On May 7, 2025, Konrad Jones, aged 29 from Brynglas in Hollybush, Cwmbran, assaulted his then-girlfriend by grabbing her throat, hair, arm and shoulder while drunk, accusing her of cheating, with her daughter in the next room. He stole her phone and keys, took her black Ford Focus without consent, drove to Pontypool and attempted to run over his former boss by driving at speed towards him and then reversing at speed, though the boss was uninjured. Fleeing police, he damaged the car beyond repair. Upon arrest, he assaulted officers, injuring PC Williams, failed a breath test and refused a blood sample. In a separate July 2023 incident, he and Tristan Chapman beat a defenceless man with a metal baseball bat.
Pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle-taking without consent, dangerous driving while disqualified, refusing to provide a sample, assaulting a police officer, common assault and theft. Has 59 previous offences. Also sentenced for separate grievous bodily harm incident. Restraining order for 5 years against ex-girlfriend.
Michael Dumbuya

Michael Dumbuya, 37, of York Street, London, travelled from London with two associates to a house in Blackwood on May 20, 2025, where they carried out a terrifying assault on Cody Hudd in a case of mistaken identity. Dumbuya, employed as a professional enforcer by a wholesale drug dealer based in Colombia, mistakenly believed Hudd was responsible for the loss of 6kg of cocaine. Hudd was woken at around 1.15am, grappled by the face and throat, slapped, punched multiple times, dragged downstairs, beaten with an object causing collapse, kicked repeatedly to face, chest and body, had his breathing restricted by Dumbuya's foot on his chest, and a knife pressed to his jawline. The assault was filmed by Dumbuya. After the attack, Dumbuya fled in an Audi Q3 with false plates, leading police on a high-speed chase reaching 150mph on the M4 before crashing. A loaded sawn-off shotgun, imitation Glock 17 air pistol, balaclavas, gloves, and a black holdall were found in the vehicle. Blood on Dumbuya's coat matched Hudd's DNA, and shotgun ammunition matched Dumbuya's DNA. Hudd suffered jaw misalignment, inability to eat, nostril soreness, and split lip, with profound psychological and financial impacts.
Pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, assault occasioning ABH, and dangerous driving. One prior conviction for fraud by abuse of position. Gambling addiction and debts mentioned in mitigation. No evidence shotgun was taken into property or firearms used to threaten victim.

On October 13, 2025, at 8.30am near Nature's Hand disability services centre in Alma Street, Brynmawr, Blaenau Gwent, Rhys Phillips, 22, stood in the street with his trousers around his ankles, exposed his genitals, and shouted 'I'm a paedophile. I like children and I'm going to rape children.' This was witnessed by occupants of passing cars and buses. He was arrested at the scene. Previously, on August 6, 2025, at the same centre, he assaulted support workers Grant West by pushing him in the chest and pressing his forehead into his head, Jason Thomas by lunging and pressing his forehead into his head, and Jodie Lamkin by spitting in her face.
Pleaded guilty to exposure, a public order offence, and three counts of assault. Has 19 previous convictions including for violence, offensive weapons and dishonesty. Was under a community order for a racially aggravated assault at the time. Mental health issues including ADHD and learning difficulties; attention-seeking behaviour, no sexual interest in children per psychiatrist.
Thomas Griffiths

Thomas Griffiths, 34, of Riverside Close, Ynyshir, Porth, punched his friend Christian Dean, 36, a handyman, in the kitchen of Mr Dean's home in Graig Road, Ynyshir, Porth, on June 26, 2025, after drinking at pubs and consuming cocaine together. The punch caused a lateral subarachnoid haemorrhage due to backwards and sideways movement of the head on the neck, leading to Mr Dean bleeding to death on the kitchen floor. Griffiths fled the scene, called a friend admitting he had hit Mr Dean, and was heard saying 'I have just killed someone'. He did not seek help and went home. Police found Mr Dean dead with a pool of blood, empty alcohol cans, and cocaine residue present. Griffiths had blood on his hands and was arrested later that day.
Pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Of previous good character but has cautions for battery and a public order offence. Former boxer. No recollection of the incident, described as regretful and remorseful. Will serve two thirds in custody before release on licence.
Marcus Creedy

