraining order was made indefinitely to prevent contact with the victim.
