Doherty had traces of cannabis in his system, fled the scene with his pregnant wife, and later handed himself in at a police station.
Pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Judge Peter Blair described his actions as extraordinarily culpable and utterly cowardly, and noted he had no driving licence or insurance.

On June 30, 2024, the cattle attacked 75-year-old dog walker Brian Gregory, trampling and butting him, resulting in a severed artery, horn marks, and gashes down to the bone. Despite being informed of the attack, Chapman added more cattle to the herd instead of removing them. A month later, the herd attacked two locals and their dogs, injuring one pet. Chapman only removed the cattle four days later after instruction from Cornwall Council. Alternative enclosed fields without public rights of way were available.

Martin Reilly, 53, carried out a series of armed robberies at betting shops across Britain between June 13 and October 10, 2023, after falling out with his probation officer. He used disguises including wigs, hats, false beards, moustaches, a fright mask, and once impersonated Elvis Presley with aviator sunglasses, stick-on sideburns, and a black wig to hide scarring on his cheeks. He targeted shops in Brighton, Hove, Eastbourne, Woking (Surrey), Portsmouth (Hampshire), Westcliff-on-Sea (Essex), Bedford (Bedfordshire), and west London, entering after opening, demanding cash from tills and safes while brandishing an imitation firearm or knife, locking victims in toilets, kitchens, or store cupboards, and escaping with a total of £23,000. The crimes spanned seven police force areas, leading to a nationwide manhunt. Victims suffered ongoing anxiety, sleep difficulties, and impacts on daily working lives, with no physical injuries but significant mental anguish. Reilly was arrested in Hereford on October 2023, where police found disguises, a large knife, and an imitation handgun in his flat at Charades Guesthouse.
Guilty pleas to seven armed robberies, one attempted armed robbery and seven counts of possession of a firearm. Previously released on licence from a life sentence in 2005 for similar offences. Judge noted the pleas spared victims from reliving trauma.

On September 2, 2024, Bryan Smith, 47, of no fixed address, led police on a 27-minute pursuit through southern and central Bristol in a stolen car with cloned registration plates. He drove on pavements, through several red lights, at speeds up to 80mph in a 30mph limit, narrowly missed other vehicles, hit two vehicles belonging to members of the public, and was stopped using stingers and a taser in the Fishponds area without harming anyone, thanks to skilled officers and police helicopter support.
Admitted driving offences. Pleaded guilty to each offence at Bristol Magistrates’ Court last month. Pc Dan Hambin described the driving as amongst the most reckless and exceedingly dangerous he has ever seen.

Paul Brown, a 57-year-old maintenance man at Springfields Care Home in Hove, committed nine sexual offences between 2004 and 2012 at the care home on Langdale Road. He was convicted on seven counts of sexual assault by touching seven female members of care staff, one count of voyeurism, and one count of being a careworker engaged in sexual activity with a mentally disordered female, which involved kissing a vulnerable resident. Brown took advantage of his position of trust to target vulnerable individuals.
Convicted of nine sexual offences. Placed on the sex offenders register for ten years. Judge Paul Tain presided.

Oliver Mullen, aged 38 from Bradford-on-Avon, raped a woman who was not in a position to consent at a property off Atchley Street in Bristol on May 21, 2021. He had previously raped another woman in Ashley Avenue in Bath on April 10, 2016. The victims were vulnerable and unable to consent. One victim reported daily fear, shame, anger, isolation, and distrust, impacting her ability to form relationships.
Convicted unanimously of raping two women. Added to the Sex Offenders' Register for life. Appeals against conviction and sentence dismissed at Royal Courts of Justice on 28 January 2026. Described as a 'dangerous' man who refused to take accountability.

In one incident captured on CCTV, he smashed through the front door of a shop to gain entry. He was arrested by the Bristol Neighbourhood Policing Team investigating a series of thefts from supermarkets and charged with five counts of shop theft, one count of criminal damage, and one count of possession of a class A drug (crack cocaine).
Pleaded guilty to five counts of shop theft, one count of criminal damage, and one count of possession of a class A drug (crack cocaine). Also handed a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order banning him from entering several shops across the city. Prolific offender with significant financial impact on businesses.

Sean Reuben, 49, of Lawrence Weston, raped a woman in her 20s at a house in Clevedon in November 2021. He was arrested the same night after the victim reported the incident. The crime had a profound impact on the victim, causing physical and mental harm including suicidal thoughts, self-harm, nightmares, flashbacks, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Despite his denial, a jury found him guilty in May, and he was sentenced on August 13, 2024.
Pleaded not guilty and was found guilty by a jury. Judge Burgess highlighted him as a dangerous sexual predator with no remorse.
