Northampton Magistrates' Court Sentencing Results

Raheem Bourne, 30, from Edith Street, Northampton, went on a furious two-day wrecking spree on December 9 and 10, smashing windows of nine local businesses across Northampton town centre including Abington Street, Mercer’s Row, Wellingborough Road, Bridge Street, the Drapery, and St Leonards Road (Hollywood Nails, Match Box Café, Ji’s Chicken Shop, Mr Liu Kitchen, UK Nails and Pretty Nails, Shanghai House, Ginza Oriental Market), causing thousands in damages and a £12,000 compensation bill. The attacks were racially and religiously aggravated hate crimes.

Victoria Shaw, 52, repeatedly contacted a male victim by phone and via Facebook messages in February 2025 despite being subject to non-molestation orders made in 2024. She failed to engage with court-ordered remediation and was sentenced after repeated breaches of the orders.

Craig Anthony Trott, of Knole Road, Bournemouth, used a hammer to smash windows at LSB Electrical in Station Road, New Milton, in the early hours of Sunday, January 28, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage. He was sentenced after admitting the offence.

Craig Johnson failed to provide a specimen of blood. He was given a community order with a 120-day alcohol abstinence requirement and disqualified from driving.

Campbell Deegan was in possession of cocaine and was conditionally discharged for 12 months.

Jonathon Grove was convicted of drink driving. He was ordered to complete unpaid work and disqualified from driving.

Scott Russell was convicted of drink driving. He was ordered to complete unpaid work and disqualified from driving.

Stephen Friday committed harassment by breaching a restraining order. He was ordered to carry out unpaid work.

Teresa Skelton carried out a four-year campaign of sustained harassment against Hampshire's police and crime commissioner between 2021 and 2024. She repeatedly confronted and filmed the victim at public engagements, called for a chief constable to be sacked during a meeting in 2022, confronted the victim during a church service in 2023, and disrupted a public meeting in April 2024 by approaching the victim with papers and making loud accusations before police intervened. The victim reported anxiety and a heightened need for security, and the court found the behaviour went beyond robust criticism.

Over approximately six months between May and November 2024, Shane Mason repeatedly phoned and emailed the victim and turned up at her home. The court found the offence was domestic in nature and had a significant impact on the victim.

Lee Woollon contacted the victim between 16th January and 6th May, sending unwanted messages and leaving notes, which caused harassment and breached a non-molestation order. Magistrates ruled the offences were so serious that only a custodial sentence was justified and imposed an eight-month prison term suspended for two years, along with a five-year restraining order, rehabilitation activity sessions, 100 hours unpaid work, and £272 in court charges.

Leslie Winspear, an 84-year-old rogue landlord in Corby, was found guilty of failing to comply with an Improvement Notice by renting out a property whilst in a state of disrepair. This is the second property that Winspear has been prosecuted for renting out in poor and dangerous conditions.

Dean Patrick Wilson was driving a Volvo articulated lorry westbound on the A14 between Junction 11 and 10 on September 15 last year. He intended to stop at a layby and briefly stopped, then continued when he realised there was no room. A second lorry slowed and stopped behind him, but a third lorry was unable to stop, hitting the lorry in front and shunting it into the Volvo. The diesel tank was pierced in the collision and the entire contents emptied over both lanes, forcing the road to be closed for 21 hours and resurfaced. Dozens of vehicles were trapped and had to be turned around.

Ashley Joseph Brown, of Dinham Road, New Milton, entered the Tesco store on Caird Avenue shortly before 10pm on September 14 and stole a fleece and jogging bottoms valued at £67.50 by putting them on over his clothing and leaving without paying. The following morning at 7.30am he returned and stole four boxes of Lego valued at £195.

Brian Glendinning targeted a woman in Southampton between 18 October 2025 and 6 March 2026, causing her harassment. He was convicted of stalking and banned from contacting her directly or indirectly and from entering a street in Fawley.
