Adam Hewitt, 32, of Tintagel Court, Peterborough, attacked his partner by smashing her head against a wall in the early hours of 29 June 2023 at her mother’s home in Peterborough, just three weeks after they met. He had become increasingly aggressive and argumentative. The attack knocked out one of her teeth, and she was found bleeding heavily from the mouth. Family members were woken by the commotion, chased Hewitt, but he escaped through the bathroom window. Police were called, and he later handed himself in.
Admitted assault causing grievous bodily harm without intent. Sentence included activation of a suspended sentence. Given a restraining order for ten years. DC Helen Williams noted Hewitt is clearly a danger to others and has a propensity for violence.

Possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin *

Police raided William Ferreira’s home in Creek Road, March, on 12 September 2023, where they found 112 wraps of crack cocaine, 35 wraps of heroin, around £5,000 in cash, and his mobile phone containing multiple sent messages offering to deliver the ‘best of both’. This evidence proved he was operating a county line across Cambridgeshire as part of illegal drug dealing and exploitation.

Alexander Mount
Driving while under the influence of drugs *

Disqualified from driving for three years
On 20 September, Mount, 30, of The Paddocks, Earith, was driving a Mercedes C Class at about 12.30pm when it lost power on the A14 at Bar Hill. Police suspected he was under the influence and he admitted taking drugs the night before, providing a positive swipe for cocaine. Two bags of cocaine were found in his vehicle and four in his underwear. Blood sample showed 800 micrograms of benzoylecgonine and 74 micrograms of cocaine per litre. On 4 October at about 2.50pm, he was spotted driving a Volkswagen Golf while on his mobile phone in Brooks Road, Cambridge, testing positive for cocaine and cannabis, with further drugs found. Blood showed 66 micrograms of cocaine and 800 micrograms of benzoylecgonine.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of driving while under the influence of drugs, possession of a class A and B drugs and driving while using a mobile phone.

On 19 October, road policing officers stopped a white Ford Transit Connect on the A14 near Boxworth Services, Cambridgeshire, suspecting it was driven without insurance. Two men exited the vehicle and fled across fields. Officers apprehended 28-year-old Iliran Sinani in a nearby field, finding a passport, bank card, and driving licence in his pockets. Nine bags containing cannabis worth up to £45,000 were discovered in the vehicle inside laundry bags.
Previously pleaded guilty to three counts of possession of another person’s identity documents and possession with intent to supply cannabis.
Jermaine Rowe

On the evening of 19 September 2023, neighbourhood officers patrolling Cambridge spotted Jermaine Rowe, a 21-year-old man wearing a balaclava, riding an electric pedal scooter. When officers attempted to stop him, he fled, discarded the scooter, and tried to run away. After a short scuffle in Argyle Street, he was arrested. Officers found a zombie knife in his waistband, and upon further search, discovered a viable firearm and ammunition in his bag, along with two bundles of class A drugs and £2,307 in cash.
Pleaded guilty to possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of ammunition without a certificate, possession of a knife, possession with intent to supply class A drugs, possession of criminal property and being concerned in the supply of class B drugs at an earlier hearing. Angela Williams, 51, of Elizabeth Court, Peterborough, conspired with accomplice Adrian Trowell to rob a man. Williams was having a drink with the victim in O’Neill’s pub in Broadway, Peterborough, at about 5pm on 2 July 2022, when Trowell approached and had a brief conversation with her before leaving. A short while later, Williams and the victim left the pub and headed down a nearby alleyway, where Trowell pushed the man over and stole his wallet. Both fled but were identified via CCTV footage. The victim was not seriously injured.

John Sharples, 54, of Thornhill Place, Longstanton, near Cambridge, engaged in coercive and controlling behaviour towards his girlfriend throughout their relationship. He demanded she produce bus tickets and receipts to track her movements, continuously questioned her whereabouts, followed her to shops, insisted on driving her to friends' houses and waiting outside, and monitored her phone communications. On 5 May 2021, after she lied about a school appointment to visit a friend, he bombarded her with calls and texts, then angrily marched her to the school, becoming aggressive towards her and staff, which prompted police involvement.
Changed his plea to guilty on the first day of his trial in August.

