He was arrested on 21 April 2024 in Essex while in possession of a stolen Mini Cooper.

Napier, of Rectory Close, Great Paxton, walked away from the scene with his girlfriend and friend, was arrested six months later at Gatwick Airport, and initially denied being at the scene before changing his plea.
Pleaded guilty in August. Judge commented that the defendant was lucky not to face manslaughter charges, showed no remorse by initially denying involvement, and highlighted the commonality of drunken violence.

On December 11, 2021, Ashley Howse stabbed his mother, Julia Howse, aged 61, causing her death, and attempted to murder his father during a disturbance at a property on Austins Mead in Bovingdon. Police and paramedics found Julia unconscious and seriously injured, and despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit followed, leading to his charges and guilty plea.
Pleaded guilty to manslaughter through diminished responsibility and attempted murder following a psychiatric assessment.

Matthew Fox, 33, raped an unconscious woman near a Peterborough city centre car park in the early hours of 22 July 2022. The pair, who were not known to each other, met while drinking in a nearby bar and left together. CCTV operators monitored them and alerted police due to concerns for the woman's welfare, believing her to be highly intoxicated. Traffic officers found Fox climbing off the unresponsive victim at the top of a ramp to a car park in Cattle Market Road. An ambulance took the woman to hospital where she regained consciousness several hours later. Fox was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and denied the rape charge, but was found guilty after a trial earlier in the year. Additionally, after his charge and remand in prison, Fox contacted his cousin Alfie Smith, sister Jamie-Lee Fox, and mother Alison Quinn-Gajdur to intimidate the victim into changing her statement to police.

On 10 July, Isuf Qaushi was driving a silver Ford Focus in Ditton Fields, Cambridgeshire, when police pulled him over suspecting no insurance. Officers searched the vehicle and found eight bags of cocaine stashed in a chewing gum tab. Despite refusing to provide a home address, his mobile phone revealed taxi orders to a house in Kaldor Court, Cambridge. A search of his bedroom uncovered a sock containing 34 further bags of cocaine, cash, and a mobile phone with messages linking him to drug dealing.
Pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of criminal property, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and no insurance.

On 3 August 2023, Luke Elmer, 19, of Camborne Drive, Hemel Hempstead, riding a moped along Mill Road in Cambridge with an unidentified accomplice, approached a male cyclist in his 30s on a bridge. After overtaking and gesturing offensively, they parked nearby, grabbed the victim's t-shirt to stop him, punched him twice in the face, and rode off. Moments later, they cut him off again, punched him once more, demanded his wallet under threat of stabbing, and took it. They then used the victim's bank card at a nearby shop for transactions totalling £108.20. The victim suffered swelling, bruising, cuts to his face, and a suspected broken nose. Elmer was identified from CCTV and arrested.
Admitted robbery, assault causing actual bodily harm, fraud by false representation and failing to surrender to bail.
Samuel Robinson
Engaging in sexual communication with a child *

Samuel Robinson, a 27-year-old former primary school teacher and scout leader from Butt Lane, Milton, engaged in sexual conversations with a decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl via social media chat platforms between 7 April and 11 April 2023. The decoy repeatedly stated their age, but Robinson continued the inappropriate discussion. He was arrested on 11 April 2023 after the activist group visited his home. Examination of his devices revealed prior sexual communications with a real 15-year-old girl between May 2021 and June 2022, during which he offered to send inappropriate pictures.
Pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual communication with a child, attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause a girl to engage in sexual activity. DC Caroline Murphy noted the offences had no connection with Robinson’s teaching or his role as a scout leader, and described his actions as appalling.

Sophie Eason Edge, 28, of Calvin Close, Cottenham, South Cambridgeshire, was arrested alongside Karl Robinson in February 2023 after examination of his devices uncovered a video of her abusing a child. The couple sexually abused a child, leading to their sentencing.
Pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a child under 13 and making indecent images of children. Will serve six years on extended licence and was given a 20-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Vivien Saunders

On August 3, 2022, Vivien Saunders drove her Mercedes 4x4 in Abbotsley Country Homes, a gated community near St Neots, and edged her vehicle towards residents. She deliberately made contact with Jill Beresford-Ambridge, who was on crutches after a hip operation, pushing her backwards while shouting commands. This incident occurred amid ongoing disputes with residents involving High Court proceedings.
Saunders represented herself, pleaded not guilty, and insisted her vehicle did not make contact. Recorder Nash delivered the verdict and considered but denied a restraining order.
Karl Robinson
Making indecent images of children and sexual assault of a child under 13 *

