Michael Ormandy, 34, a former cage fighter and boxer with a 'The Hitman' tattoo on his neck, went unannounced to his girlfriend Rebekah Campbell's flat in Knowsley Heights, Huyton, Liverpool on April 15, 2025. While she was on the phone with a friend, he stabbed her 27 times, including 18 stab wounds that pierced her left lung and heart. She shouted 'get out Mick' during the struggle, and he fled less than two minutes later. Ms Campbell collapsed outside, informed neighbours and police of his responsibility, and died from her injuries in the early hours of April 16, 2025. Ormandy had a history of violence, including accusing an ex-partner of cheating and attacking his mother.

Waugh managed the importation of at least 16 prohibited firearms from Spain between January 2019 and July 2020, which were linked to multiple shootings in Liverpool, including incidents on Wilburn Street, Reaper Close, and Carisbroke Road.

Additionally, he conspired to arrange an acid attack on rival Nathan Simpson, offering £20,000 to an enforcer to blind Simpson and his girlfriend, and later specifying to stab him in the legs and rub acid on his face. Although the attack was planned over several days in April 2020, it was not carried out. Waugh was arrested in September 2024 in Spain and extradited to the UK.

The victim, now a young adult, reported the incident in June of the previous year during therapy with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. Pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a child under 13. Had two previous convictions and was under the influence of drugs at the time. Expressed remorse and accepted responsibility for the offence.