On 14 April 2023, Reza Bashardoost, 52, of no fixed address, was walking past Café Algarve in Lincoln Road, Millfield, Peterborough, when he made a comment about a customer’s dog, resulting in an argument. He walked away but returned shortly after and continued the disagreement, involving other customers outside the café. He walked away again but returned five minutes later and threw a chair at one of the group. Armed police were called after reports that Bashardoost was threatening to kill someone with a knife. He was arrested after being found with a pair of scissors in his pocket.

The burglary enabled the subsequent theft of the Citroen Berlingo van.

On the afternoon of 30 June 2023, neighbourhood officers on patrol in Cambridge spotted a group of suspected drug dealers and users near a play park in Church Street, Chesterton, Cambridge. As they approached, Callum Schooling ran off, with officers seeing a large red kitchen knife in the waistband of his trousers. After a short foot chase, Schooling, 22, of Talbot Way, Letchworth, was arrested and found in possession of the knife, a mobile phone, more than £600 in cash, and five pairs of new sunglasses. He also discarded a second mobile phone which was recovered.
Previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and possession of a bladed article.
Nathan Giltinane
Assault occasioning grievous bodily harm with intent *

On 13 November 2022, Nathan Giltinane, 34, of Walnut Tree Avenue, Cambridge, punched and kicked his partner in the head while she was on the floor trying to defend herself, causing her to lose consciousness. The attack resulted in a broken arm, chipped front teeth, missing hair, a lump on her head requiring a CT scan, bruising to forehead, eye socket, shoulders, back of hand, and at least eight points of contact. The victim felt dizzy and called NHS 111 for help with a black eye and busted lip, but Giltinane controlled the conversation, telling her to say she had fallen. Police arrived around 11pm, arrested him, and took her to hospital where she confided the truth. He claimed in interview that he backhanded her in retaliation after she hit him first, causing her to fall on her arm. He was charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm with intent, coercive behaviour, and criminal damage; the latter two charges ordered to lie on file.
Pleaded guilty to GBH with intent on the day his trial was due to begin. Previously jailed for domestic violence offences. Given a 10-year restraining order preventing contact with victim. Sentencing by Recorder James Willan KC, who noted no excuse for the attack, betrayal of trust in victim's home, and significant risk of harm to future partners.

Sean Mokler, 30, of Clare Close, Waterbeach, Cambridge, searched online forums for leaked login details from platforms including OnlyFans, Snapchat, and private iCloud accounts. He used these details to access private and explicit images of women, some of whom he knew. He then contacted them via a fake anonymous Facebook account, threatening to share the images unless they sent more photos or money.
Pleaded guilty to five counts of blackmail. Caused real distress to victims, leaving them feeling violated.

A search of Gjoni and his vehicle revealed wraps of cocaine hidden inside a roll-on deodorant bottle and some cash in the car door.

On 25 August, 22-year-old John Smith was found by police in the Creek Road area of March riding a bike believed to be stolen in a robbery earlier that month. He was in possession of 22 wraps of cocaine worth about £440 and two mobile phones, leading to his arrest. A search of his home uncovered more cocaine worth up to £2,400, drug preparation equipment with cocaine remnants, and over £1,300 in cash. He was charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine and granted bail on 27 August with conditions not to enter Cambridgeshire and to reside in Rochdale. On 14 October, he breached bail by hiding in a wardrobe in his former home in Creek Road. Examination of his mobile phones showed evidence of drug dealing, leading to further charges of breaching court bail and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.
Ordered to forfeit £1,331.50 under the Misuse of Drugs Act to a nominated local charity. Key involvement in dealing cocaine in the March area.

Ismail Ishmaili, 19, was found asleep in a house on Norfolk Street, Wimblington, which had been transformed into a cannabis factory containing 501 cannabis plants valued at up to £420,840. He was arrested on September 30 after a warrant was executed by the March Neighbourhood Policing Team and subsequently charged with production of cannabis.