Karl Robinson, 29, of Calvin Close, Cottenham, South Cambridgeshire, came to the attention of police in September 2022 after being arrested for making indecent images of children following a tip-off to the National Crime Agency about sharing indecent images online from authorities in New Zealand. Further examination of his devices uncovered a video of Sophie Eason Edge abusing a child. In total, Robinson was found to have 537 indecent images of children across his electronic devices. He was arrested again in February 2023.
Pleaded guilty to five counts of making indecent images of children and two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13. Will serve a further six years on extended licence and was given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 20 years.

On the evening of 14 December, following a dispute over dustbins between his father and a 69-year-old neighbour, Christy Burke, 38, confronted another neighbour, a 54-year-old man, leading to a tussle. When a friend of the neighbour intervened, Christy became angry, entered his father's home, and returned with a gas-powered BB pistol, which he pointed at the 41-year-old man to intimidate him, causing fear of violence. The incident occurred in Perry Road, Leverington, Wisbech.
Previously admitted being in possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. Both were highly intoxicated during the incident.

On 14 December, Dermot Burke, 69, had a dispute with a 69-year-old neighbour over dustbins in Perry Road, Leverington, Wisbech. Later, he confronted a 54-year-old neighbour with his son, leading to a tussle. After police arrived, Dermot, masked, approached the neighbour's door with a large knife to remove the video doorbell. He refused orders, became aggressive, threw planks of wood at officers, and appeared with a gas-powered BB pistol, resulting in a stun grenade being used for his arrest.
Previously admitted being in possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and being in possession of a knife in a public place. Both were highly intoxicated during the incident. Identified by distinct upper-arm tattoos despite masking his face.

Stavius Gordon, 31, was riding his KTM motorcycle along Ditton Lane in Cambridge, just before 6pm on 9 September 2022, when he collided with an Audi travelling in the opposite direction into Dunsmore Close. The crash caused a huge fireball as the motorcycle burst into flames, damaging the Audi and a nearby private ambulance. He initially denied riding the motorcycle but was charged based on dashcam footage and witness statements. Gordon lost a toe in the collision.

Leslie Gearing
Attempting to meet a child under 16 following grooming *

Leslie Gearing, 78, from McKenzie Road, Chatham, Kent, engaged in online grooming starting in December 2022, exchanging sexually explicit messages and photographs with a decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl. He travelled over 100 miles from Chatham to Central Park in Peterborough on 20 February to meet the decoy, where he was arrested. A search of his car revealed child-size underwear, sex toys, and camera equipment. Over 30,000 indecent images of children were found on devices at his home, along with further communications attempting to arrange sexual activity with children.
Pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent photographs of a child, three counts of attempted sexual communication with a child, two counts of causing a child aged 13 to 15 to watch or look at an image of sexual activity, two counts of distributing an indecent photograph of a child, one count of possession of an extreme pornographic image and one count of attempting to meet a child under 16 following grooming. Found guilty of a further count of attempting to meet a child under 16 following grooming, ordered to lie on file.
Luke Davidson
Causing death by driving whilst disqualified *

On 20 May at about 5.15pm, Luke Davidson, 20, of New Road, Mepal, filled up his black Chrysler 300 at the Esso filling station on the A1421 at Witcham Toll near Ely. He attempted to turn right out of the station, driving in front of motorcyclist Ian Parnell, 57, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Davidson got out of his car, looked at Mr Parnell on the ground, and fled. He was identified on CCTV, called police at about 6.30pm to admit responsibility, and was arrested nearby in Church Road, Wentworth.
Admitted causing death by driving whilst disqualified and causing death by driving a vehicle whilst unlicensed and uninsured. Also disqualified from driving for eight years. Prior convictions for drug driving (18-month disqualification in August previous year) and driving whilst disqualified (four-month ban in November).

On 24 June, members of the public called police reporting Michael Roberts was in Mill Road, Cambridge, armed with a metal pole. He struck one person with the pole and punched another person who attempted to intervene. He was arrested and taken into custody where he assaulted seven police officers by kicking, spitting and being verbally abusive towards them. He also racially abused another officer.
Pleaded guilty to seven counts of assaulting an emergency worker, racially aggravated assault and affray. Police described the actions as a 'violent rampage'. Detective Constable Matthew Lander commented on the out of control behaviour and highlighted the daily abuse faced by emergency services workers.