On August 13, 2025, Marcus Creedy, 18, of River View, Gabalfa, was stopped by police near the Gabalfa flyover in Cardiff while wearing a balaclava and engaging with occupants of two parked cars, suspected of a drug deal. He fled on a bike, discarding a Nokia phone, but was detained and searched. Found in possession of 30 grip seal bags of cocaine, nine grip seal bags of cannabis, a Nokia phone, an iPhone, and £110 cash. Home search yielded 3.5g cannabis and a grinder. Phones contained messages relating to cocaine supply.
Pleaded guilty. No previous convictions. Remorseful, acted to assist family. Lives with aunty, lost father at 13, recent deaths of grandparents, difficult school time, no qualifications, started cannabis at 14, suffered brain bleed and leg injury in 2024 scooter accident.
Liam Key

Liam Key, 23, of Heol y Mynydd, Hendreforgan, Gilfach Goch, was discovered by police on September 24, 2024, during the arrest of another man at a property. He had sent a text saying 'I'm out by the gate' and was waiting in his silver Volkswagen Golf. When approached, he appeared nervous and shaking, giving conflicting accounts. A search revealed 1.04g of cocaine in a cling film bag and a black iPhone showing he arranged supplies of cocaine and cannabis to at least 17 customers between August and September 2024, with deals up to £380 and payments on tick, including debts of £510 and £650. Further seizure included 23.9g of cocaine, over £4,500 in cash, weighing scales, and cling film bags.
Pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis, and possession with intent to supply cocaine. Has two previous convictions, including possession with intent to supply cannabis for which he received a suspended prison sentence. In mitigation, noted to be in full-time employment which he will lose, and from a supportive family.
Christopher Hale

On April 20, 2023, Christopher Hale, who had been drinking with his sister Denise Hale and her partner Andrew Tolley, returned to the couple's home in Newport. After Tolley went to bed, Hale played loud music. Tolley came downstairs to ask for the music to be turned down, leading to an argument. Hale punched Tolley, who retaliated, prompting Hale to grab a screwdriver and stab Tolley multiple times, causing puncture wounds to his stomach, shoulder, and forearm. Tolley experienced pain and discomfort for days but did not seek immediate medical attention. The assault was not reported right away, and the relationship between Tolley and Hale's sister broke down after Hale sent offensive messages.
Ordered to carry out a 10 day rehabilitation activity requirement and 12 sessions of a mental health treatment requirement. Found guilty following a trial. He was found inside with a woman, and a red iPhone was seized, which he claimed ownership of and provided the PIN for. Messages on the phone revealed his involvement in the supply of cocaine, including two occasions of supplying 'high quality cocaine'. A further search at his home in Butetown uncovered three bullets in a small blue plastic bag among clothes, identified as suitable for self-loading pistols or sub machine-guns. During interview, he stated he had learning difficulties and people took advantage of him.
Pleaded guilty. No previous convictions for drug trafficking or weapons, but last conviction for possession of cannabis. To serve 40% in custody, remainder on licence. Judge Catherine Richards presiding.

He sent images of himself in underwear and workman's trousers showing his groin, asked sexual questions including about masturbation, virginity, and naughty fun, and attempted a video call. Upon arrest, he claimed his phone had been hacked and expressed regret to his children. He breached an existing Sexual Harm Prevention Order from 2015.
Pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and breaching a SHPO. Previously jailed for 15 months in 2015 for inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and possessing indecent images. Described as thoroughly ashamed, hard working and caring man who set up his own maintenance company.

Police followed him to his address where a quantity of cocaine and drug paraphernalia were found in the kitchen and bathroom, along with cash. He handed himself in on February 7. The total cocaine seized across locations weighed 1.8kg with a street value between £75,660 and £100,888. He benefited £114,401 from offending but had assets worth £11,516.