Steven Blades
Breaching Sexual Harm Prevention Order and failing to comply with sex offender notifications *

Steven Blades, a convicted sex offender from Peterborough, breached his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and Sex Offender Notification Requirements (SONR) by travelling to a holiday park in Yorkshire in August where he had contact with children, buying an internet-capable device, and creating a new email address without notifying police. He was arrested at his home in Manton, Bretton, after unannounced visits by the Management of Sexual or Violent Offenders (MOSOVO) team revealed he was missing and had ignored conditions to inform police of personal changes within three days and report contact with under-18s lasting more than 12 hours.
Pleaded guilty to one count of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and five counts of failing to comply with sex offender register notifications. Originally convicted in 2022 for attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

On the afternoon of 27 December 2023, officers from the Road Policing Unit spotted a white Nissan Kubistar suspected to be uninsured in Cambridge. They activated blue lights and sirens to signal Bobby Loveridge, aged 32, of Cophall Drove, Little Downham, to pull over. Instead, he accelerated, reaching speeds of more than 50mph along residential streets, overtook multiple vehicles, went head-on into oncoming traffic, passed through two red traffic lights, lost control, and crashed into a metal fence on Mill Road. Police video of the three-minute pursuit was released.
Pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and possession of a class A drug. Must also carry out 200 hours unpaid work and has been disqualified from driving for three years when he must take an extended retest.

Nelson Smith broke into three properties in Yelling on August 1, 2023, stealing jewellery and other goods worth more than £48,000. He parked on the drive of one property on Toseland Road, used a hammer to smash the rear patio doors, and was captured on CCTV carrying items such as a child's scooter, clothing, and pillowcases full of goods. His DNA was recovered from the scene, and a footprint from his shoes was found at another property on High Street. The vehicle he used was reported stolen in Luton in May 2023, leading to his arrest after a short foot chase in St Neots.
Pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary and one count of handling stolen goods. Detective Sergeant James Rabbett noted the crime's impact on victims, describing it as an invasion of homes with lasting effects on well-being.

Kieran Napier punched the victim at 3am on March 19, 2022, in Market Square, St Neots, causing the victim to fall and hit his head, resulting in two brain bleeds. The victim spent three days in hospital and required re-admission for further bleeds. Napier, of Rectory Close, Great Paxton, walked away from the scene with his girlfriend and friend, was arrested six months later at Gatwick Airport, and initially denied being at the scene before changing his plea.
Pleaded guilty in August. Judge commented that the defendant was lucky not to face manslaughter charges, showed no remorse by initially denying involvement, and highlighted the commonality of drunken violence.

Police and paramedics found Julia unconscious and seriously injured, and despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation by the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit followed, leading to his charges and guilty plea.
Pleaded guilty to manslaughter through diminished responsibility and attempted murder following a psychiatric assessment.
Matthew Fox

Matthew Fox, 33, raped an unconscious woman near a Peterborough city centre car park in the early hours of 22 July 2022. The pair, who were not known to each other, met while drinking in a nearby bar and left together. CCTV operators monitored them and alerted police due to concerns for the woman's welfare, believing her to be highly intoxicated. Traffic officers found Fox climbing off the unresponsive victim at the top of a ramp to a car park in Cattle Market Road. An ambulance took the woman to hospital where she regained consciousness several hours later. Fox was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and denied the rape charge, but was found guilty after a trial earlier in the year. Additionally, after his charge and remand in prison, Fox contacted his cousin Alfie Smith, sister Jamie-Lee Fox, and mother Alison Quinn-Gajdur to intimidate the victim into changing her statement to police.
Found guilty of rape by unanimous jury verdict following trial. Also sentenced for perverting the course of justice after admitting the offence.

On 10 July, Isuf Qaushi was driving a silver Ford Focus in Ditton Fields, Cambridgeshire, when police pulled him over suspecting no insurance. Officers searched the vehicle and found eight bags of cocaine stashed in a chewing gum tab. Despite refusing to provide a home address, his mobile phone revealed taxi orders to a house in Kaldor Court, Cambridge. A search of his bedroom uncovered a sock containing 34 further bags of cocaine, cash, and a mobile phone with messages linking him to drug dealing.