Luke McAllister of Crouch Gardens, Buntingford, was working on a separate building site on the A1198 on 10 November last year, when he trespassed on to the plot in Godmanchester, went into a drying room and took a wallet containing a bank card and a black charging unit. The 35-year-old then walked over to the nearby petrol station on Cardinal Way and attempted to purchase a packet of cigarettes, but the card was declined twice. Meanwhile, the victim received a notification on his mobile phone of the failed transactions and went to the garage to investigate. He got a description of McAllister and spotted him working on the building site so called police for assistance. McAllister ran away when police arrived, climbed a fence, and then attempted to hide in some brambles. He was found in possession of the charging unit and arrested.
Pleaded guilty to burglary, fraud by false representation and obstruct a constable.

On 12 May at about 11.35pm, Muhammed Rashid was a passenger in a beige Skoda Octavia pulled over by police in Castle Street, Cambridge, due to a strong smell of cannabis. He resisted arrest, attempted to conceal a mobile phone, kicked one officer in the stomach, and tried to push and headbutt the officers. Additional officers assisted in his arrest. Search revealed a large quantity of cash on him and two carrier bags containing cannabis in the vehicle.
Admitted possession with intent to supply cannabis, acquiring criminal property and two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker.

Found guilty by a jury at an earlier hearing of four counts of indecent assault on a boy under 14 and four counts of inciting a boy under 14 to commit an act of gross indecency. Detective Sergeant Mark Williamson commended the victim's bravery.

Ricky Green, 39, of no fixed abode, broke into Great St Mary’s Church in Cambridge overnight on 3 April by smashing a window. He stole £15 from a donation tin and jewellery worth £143 from the gift shop. His blood was found at the scene. Two weeks later, he was arrested on suspicion of burglary; a search revealed a knife, cannabis, a phone with drug supply messages, a sim card in his sock, and wraps of crack cocaine and heroin in his underpants.
Pleaded guilty to burglary, possession of a knife in a public place, possession of cannabis and possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin. Described as brazen with no respect for the place of worship.

Bhavesh Voralia, 50, of The Drive, Peterborough, attacked a victim in a block of flats in The Drive, Peterborough, at about 9am on 3 September 2021. He grabbed her breasts and smacked her, telling her he loved her, before the terrified victim ran back to her flat. Additionally, after being placed on the Sex Offenders Register following a conviction for another sexual assault on 13 June last year, he flew from Heathrow Airport to Ahmedabad in India three days later without notifying police of his name, date of birth, home address within three days, or providing seven days' advance notice of foreign travel.
Found guilty of sexual assault and two counts of failing to comply with Sex Offenders Register notification requirements. Previously convicted of another sexual assault at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on 13 June last year.

Being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine *

Carlos Djass, 29, controlled one of the largest drugs lines in Peterborough, using a mobile phone as the 'deal line' for a drugs operation. The phone contained thousands of bulk text messages offering crack cocaine sales to customers across Peterborough and surrounding areas. A video on his personal phone showed him holding a large rock of crack cocaine in his kitchen. He was arrested on 1 February after a warrant was executed at his home in London Road, Hempstead, Peterborough, where the deal line phone was found in his bed.
Previously admitted being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine. Controlled one of the largest drugs lines in Peterborough.
Amar Hussain
Supply of class A and B drugs *

Officers from the St Neots Neighbourhood Team carried out a warrant at the home of Amar Hussain in Howitts Gardens, Eynesbury, St Neots, in April 2020 after suspecting he was dealing drugs. As they attempted to enter the property, Hussain ran upstairs with a rucksack, locked himself into the bathroom and began throwing cash out of the window. A further warrant was carried out at a property he was linked to in Loves Way, St Neots in May where further drugs were found. Between the two homes and gardens officers recovered more than £15,000 in cash as well as cocaine, MDMA and cannabis with a street value of up to £41,000. They also seized clothing, bikes, and shoes worth up to £40,000.
Pleaded guilty to four counts of being concerned in the supply of drugs, three counts of possession with intent to supply drugs and acquiring criminal property.
Mark Turner
Burglary *