Nicole Locke, 32, of Pergwm Street, Trealaw, was arrested on February 6, 2025, at Priddle's address in George Street, Penygraig, Tonypandy, after police followed him there. She claimed she had nothing to do with the drugs but her iPhone revealed Snapchat messages related to drug supply. In her handbag were electric scales and white powder. Keys from her led to a nearby Mercedes containing 1kg of cocaine worth £30,000, 0.5kg worth £15,000, seven rocks of 28g worth £1,000 to £1,500 each, and £4,154 cash. The total cocaine seized weighed 1.8kg with a street value between £75,660 and £100,888.
Pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. Ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £228.
David Samuel

David Samuel, 39, of Caldicot, began speaking with an account purporting to be a 14-year-old boy named Jaydan on the Chat Avenue platform in 2023. The conversation moved to WhatsApp and when the decoy confirmed he was 14, Samuel sent a photo of his erect penis. He asked the decoy for photos, told him he was 'horny', asked if he wanted to see him masturbate on a video call, and suggested trading nudes. Police arrested him on August 7, 2023, and seized his phone, which contained 11 category A, five category B, and 26 category C indecent images of children aged one to 15 being sexually abused, plus evidence of distributing a category A image and possessing a prohibited animated image of child abuse.
Pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, three counts of making indecent images, possessing a prohibited image and distributing an indecent image. One previous conviction for motoring offences. Judge noted realistic prospect of rehabilitation.

On September 9, 2023, at Fagins bar and restaurant in Church Village, Pontypridd, Georgia Hemburrow, 25, of Carmarthen Drive, Tonteg, approached victim Celyn Williams who was sitting at a table. Hemburrow was verbally aggressive and argumentative. After a bangle fell off her wrist and Williams bent to pick it up, Hemburrow threw the contents of a thick whisky tumbler over Williams, then threw the glass which hit Williams in the forehead with force, causing severe bleeding and a permanent scar requiring stitches. Hemburrow left the scene without concern for the victim.
Pleaded guilty to wounding and inflicting grievous bodily harm. Of previous good character. Judge Paul Hobson noted she lost her temper for no good reason and left a permanent scar.
Huw Young

Huw Young, 57, of Erw Ifan, strangled his partner multiple times in fits of jealousy over messages from male friends, including incidents in 2024 at his home in Bridgend where he threw and smashed her phone, and on May 16-17, 2025, at his home in Pencoed where he slapped her, strangled her until she choked, threw her to the floor, and punched her multiple times to the back of the head, causing swelling. He threatened her against calling the police. The victim reported lowered confidence and trust issues.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of intentional strangulation, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and criminal damage. Has previous conviction for domestic assault. Subject to a restraining order. Relationship described as toxic; alcohol issues addressed through counselling while in custody.
Rebecca Morgan

This occurred as Mr Smart tried to enter the property to collect his children, with friends witnessing the pursuit and fearing for their safety.

Kai Lewis, of Tweedsmuir Road in Tremorfa, Cardiff, carried out multiple sexual assaults on two victims when he was in his mid to late teens (under 18). The first victim was of primary school age when the abuse began, involving a number of sexual assaults that left her with flashbacks, suicidal thoughts, and inability to form healthy relationships. The second victim was also of primary school age during the abuse, which caused her to feel disgusting, vulnerable, scared of men, and struggle with mental health, requiring antidepressants. The victims did not realize the acts were wrong until later, through sex education and a sleepover. They contacted police separately, leading to Lewis's arrest and conviction.

Jamal Hourrieh

Jamal Hourrieh, 24, of Penhevad Street, Grangetown, Cardiff, was involved in supplying heroin and cocaine. A drugs warrant was executed at his home on September 10, 2025, leading to his arrest. Messages on his seized mobile phone showed he sent 70 to 200 messages per day to customers, using the alias 'Kik', describing himself as 'active', and offering to 'get looked after'. He referred to his customers as 'Gs' and had a large customer base. Hourrieh refused to provide the PIN but police accessed the phone. He remained silent during interview but later pleaded guilty.