Samuel Robinson
Engaging in sexual communication with a child *

Samuel Robinson, a 27-year-old former primary school teacher and scout leader from Butt Lane, Milton, engaged in sexual conversations with a decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl via social media chat platforms between 7 April and 11 April 2023. The decoy repeatedly stated their age, but Robinson continued the inappropriate discussion. He was arrested on 11 April 2023 after the activist group visited his home. Examination of his devices revealed prior sexual communications with a real 15-year-old girl between May 2021 and June 2022, during which he offered to send inappropriate pictures.
Pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual communication with a child, attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to cause a girl to engage in sexual activity. DC Caroline Murphy noted the offences had no connection with Robinson’s teaching or his role as a scout leader, and described his actions as appalling.

The incident occurred in Perry Road, Leverington, Wisbech.

Later, he confronted a 54-year-old neighbour with his son, leading to a tussle. After police arrived, Dermot, masked, approached the neighbour's door with a large knife to remove the video doorbell. He refused orders, became aggressive, threw planks of wood at officers, and appeared with a gas-powered BB pistol, resulting in a stun grenade being used for his arrest.

Making indecent images of children and sexual assault of a child under 13 *

Karl Robinson, 29, of Calvin Close, Cottenham, South Cambridgeshire, came to the attention of police in September 2022 after being arrested for making indecent images of children following a tip-off to the National Crime Agency about sharing indecent images online from authorities in New Zealand. Further examination of his devices uncovered a video of Sophie Eason Edge abusing a child. In total, Robinson was found to have 537 indecent images of children across his electronic devices. He was arrested again in February 2023.

Leslie Gearing, 78, from McKenzie Road, Chatham, Kent, engaged in online grooming starting in December 2022, exchanging sexually explicit messages and photographs with a decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl. He travelled over 100 miles from Chatham to Central Park in Peterborough on 20 February to meet the decoy, where he was arrested. On 24 June, members of the public called police reporting Michael Roberts was in Mill Road, Cambridge, armed with a metal pole. He struck one person with the pole and punched another person who attempted to intervene. He was arrested and taken into custody where he assaulted seven police officers by kicking, spitting and being verbally abusive towards them. He also racially abused another officer.
Pleaded guilty to seven counts of assaulting an emergency worker, racially aggravated assault and affray. Police described the actions as a 'violent rampage'. Detective Constable Matthew Lander commented on the out of control behaviour and highlighted the daily abuse faced by emergency services workers.

Luke McAllister of Crouch Gardens, Buntingford, was working on a separate building site on the A1198 on 10 November last year, when he trespassed on to the plot in Godmanchester, went into a drying room and took a wallet containing a bank card and a black charging unit. The 35-year-old then walked over to the nearby petrol station on Cardinal Way and attempted to purchase a packet of cigarettes, but the card was declined twice. Meanwhile, the victim received a notification on his mobile phone of the failed transactions and went to the garage to investigate. He got a description of McAllister and spotted him working on the building site so called police for assistance. McAllister ran away when police arrived, climbed a fence, and then attempted to hide in some brambles. He was found in possession of the charging unit and arrested.
Pleaded guilty to burglary, fraud by false representation and obstruct a constable.
Harry Agate

In May 2022, specialist officers visited Harry Agate's registered address in Peterborough and learned he had moved out some time earlier following an argument with his housemate. Of no fixed abode, he failed to notify police of the change in circumstances as required by the Sex Offenders Register.

Colin Dean, 58, of Orchard Road, Histon, indecently assaulted and sexually abused a boy over a five-year period between 1980 and 1985 in various places in the Cambridgeshire area. The offending came to light in July 2021 when the victim came forward.
Found guilty by a jury at an earlier hearing of four counts of indecent assault on a boy under 14 and four counts of inciting a boy under 14 to commit an act of gross indecency. Detective Sergeant Mark Williamson commended the victim's bravery.

Ricky Green, 39, of no fixed abode, broke into Great St Mary’s Church in Cambridge overnight on 3 April by smashing a window. He stole £15 from a donation tin and jewellery worth £143 from the gift shop. His blood was found at the scene. Two weeks later, he was arrested on suspicion of burglary; a search revealed a knife, cannabis, a phone with drug supply messages, a sim card in his sock, and wraps of crack cocaine and heroin in his underpants.
Pleaded guilty to burglary, possession of a knife in a public place, possession of cannabis and possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin. Described as brazen with no respect for the place of worship.