Mark Turner, 40, of Chesterton Road, broke into a home in Callander Close, Cambridge, at around 3am on 10 June, where three young children and a man were sleeping. He stole a 55” TV and two X-Box controllers. The occupant was woken a few hours later by his children asking where the TV had gone. Turner was spotted on nearby CCTV cameras, which showed him walking towards the address wearing gloves and leaving six minutes later carrying a television. He was identified by police by a tattoo on his arm seen on the CCTV.
Pleaded guilty to burglary and possession of class A drugs. Prolific criminal with 28 prior burglary convictions between 1998 and June this year.
Adheel Rehma
Possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin *

Adheel Rehma, 24, of Acocks Green, Birmingham, took over a vulnerable man's home in Ermine Street, Huntingdon, in a case of cuckooing, using it to package and deal drugs. Police found him inside the flat with heroin and crack cocaine worth almost £2,000 and more than £700 in cash. The occupant had barricaded himself to one side of the flat.
Pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin.

Christopher Scott, 47, of South Walk, Ramsey, walked into the Spar shop in Great Whyte on 6 June at approximately 8pm, approached a shop assistant in the sweet aisle, initially said 'I fancy something sweet', then demanded 'all the cash from the till' while pulling out a knife. The staff opened the till and emptied the cash, and he also demanded two bottles of Jack Daniels from behind the counter, wielding the knife towards them. He was captured on CCTV, identified, and arrested. The incident caused severe disruption to the shop's opening times as staff recovered.
Pleaded guilty to robbery and possessing a knife in a public place. Detective Constable James Lewis noted it was an incredibly frightening incident for the shop staff.

Police raided a house in Vere Road, Peterborough on 15 September 2022 and found more than 800 wraps of crack cocaine, cocaine and heroin stashed in a shoebox in a bin outside the property worth £12,390. Shamar Williams, 21, of St Mary’s Court, was one of three men arrested at the scene. Investigations revealed he had been dealing across the city between May and September 2022. Evidence from his movements and text messages on his phone proved he was running a criminal enterprise across Peterborough as part of county lines operations.
Pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, cocaine and heroin and being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, cocaine, and heroin.
Adam Giles
Attempting to cause or incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity *

Adam Giles, 47, of Havelock Drive, Peterborough, began contacting what he believed to be a 12-year-old girl on Snapchat in September 2020, sending sexual messages, suggesting meetings, and an indecent image of himself. In November 2020, police raided his home in Paston, Peterborough, seizing devices containing 12 indecent images or videos of children, including seven category A. While on bail, he engaged in sexualised conversations with four more adults posing as children aged 12, 13, and 14 on Kik, sending sexual content and discussing meetings, with devices revealing 11 more indecent images, five category A.
Admitted to attempting to cause or incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity, five counts of attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child, two counts of arranging or facilitating sexual activity with a child, and five counts of making indecent images of a child. Placed on the Sex Offenders Register and made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order indefinitely.
James Whitlock
Attempting to escape from lawful custody *

James Whitlock, while receiving treatment at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge after injuring his neck at HMP Whitemoor on August 20, 2022, attempted to escape by breaking free from his chain in the shower area. He covered his hands with his gown and ran a short distance before being detained by officers. This incident occurred after he had previously been sentenced to 15 years for using explosives to steal cash machines in Essex and London.
Admitted attempting to escape from lawful custody. DC Emma Purser noted that the attempt was quickly thwarted and described it as foolish.

Grant Brownlow
Attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child *

Grant Brownlow, 36, of Bronze Street, March, began speaking to a decoy from an online child activist group in October 2020, believing the decoy to be a 14-year-old girl. He turned the conversation sexual and continued it from July 2021. On November 21, 2021, the activist group confronted him at his home and alerted the police. A search of his devices revealed five extreme images involving animals.
Pleaded guilty to possessing an extreme pornographic image. Found guilty of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity. Ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life and handed an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
Darren Stapleton
Attempting to arrange the commission of a child sex offence *

4 years imprisonment and 2 years on licence
Darren Stapleton engaged in online conversations with undercover police officers posing as a nine-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl between October 2022 and January 2023. He expressed intentions to touch and have sex with them, agreed to meet the first officer, and sent an inappropriate photo to the second. He was arrested on February 11, 2023, at his home in Great Staughton, where devices containing 126 indecent images of children, 463 images of bestiality, and 942 other images were seized.
Pleaded guilty to attempting to arrange the commission of a child sex offence, attempting to sexually communicate with a child, possessing an extreme pornographic image, and three counts of making indecent images of children. Also handed a 20-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
