She was searched upon arrival to visit her partner and later admitted to the offences. Woods has a history of previous convictions and was involved in attempted thefts with her partner.
Pleaded guilty to possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply and conveying prohibited articles into a prison. Judge commented that taking drugs into a prison was extremely serious as it undermined prison discipline.

Jules Coldwell and an accomplice broke into a house on Fletcher Crescent in Rastrick during the early afternoon in August of the previous year. A neighbour spotted the burglary and alerted the householder and police. The householder arrived with colleagues, causing the intruders to flee. Coldwell was hit with a shovel while attempting to escape through nearby gardens but managed to run off through fields. He left behind a bottle of methadone with his name and details on it, as well as a rucksack containing stolen property, which had his DNA on it.
Pleaded guilty to burglary. The judge noted that drugs had blighted his life and described the offence as marked by amateurism rather than sophistication. He had 23 prior convictions, mostly for shoplifting.

In August 2014, experienced worker Kevin Hirst was applying a coating involving the highly flammable substance isopropanol to a mould at Batley Foundry Limited's premises on Warwick Road, Batley. He was wearing only a T-shirt and jeans. A bucket he was holding caught fire with 2ft flames, which he dropped, causing the burning paint to engulf him head to toe. A colleague extinguished the flames with a fire extinguisher. Mr Hirst suffered full thickness burns requiring skin grafts at Pinderfields Hospital, spent four weeks in hospital, and now works as a delivery driver after leaving the firm.
Admitted breaching health and safety legislation at a previous hearing before Kirklees magistrates. No previous history of offending. Company cooperated fully with the health and safety executive and introduced safety measures including fire retardant clothing, metal buckets with lids, and refresher training. Also ordered to pay £9,000 in costs.

Jordan Docherty, then 21, attacked Simon Hackett, 35, in the early hours of September 20, 2015, outside the Buttershaw Lane Working Men’s Club in Bradford following an argument. Docherty sprinted 60 metres and punched Hackett in the face, causing him to fall and hit his head on the ground, resulting in catastrophic head injuries including a fracture from the back of his head to his jawbone and brain damage. Hackett was taken to Leeds General Infirmary.
Pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm. Judge Durham Hall QC noted the victim may not survive.

Robert Anthony Lyn, then of Huntingdon Avenue, Bradley, murdered 38-year-old Daniel Campbell in a savage and premeditated knife attack at Mr Campbell’s home on Elizabeth Street, Elland, last July (2014). Lyn armed himself with a knife and forced his way into the property after discovering on Facebook that his girlfriend had reportedly slept with Campbell. He attacked Campbell as he lay defenceless on his bed.

On March 18, 2015, in the early hours around 2am or 3am, 19-year-old Ruairi Moore started a fire in the cellar of his mid-terraced home on George Street, Hipperholme, while under the influence of alcohol after his mother Nicola Watson had gone to bed. His mother was asleep upstairs, and neighbours were sleeping. Moore called 999 and shouted for his mother to escape. Fire crews used thermal-imaging to locate the small blaze in the smoke-filled cellar. Moore denied deliberate arson, suggesting he may have dropped a cigarette, but pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing.

Stuart McKie assaulted his pregnant partner Jane Roebuck at their home in Brooke Street, Rastrick, in October 2014 after drinking heavily. He grabbed her by the throat with both hands, pressing thumbs into her throat causing her to gasp for breath, pushed her into the living room where she fell, kicked her in the body and legs, punched her in the face, and grabbed her throat again causing her to choke and bang her head on the floor. She was 27 weeks pregnant at the time. He also ripped the phone line off the wall to prevent her calling police. Later, irritated by a neighbour's burglar alarm, he smashed a window with an axe. Police arrived due to the disturbance and found him at the house. The victim was taken to hospital for checks; the baby was unharmed and born earlier in 2015.
Pleaded guilty to assault and criminal damage. No previous convictions for violence. Restraining order imposed banning contact with victim. Ordered to complete 150 hours unpaid work. Judge remarked the offence passed the custody threshold by a mile but suspended sentence due to ended relationship.

Ronald Castree abducted 11-year-old Lesley Molseed on 5 October 1975 while she was walking to a shop in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. He took her to a remote section near Rishworth Moor in West Yorkshire, where he stabbed her twelve times in the upper shoulder and back, one wound penetrating her heart. Semen was found on her clothing and underwear, later matched to Castree via DNA extracted from adhesive tape used on her knickers. Her body was discovered on 8 October 1975. Castree, a local taxi driver and comic book dealer from Shaw and Crompton, had prior sexual offence convictions.
Convicted based on DNA match from semen on victim's knickers (one in a billion chance of error). Prior convictions include fines for indecent assault in 1976 (£25) and 1978 (£50).

On April 2 2024, Julian Gao, Saeed Najam Shah and Daniel Jones used an angle-grinder to cut through a security fence at Teledyne UK Ltd in Shipley before causing about £570,000 worth of damage to the roof and interior. The firm has been linked to weapons manufacture. The group changed into red boiler suits, carried sledgehammers, ladders, crowbars, flags and banners. Emergency services implemented a containment plan as protesters refused to leave the roof; drone footage showed them smashing roof tiles and windows. The attack affected 100 employees and closed the site for a week.
Convicted by jury of criminal damage and possession of articles with intent to cause criminal damage. Judge Ahmed Nadim described the offending as deliberate, planned and sustained, causing substantial damage and serious disruption. Seriousness meant only immediate prison sentences appropriate.
