He operated a small-scale drug supply operation from his bedroom, supplying to friends and known users.

David Cairney carried out a frenzied hammer attack on a male victim at a flat in Stonyhurst Road, Blackburn, on March 30, 2024. When a woman attempted to help the man, Cairney attacked her as well, fracturing her eye socket. He then stole the male victim's bank card and wallet before fleeing. Both victims sustained serious injuries requiring hospital treatment, including potential brain injury and vision problems for the victims.
Found guilty on all counts of two counts of Section 18 Wounding and robbery. Deemed a dangerous offender by Judge Richard Archer.