In September, he travelled by train from London Paddington to Cardiff to collect £16,000 from an 80-year-old man and attempted to collect from a 78-year-old man who became suspicious and did not hand over the money. He snatched the package from the first victim as instructed by his hostile employers, delivered it to an address near Kings Cross in London, and admitted to similar pickups 5-10 times in other locations like Oxford, Peterborough, and Portsmouth. He was arrested at Cardiff Central railway station in possession of two iPhones and £104 cash, claiming he was paid but unaware of contents.
Pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess criminal property. Of previous good character. Remorseful towards victims and family. Judge noted realistic prospect of rehabilitation.
Gavin Davies

On August 14, 2025, Gavin Davies, a 38-year-old TikToker with over 31,000 followers under the name Ruthless Roofers, entered a corner shop in Merthyr Tydfil topless and in a rage. He pulled down boxes and goods, shouted 'I want to go back to prison', and threw items to the floor. When challenged by the victim, who was in the shop with his stepdaughter, Davies charged at him, punching him several times to the face and head, and biting him on the nose. The assault continued on the floor, causing further damage to shop items. The victim suffered injuries including ongoing pain in his wrist and thumb, and described his world as 'turned upside-down', fearing for his life.
Pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray, and criminal damage. Made subject to a restraining order for five years. Judge Paul Hobson described the behaviour as 'utterly disgraceful' and like a 'wild animal'. Released from prison earlier that day, had been drinking, and was in a bad mood after being assaulted by another person.

James Liddle, 23, of Ringwood Hill, Newport, drove to his ex partner's home in Newport at 2.17am after sending abusive messages about access to his daughter. He arrived in a Volkswagen Golf, pulled her by the hair into the car, and drove off at excessive speeds while angry, erratic, and inhaling gas from a balloon. He hit pedestrian Leon Manley who was crossing Somerton Road, causing a loud bang and smashing the windscreen, but continued driving. When the victim refused to give him a lift, Axton became aggressive, swinging his arms and punching the victim to the left side of his face, causing him to stumble. During the struggle, Axton took possession of the £800 electric bike and cycled away. The bike was never recovered. The victim reported being unable to switch off from the incident, experiencing anxiety, flashbacks, lack of confidence, and inability to purchase a new bike.
Pleaded guilty to robbery. Has 39 previous convictions for offences including theft, burglaries, taking a vehicle without consent, possessing drugs, fraud by false representation, battery, and criminal damage. He left 278 abusive voice messages on her phone over four months, despite her changing her number multiple times, including threats like 'I'll watch your little world crumble' and insults such as 'simple fat c***' and 'f****** fat slob'. On March 25, 2025, he turned up while she was with a friend, attempted to open the car door, and later sent photos of himself holding a knife and knuckledusters captioned 'Can't wait to meet them', referring to her potential new partner. He followed her to Merthyr Tydfil, questioned her about being in another man's house, turned up at her home and in a shop, leaving her terrified. Police arrested him nearby after a call to her home, finding knives and knuckledusters at his residence and a flick knife in his car.

The posts included images glorifying Nazi gas chambers, depicting black people as monkeys, antisemitic caricatures such as a hazmat-suited figure with a Nazi armband spraying gas towards a Jewish man, banknotes moving towards an oven captioned 'Only antisemites understand this photo', a man urinating on a menorah, a train track heading into a gas chamber, a monopoly board implying all black people should be in prison, and Holocaust victim Anne Frank saying 'Gas me outside'. He advanced conspiracy theories blaming Jews for global economic instability and the 9/11 attacks, and black people for rising crime rates, claiming white people are being eradicated. Morgan had 127,800 followers on his main account and may have monetised his posts. He was reported to police by Jewish users Caroline Ost and Adam Morris after X failed to remove the content despite complaints.

