She supplied them directly to drug users to fund her son's private specialist education amid financial struggles after separating from her partner. She has two young children, one with additional needs, and admitted using cocaine during this period but had no prior convictions. She confessed to her employer and during police interview.
Pleaded guilty. No previous convictions. Judge Stephen Clime noted personal pressures including relationship breakdown and child's additional needs; sentence reduced from initial 3 years. Warned of custody if reoffends within 2 years.

On September 19, 2024, at around midnight, Jack Mitchelmore, a 37-year-old plumber from Brixham, assaulted his partner of six years during an argument. He spat in her face, grabbed her around the neck causing difficulty breathing, and later pushed her in the chest at the top of the stairs, causing her to fall down two sets of stairs and hit her head against a wall. She punched him and fled to another room. He continued verbal abuse, calling her a 'slag'. A separate criminal damage incident occurred a month later when he kicked a vacuum cleaner and broke the television.
Pleaded guilty to two assaults by beating and criminal damage. Judge Stephen Climie imposed the order and stated the relationship was over. Defendant had no fixed abode and claimed no memory of the assaults.

On July 4, 2024, at 8.30am on the A3126 West Exe South in Tiverton, Beth Hanby, 45, of Brook Street, Bampton, was driving a Suzuki at 33-37mph in a 30mph zone while taking her children to catch the school bus. She struck 79-year-old pedestrian Peter Hill, who was crossing the road to collect his daily newspaper. He was thrown onto the bonnet, sustaining serious injuries that led to his deterioration and death three weeks later. Investigators concluded she could have braked in time at 30mph. Hanby stopped immediately, assisted Mr Hill, and kept her children away. The collision was due to a momentary lapse in concentration with no evidence of distraction or rushing.
Pleaded guilty. No previous convictions. Sentence reduced from 36 weeks due to early guilty plea. District Judge Smith noted the speed made a critical difference and demonstrated fatal consequences of small increases over the limit.

Peter Moore, a 72-year-old man from Gussiford Lane, Exmouth, collected 35,000 indecent images of children over a 19-year period starting approximately 10 years before his arrest in October 2020. Police raided his home after tracing suspicious internet activity and found the images on his computer, including 35,000 Category C, 48 Category B, and 1,426 prohibited non-photographic images. He admitted to downloading via Google initially, then torrent sites like Pirate Bay after restrictions, driven by curiosity about the 'spice of the forbidden'. No evidence of sharing or distribution. He expressed relief at being caught and glad to end his 'bad habit'.
Pleaded guilty to two offences of making (by downloading) indecent images and one of possessing prohibited images of children. Carl Forrester, a 71-year-old from Devon, was convicted of multiple sexual assaults on a child. He initially fled to America using an American passport to avoid trial but was located with help from the victim's mother and his family, extradited back to the UK, and tried on the second attempt. It was known at sentencing that he had terminal cancer and might die within weeks, but the judge imposed the long sentence to protect the public in case of medical advances prolonging his life. A young calf was found lying in slurry and litter. Despite multiple visits and instructions from authorities in 2022, 2023, and 2024 to provide treatment, feed, remove hazards and carcasses, and comply with an Anti-Pollution Works Notice issued in March 2024, Rosewell failed to act, leading to ongoing pollution risks and animal suffering.
Pleaded guilty. District Judge Smith described the case as 'shocking' and 'reading the script of a horror movie'. Costs of £18,251 awarded to be paid within six months.

On June 9, 2023, at Blundell’s School in Tiverton, Devon, the 16-year-old offender armed himself with claw hammers and attacked two sleeping dormmates aged 15 and 16, smashing their skulls multiple times, causing severe injuries including broken skulls, damaged spleen, lung, and ribs. He then attacked housemaster Henry Roffe-Silvester who investigated the noise, striking him repeatedly before being disarmed. The victims survived due to prompt medical intervention but one suffered life-changing cognitive impairment. Investigation revealed prior planning through internet searches on hammer attacks, serial killers, and school massacres, and evidence he was conscious, listening to music before the assault.
Denied three counts of attempted murder claiming sleepwalking but found guilty by jury after 10-week trial. Sentence minus 495 days already spent in custody.

During the arrest, authorities found sex toys, condoms, and bondage equipment in his vehicle. The offences spanned four years and occurred while he was in positions of trust, including as a volunteer for the Sea Cadets and the Royal Lifesaving Society.