Robert Keltie, 34, of Sheepwalk, Paston, Peterborough, and Roxanne Scoular, 28, of Ruster Way, Hampton Hargate, Peterborough, stole more than £3,000-worth of goods from shops in Peterborough between 2 May and 20 May. On 2 May, they went to Sally’s Hair and Beauty Supplies in Maskew Avenue, where an accomplice put his foot in the door, preventing staff from locking it, and they stole several electrical items worth £644.15. Keltie pushed a staff member out of the way when they attempted to intervene. Further thefts totalling about £2,500 occurred on 3 May at Spar in Welland Road, Dogsthorpe, and JD Sports in Serpentine Green, Hampton; on 16 May, 18 May, and 20 May at Boots at the Bretton Centre (about £1,400 of goods); and at Tesco Esso Garage in Welland Road, Dogsthorpe.

Bhavesh Voralia, 50, of The Drive, Peterborough, attacked a victim in a block of flats in The Drive, Peterborough, at about 9am on 3 September 2021. He grabbed her breasts and smacked her, telling her he loved her, before the terrified victim ran back to her flat. Additionally, after being placed on the Sex Offenders Register following a conviction for another sexual assault on 13 June last year, he flew from Heathrow Airport to Ahmedabad in India three days later without notifying police of his name, date of birth, home address within three days, or providing seven days' advance notice of foreign travel.
Found guilty of sexual assault and two counts of failing to comply with Sex Offenders Register notification requirements. Previously convicted of another sexual assault at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on 13 June last year.

Officers from the St Neots Neighbourhood Team carried out a warrant at the home of Amar Hussain in Howitts Gardens, Eynesbury, St Neots, in April 2020 after suspecting he was dealing drugs. As they attempted to enter the property, Hussain ran upstairs with a rucksack, locked himself into the bathroom and began throwing cash out of the window. A further warrant was carried out at a property he was linked to in Loves Way, St Neots in May where further drugs were found. Between the two homes and gardens officers recovered more than £15,000 in cash as well as cocaine, MDMA and cannabis with a street value of up to £41,000. They also seized clothing, bikes, and shoes worth up to £40,000.
Pleaded guilty to four counts of being concerned in the supply of drugs, three counts of possession with intent to supply drugs and acquiring criminal property.

Christopher Scott, 47, of South Walk, Ramsey, walked into the Spar shop in Great Whyte on 6 June at approximately 8pm, approached a shop assistant in the sweet aisle, initially said 'I fancy something sweet', then demanded 'all the cash from the till' while pulling out a knife. The staff opened the till and emptied the cash, and he also demanded two bottles of Jack Daniels from behind the counter, wielding the knife towards them. He was captured on CCTV, identified, and arrested. The incident caused severe disruption to the shop's opening times as staff recovered.
Pleaded guilty to robbery and possessing a knife in a public place. Detective Constable James Lewis noted it was an incredibly frightening incident for the shop staff.

Police raided a house in Vere Road, Peterborough on 15 September 2022 and found more than 800 wraps of crack cocaine, cocaine and heroin stashed in a shoebox in a bin outside the property worth £12,390. Shamar Williams, 21, of St Mary’s Court, was one of three men arrested at the scene. Investigations revealed he had been dealing across the city between May and September 2022. Evidence from his movements and text messages on his phone proved he was running a criminal enterprise across Peterborough as part of county lines operations.
Pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine, cocaine and heroin and being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, cocaine, and heroin.
Adam Giles
Attempting to cause or incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity *

Adam Giles, 47, of Havelock Drive, Peterborough, began contacting what he believed to be a 12-year-old girl on Snapchat in September 2020, sending sexual messages, suggesting meetings, and an indecent image of himself. In November 2020, police raided his home in Paston, Peterborough, seizing devices containing 12 indecent images or videos of children, including seven category A. While on bail, he engaged in sexualised conversations with four more adults posing as children aged 12, 13, and 14 on Kik, sending sexual content and discussing meetings, with devices revealing 11 more indecent images, five category A.
Admitted to attempting to cause or incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity, five counts of attempting to engage in sexual communications with a child, two counts of arranging or facilitating sexual activity with a child, and five counts of making indecent images of a child. Placed on the Sex Offenders Register and made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order indefinitely.