Brown, a recovering drug addict who had relapsed, had contacted a drug dealer to buy ketamine, met him in his car, and took possession of the bag after he was involved in a car accident. She was unaware of the full contents initially and transported it home by bus and taxi. Messages on her seized iPhones discussed the bag with her boyfriend, who gave no comment in a voluntary interview but faced no charges.

On July 8, 2025, Richardson was stopped in Newport city centre and found in possession of £90 cash, five wraps of cannabis, and a Nokia burner phone used for advertising cannabis sales via text bombs.

On Friday, June 20, 2025, plain clothed officers from South Wales Police spotted Rio Dinnall, a 20-year-old drug dealer from Newport, acting suspiciously in Clos Y Rheil Ffordd, Barry. He led officers on a foot chase through a residential housing estate, armed with a crutch, and was captured on body-worn camera and CCTV discarding small wraps of crack cocaine over a garden fence. He was detained and handcuffed, and the drugs, worth £6,000, were recovered from a front garden.
Charged with possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply. Detective Inspector Tim Jones commented on the police's commitment to tackling drug dealers.
Llion Evans

In July 2023, Llion Evans, using the online name 'Jimbo Jones', engaged in sexualised chats on the Kik app with a profile he believed was a 12-year-old schoolgirl from Newport, unaware it was an undercover police decoy. Conversations included discussions of 'naughty massages', 'messy massages', and wanting to shower with the child, though some exchanges were non-sexual. In October 2023, police raided his home in Elm Grove Road, Dinas Powys, Vale of Glamorgan, seizing devices. Analysis revealed over 350 indecent images of children (75 Category A, including abuse of a baby), prohibited images, extreme pornography, and evidence he shared images, including a Category A image, in a Kik group. He was arrested twice and released on bail during forensic examination.
Pleaded guilty. No previous convictions. Judge Vanessa Francis described behaviour as 'utterly reprehensible'. Registered as sex offender for 10 years. Subject to sexual harm prevention order for 10 years. Marriage broken down since arrest; voluntarily working with charities; being assessed for autism.

The ordeal was interrupted when the victim's father woke up to the noise and bravely fought off the attacker. Alrabie was identified and arrested by South Wales Police within 24 hours.

William Fellowes, 34, of Pentregethin Road, Portmead, Swansea, was observed selling drugs to known users in Swansea on August 4, 2025, while riding an electric scooter and was stopped near Cwmbwrla roundabout. Messages on his phone showed he was advertising cocaine for sale. Police searched his home, finding a silver hold-all containing a 382g block of cocaine worth £11,600, £9,540 in cash, tick lists, 18 snap bags containing 24.9g of cocaine worth £1,440, scales, and a further 13 snap bags of 193g of cocaine worth £6,300, along with drug paraphernalia. He was also in possession of £150 at the time of stop.
Pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of criminal property, and being concerned in supply of cocaine. Has 31 previous convictions, including possession with intent to supply cannabis and shining a laser beam at an aircraft. Diagnosed with ADHD, has two children.

Katie Clark, 32, of Croft Street, Waun Wen, Swansea, was involved in a joint drugs enterprise with William Fellowes. She was arrested at Morriston Hospital on August 4, 2025, after police searched her home and discovered scales with cocaine residue, £810 in cash, an A4 pad containing tick lists, and three bags of heroin weighing 41.2g. Messages on Fellowes' phone revealed communications between him and Clark relating to their joint enterprise. The total value of drugs seized in the operation was £29,500.
Pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin, possession of criminal property, and being concerned in the supply of cocaine. Of previous good character. Gave birth while on remand in custody. Barrister stated her partner Daryl Price was the driving force of the enterprise and had fled to Vietnam or Thailand.
Austin Hockey

Austin Hockey, 32, of Acrebush Close, Bristol, was stopped by police on December 1, 2023, on a roundabout just outside Narberth in Pembrokeshire. A search of his vehicle and backpack revealed two bags of cannabis female flowering head weighing 81g and 29g, 80 small tablets of MDMA, and 2C-B tablets. Phones seized contained messages advertising MDMA and different strains of cannabis in 'text bombs'. The MDMA tablets were worth between £328 and £1,040, cannabis valued at £1,370, and 2C-B tablets at £840. He received £171,000 into his bank account during the offending period. When confronted by officers about the cannabis, he said 'I smoke that in a day.'
Pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A and B drugs, possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs. No previous convictions. Gained qualifications while in prison and supported other prisoners. Driven by financial gain as a street dealer, difficult childhood with adverse experiences leading to early substance use and homelessness.
Ashley Morris

Ashley Morris, 39, launched an unprovoked brutal attack on his 78-year-old neighbour Lyndon Griffiths outside their homes in Brackla, Bridgend. After Griffiths parked his car following a shop visit, Morris approached him, told him to 'smile now', punched him to the floor, pinned him down, rained punches on his head and face, and kicked him repeatedly while he was down. Griffiths was left unconscious, covered in blood, and suffered appalling bruising, swelling, and three seizures in hospital. Morris then returned to his flat as if nothing happened.
Admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent. No remorse shown. Described as a dangerous individual by police.

Craig Dowding, 34, of Greene Close, Newport, committed two horrific assaults on his friend and neighbour Robert Eddington. On May 14, 2025, while socialising at Mr Eddington's home in Newport, Dowding lost his temper over the victim using his crack pipe. He punched Mr Eddington dozens of times, stabbed a butane gas canister with a knife, squirted it at the victim's lap, and set fire to his hands and face with a lighter, causing full thickness burns to 6.5% of his body including the right side of his forehead, right eye socket, right side of his mouth and cheek, nose, upper chest wall, and blisters on his left wrist, thumbs and fingers. The victim was treated at Grange University Hospital but discharged himself against medical advice. On June 9, 2025, at a mutual friend's home while watching a Wales football match, Dowding, after drinking, became abusive, threw a knife from a knife block at Mr Eddington, then hit him over the head with a large knife, causing a 15cm wound to the left side of his head, bruises to his left cheek, a broken nose, a fractured jaw, and loss of 1000ml of blood.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of wounding with intent and arson. Found to be a dangerous offender. Previous convictions for violence, racially aggravated assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and robbery. Suffered with mental health issues.
Demba Sey

On August 11, 2025, Demba Sey, 21, was a passenger in a Volkswagen Polo in Grangetown, Cardiff, when approached by police. He and the unidentified driver attempted to flee from Virgil Court, during which Sey threw an iPhone into bushes. Police detained him and found a hunting knife in his waistband, seven wraps of crack cocaine (1.71g), 13 wraps of heroin (3.71g), and £120 in his pocket. He became homeless at 19 after being kicked out by his mother for partying and messing around, leading to sofa surfing, sleeping on benches, and reliance on food banks.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and possession of a bladed article. Of previous good character. Did not play a major role in the drugs operation and was only allowed to keep £20 a day. Offending driven by hunger and not by greed, due to poverty, homelessness, and reliance on food banks.

On June 3, 2025, at approximately 10.30pm, Blake Williams, 19, of Clarence Place, Newport, entered a Tesco Express store on Caerleon Road, Newport, picked up a basket, and selected confectionery and soft drinks worth £27. As he attempted to leave without paying, shop worker Darshan Deorukhar confronted him, knocking the basket to the floor. Williams then brandished a screwdriver, lunged at staff, jabbed Mr Deorukhar in the chest causing a bruise, shoved him, and threatened 'Don't try and stop me, watch me.' He also brandished a knife before fleeing. Mr Deorukhar reported feeling nervous, anxious, and fearful of retaliation.
Pleaded guilty to robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a bladed article. Has four previous convictions for offences including robbery, aggravated vehicle taking and theft. Raised in a chaotic environment, victim of physical violence from father, diagnosed with Crohn's disease, lacking maturity.
